Baseball WA is pleased to advise that the registrations are now being taken for the 2021 Pony Girls League.
The BWA Pony Girls League will offer all females of League Age 13 to 16 the opportunity to play in a "league of their own". All players will be able to select from a menu of available clubs who have advised BWA they are interested in fielding a girls team. At present, these clubs are five returning from 2020 (Wanneroo, Carine, Willetton, Wembley and Braves), together with three new clubs being Byford, Kalamunda and South Perth. The purpose of the Pony Girls League is to:
The BWA registration cost will be $80. Each club will have an additional cost - this additional cost is reflected in the drop down menu when you select your club. The BWA registration fee component shall provide you with a numbered player tee shirt and WA Women's player cap, both to be worn on game days. Games will be played each Sunday afternoon - your club will advise you of training day information. Where clubs do not have sufficient players to field teams in their own right, BWA will group clubs together to create joint teams. At the completion of the League, an All-Star team is selected to play in the Pony Girls Baseball World Series in July (subject to travel restrictions and confirmation that the tournament is going ahead). Registrations are currently being taken through the Event portal on a first-in, best-dressed basis with link via the website page HERE. A reminder that for those girls aged 10 through 14, the Pony Girls Futures program starting in October is also available and taking registrations. Registration for the Futures program close end of September and for the League close end of October. Baseball WA is pleased to announce an exclusive partnership with Diamond Fitness, the official provider of strength and conditioning for our High Performance athletes.
“We are excited to formalise our agreement and get Diamond Fitness on board officially, as they’ve been working with the Baseball WA High Performance Program since 2017,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “Diamond Fitness gives our athletes unparalleled access to innovative tool-based performance outcomes to help them reach their goals, and we look forward to a bright future for our athletes with this partnership.” Diamond Fitness offers training for Pro-League, State Teams and Women’s Super League as well as the current Heat Futures program with the induction of new athletes in the coming weeks. Athletes have access to the Diamond Performance Centre in Osborne Park, where a team of trainers including ex-professional baseball players Dean White and Josh Kennelly and ASCA level 2 coaches Corban Wroe and Johnny Ogilvie utilise extensive expertise and understanding of sport science to deliver cutting edge programs. “We are proud of our long-standing relationship with Baseball WA and the success the athletes in our Diamond High Performance Baseball Programs have achieved,” Diamond HP Director Dean White said. “We look forward to providing more elite baseball athletes access to the tools they need to succeed on and off the field.” Click HERE for an exclusive offer for BWA members and more information on the Diamond High Performance Baseball Program. As the City of Wanneroo is rapidly expanding, with the majority of the City's population growth being experienced in the northern coastal corridor over the next 20 years, the Alkimos Ball Club Inc “Titans” was founded in 2016 to develop baseball (both juniors and seniors). With an inundation of requests for representation for ages 8 and below, Little Titans Tee-ball was born with our inaugural season launched last year. The founding members of our club have over 40 years of experience and knowledge in both sports, with some previously representing Perth Heat Baseball, as well as state and national teams in baseball and tee-ball. It is our collective goal to ensure that we establish a solid, reputable club that the local community can be proud of and to provide a much needed outlet for people to participate in the sports we are very passionate about through a professional, friendly, social and encouraging environment. Alkimos Ball Club endeavour to field multiple teams in Tee-Ball, all junior baseball grades from Machine Pitch to Big League. Works have already commenced on what we hope will be a big year in junior development and also coaching development (for any members who wish to be involved). We look forward to extending our senior grades with hopes of future representation in state league and taking out a premiership after just missing out two years in a row. Online registrations are now open through our registration portal. Payments of fees will continue as previous to the club bank account. Any enquiries can be forwarded to Registrar Sue Hoen: [email protected] With exciting new home grounds and facilities on the horizon, it is vitally important our members get behind the club in registering early and paying fees. We want all players, coaches, scorers, social members and volunteers to register through the portal, which will be a great way for our club to update all our members' contact details. Sponsorship is more important than ever for the Alkimos Ball Club. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, large or small or know of anyone who would love to become a part of our Titan Fam through sponsorship, please let us know. We have standard packages or we can design a package to suit. For more information please send your enquiry to [email protected]. The Season opens on 17th October with our Little Titans Tee-ball and Little League Baseball teams, with senior baseball following on the 18th, playing through to mid-March with a break for both seniors and juniors over Christmas. The club is now known as the North Coast Breakers.
Club President Antony Carter is excited by the announcement. "North Coast has been discussing having a name like Carine Cats, Wanneroo Giants etc for as long as I can remember but no one has ever been able to decide on one," Carter said. "One thing that has always been said is that it should be something coastal, I put a proposal forward during last season that we run a competition and see what names we got. Once we had the names, the committee got to decide which ones they wanted, these were then the names that the players got to choose from and vote on, that being everyone from teeball to baseball." "Breakers was chosen by the players. Then came the design which we asked the members for once again. We eventually ended up where we are now - the wave around the ball signifies the ocean so the colour had to be blue. We are still maroon and white and needed something that would stand out. We are currently looking at new club supporter tops, jackets, hoodies and a new hat which will just have Breakers written across the top. Our aim over the next two seasons as sponsorships expire is to ensure our tops have the new logo on." With the club (along with Alkimos) moving into its second season as part of the Sun City Little League charter and the move to appoint a charter Development Officer to assist with coach and player development, the future for the club is positive. "We are excited to see where the future of these clubs in this growth corridor takes the sport", said BWA Participation Programs Manager David Hayes. "It is important that kids are getting a good quality baseball experience including good coaching and being retained in the Sun City area. North Coast is certainly making good steps to ensure this is happening and a refreshed brand reflects the club's approach to developing the game in the area." This season is looking positive as we continue to grow and develop our club to be the best it can be. This year, we have introduced a new online registration portal, Sportlomo. All registrations will now take place through the portal. Payments of fees will continue by credit card through the portal as done previously. Fee structures are outlined in the portal including a $10 fundraising levy. The committee has worked hard and after a successful 2019/20 season we have managed to lower fees. The season opens from the October 17th for both junior and senior baseball, playing through to mid-March and with a break over Christmas. There are still some vacant positions on the committee where we will be looking for assistance to ensure the season runs as smooth as we can make it, so please consider investing some of you time to help where you can. KR has both a Facebook and Instagram account, so follow our social media for the latest announcements from around the club and the diamond sports community. Also be sure to check out our website for club contacts and resources as well as a range of merchandise for order. We look forward to seeing you all and for a great 2020/21 season.
