Schools are encouraged to learn more and nominate for this year’s events by the end of this week: Help us celebrate the past and build a brighter future for baseball in WA. Please donate to the Baseball WA Heritage Museum or Grassroots Development Funds.
WA baseball wouldn't be possible without the support of our amazing community. This month, we invite all baseball families, past and present, to make a voluntary, tax-deductible donation to the Baseball WA Heritage Museum or Grassroots Development Funds. Any support, whether big or small, will help us honour the past and build a brighter future for baseball across the state. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Baseball WA is pleased to announce the 2023 Showcase will now be conducted as a Showcase Combine, a variation of the previous Showcase we’ve run before, spanning over three days from 22-24 September.
The venue for the event will remain at Empire Ballpark. During the combine, participants will undergo various player assessments, including testing and both live and simulated game play. This serves as a crucial baseline assessment for players as they commence the season. We invite all players within the following age ranges to register and take part in the 2023 Showcase Combine: Under 16’s State Team: Birth Years 2008 – 2009 Under 18’s State Team: Birth Years 2006 – 2007 It is highly recommended that all players aspiring to try out for the U16 or U18 State Teams attend this combine however, this Showcase is not limited to only players who want to try out. Players may simply want to prepare for the season and understand their testing metrics. The data collected from all components of the event will still play a significant role in those pursuing the team selection process. To ensure that all participants are adequately prepared and equipped for success, we have organised a free pre-season workshop. This workshop will be conducted by Andy Kyle and Johnny Ogilvie on Saturday 5 August at Empire Ballpark. The workshop will provide players with a comprehensive 6-week preparation program to ensure they are fully ready for the combine in September or the summer season ahead. Please see below details for the workshop and the combine: Workshop: Saturday 5 August @ Empire ballpark Combine: 22, 23, 24 September @ Empire Ballpark Cost: $150 per player (+fees and charges) Inclusions: Pre-Season Workshop, Combine Testing, Shirt & Cap Register here: 2023 Showcase Combine If you have any further questions, please email [email protected]. |
