Perth 0-8 Victoria Park/Belmont Reds
W: Dylan Brammer (3-0), L: Guillaume Duguay (2-2) Victoria Park/Belmont Reds opened up the Week 8 fixture in resounding fashion – taking care of Perth in an 8-0 shutout. Dylan Brammer was the star of the show – striking out 11 batters across eight scoreless frames to lead the Reds to victory. Brammer shone in the batter’s box too, going 2-4 with three runs and two RBIs, while Matthew DeKundy homered. Gavin Stupienski and Jack Smalpage also drove in a pair of runs each for Victoria Park. Baseball WA is excited to formally launch our brand new MP70 championship tournament.
From January 6 to 9, 2020, Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark (Baseball Park, Thornlie) will play host to players aged 9 through 13 from all over Western Australia. Individuals register for the event and will be placed into teams at the end of the first day and then play three days of games with expert coaching. Morley Eagles 8-3 Swan Districts Swans
W: Locky Southee (1-0), L: Dillon Clarkson (0-2) Buoyed by last week’s statement win over Braves, the defending champions, the Morley Eagles produced yet another dramatic win, coming from behind to beat Swan Districts 8-3 to open the Week 7 fixtures. The Eagles rallied from 3-0 down, scoring five runs in the top of the ninth inning to cap off a remarkable comeback. Zach McMillin and Adrian Blount drove in two runs each, while Locky Southee worked five scoreless frames in relief to steady the ship for Morley. Over the last couple of weeks, Baseball WA has been announcing details of the Alternate Pathway Programs (A.P.P.) that will be implemented in 2020 and 2021.
The A.P.P. is our formal partnership with Pony League International and comes on the back of a number of years of work with Pony. Sporting Schools program is expanding in 2020. We have previously delivered Tee Ball and Machine Pitch to many primary schools across WA.
Adding to that will be the new and exciting Baseball 5 Program Baseball 5 is a new five on five, five inning street version of the game of baseball that can be played anywhere.
