Carine Cats 7-17 South Perth Cubs
W: Luke Mann (1-0), L: Peter Reyes (0-1) The South Perth Cubs continued their hot start to the 2019 season, racking up an impressive 19 team hits to down the Carine Cats 17-7 on Sunday. Max Wheeler led the Cubs’ offensive, going 5-5 with three runs and a pair of RBIs, while three other South Perth players also had multi-hit games. On the mound, Luke Mann claimed the win after striking out four batters across five strong innings of work, while Cats starter, Peter Reyes took the loss after giving up 11 runs through 3.2 innings. At long last, we can finally say baseball is back as teams from all around WA got their respective 2019/20 seasons underway last weekend.
Let’s take a deeper look into how State League 1 & 2 teams fared. Baseball WA is pleased to announce the appointments of the new Programs Administrators following the recent advertising of the position.
On review, it was decided to split the role across the various "pillars" of Participation Programming with each PA taking one or more of the pillars. The Schools pillar remains open at the moment pending the appointment of the School Sport Coordinator (also previously advertised). The coaching staff and Baseball WA would like to thank the players for their participation so far in the State under 16 trials. The following players are invited to continue through the process. Our next training is on Saturday the 12th at South Perth from 9am – 11am.
A tailored our program built in conjunction with Diamond Fitness for Year 11 and 12 students to study the Diploma of Sport Development while still attending high school!
