West Australian infielder Dylan Bojarski is the latest Aussie to commit to Vernon College.
The 18-year-old, who was part of the National Junior Squad this year, says the Texas school is a great choice for him as he chases his goal of playing professionally. “I have heard lots of good things about Vernon and the baseball program they run,” Bojarski told baseball.com.au. “They care about player progression…they have a high quality baseball development program that I believe will benefit me to achieve my goals of becoming better and playing professional baseball. “The college plays against many other strong colleges (and) being part of a good level of baseball will also help myself improve.” The Swan Districts Swans and Carine Cats product said his parents and brother Ulrich had played a key role in his development and journey. “Since a young age my dad has been watching baseball videos to help teach me how to get better,” Bojarski said. “He would relay all this information to me so that I could become a better player. “He would throw endless batting practice to me and my brother no matter how tired he was or what day it was. “My mum always drove me to training or gym sessions no matter how often they were, she would always be there to support me no matter what (and) helped me mentally with my game to stay focused and to believe in myself.” Bojarski won gold with WA a the 2020 U-18 Australian Youth Championship in Geelong in his fourth nationals appearance for his state. He scored a pair of runs in the thrilling championship game win over Queensland. Bojarski has made 10 WA State League 1 appearances for the Swans this season. He previously represented Team Australia at the 2015 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup. Healthway Celebrates 30 Years of Supporting Grassroots Sports & Promoting Healthy Lifestyles2/12/2021
Baseball WA acknowledges Healthway’s 30th anniversary today and thanks the Western Australia Government’s health promotion agency for all its support over the years.
Since 1991, Healthway has funded more than 5,600 organisations with $455 million in grants. The organisation remains committed to promoting and facilitating good health and encouraging healthy lifestyles in the Western Australian community. Healthway has been a proud partner of WA baseball for all 30 years and proudly supports all diamond sports including tee-ball and softball across the state. From Little League all the way through to Perth Heat in the ABL, Healthway has encouraged people of all ages to get involved and enjoy active lifestyles and healthy choices. “Thank you to Healthway for all the support for baseball and diamond sports throughout the last 30 years,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “Thanks to Healthway, we are able to offer more opportunities and resources for our clubs, members, and regions ensuring everyone understands the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and gets a chance to take part in our great game.” Smoke-free areas and a reduction in the promotion of unhealthy brands in sport are just some of the ways Healthway has supported baseball across WA over the years. It all began with Parry Field, the former home of WA baseball which was the first sporting venue in Australia to go smoke-free in the early ‘90s. The strong connection between Healthway and baseball continues to this day with the Think Again Little League State Championships, the Perth Heat naming rights partnership, and additional support for many more baseball participation programs.
