Carine Cats 2 v Rockingham Rams 3 This Friday night matchup saw the Rams defeat Carine 3-2. Rockingham pitchers allowed just four hits. Zachary Gomersall was credited with the victory after allowing two hits and zero runs over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking one. Joshua Diggins threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen after Brock Molloy started the game, giving up two hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Tarrant Reimers took the loss for Carine. The hurler went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out five. Cayden Nicoletto went yard in the fourth inning as Rockingham tallied seven hits total. Nicoletto had a 3-for-3 day as Thomas Flynn and Chase Diggins also had multiple hits. Cameron Landy went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits. Rockingham has a 8-15 record with upcoming games v South Perth and Wanneroo. Carine Cats 6 v Braves Baseball Club 10 Six RBIs from Tarrant Reimers weren't enough as Carine fell to the Braves 10-6 on Sunday afternoon. Reimers drove in runs on a home run in the first and a grand slam in the fourth. Carine got the offense going in the first when Reimers homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. The Braves pulled away for good with four runs in the second as Joel Beches homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Kevin Clark drew a walk to score a run and Sean Garratt was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. The Braves scored four runs in the top of the fourth when Jaxon Date singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Joel Hughes induced Lachlan Russell to hit into a fielder's choice for another run. Reimers homered on a 3-1 count in the bottom half to clear the bases. Todd Hatcher earned the victory on the mound for the Braves as the lefty went five innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out nine. Declan Phillips took the loss for Carine. The righthander went two and a third innings, allowing four runs on four hits with one strikeout. Both teams had six hits with Date and Beches recording multiple for the Braves. The team didn't commit a single error in the field as Cody Parkinson had the most chances with ten. Carine Cats 5 v Braves Baseball Club 6 Despite a 4-run deficit in the third inning, Carine almost came all the way back, eventually falling 6-5 to the Braves on Sunday night. Carine scored five runs in the failed comeback. Josh Davies, Tarrant Reimers, and Chase Mitchell all picked up RBIs in the rally. The Cats were right in it until the Braves walked in the sixth inning. The Braves had scored first with an RBI double from Kevin Clark. They scored three more runs in the third on a home run by Sean Garratt. Carine Cats SL1 put up three runs in the fifth inning on a home run by Reimers. The Cats evened things up at five in the bottom of the eighth inning as Mitchell doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Flynn McGahan earned the victory on the hill for the Braves. The righty surrendered one run on four hits over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Alex Oehme started, throwing six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out three. Cody Holt took the loss for Carine. The bulldog lasted one inning, allowing two hits and one run while walking one. Jacob Stanton started the game for Carine, throwing five innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one. The Cats had 11 hits and two home runs in the game as Reimers went for the long ball in the fifth and Davies went deep in the third. Davies led the team with three hits in four at bats while Jeffrey Chandler also had multiple hits. The Braves totaled nine hits in the game. Clark went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits while Jack Rigden had two. The Braves didn't make any errors with Clark taking nine chances in the field. Carine plays Perth next while the 17-5-2 Braves play Victoria Park and Morley next. Swan Districts Swans 5 v Morley Eagles 6 It was Webb Gordon Memorial Day at Swan Districts Baseball Club as a walk-off left the Swans on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Morley on Sunday afternoon, despite out-hitting the Eagles eight to seven. The Eagles trailed 5-4 in the top of the seventh inning when Adrian Blount singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. The Swans got on the board in the first when Brody Clarkson doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs. Caiden Deal led the Eagles to victory on the mound. The hurler went three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out four and walking zero. Riley Franklin started the game, covering four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out two. Dillian Clarkson took the loss for the Swans, allowing seven hits and six runs over six and a third innings. Daniel Johnston went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Swans in hits. The team didn't commit a single error in the field as Clarkson had the most chances with six. Aaron Bonomi led Morley with two hits in four at bats. Swan Districts Swans 1 v Morley Eagles 2 The Swans watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 2-1 loss to Morley on Sunday evening. The Eagles scored on singles by Kieran Chapman and Christopher House in the first inning. The pitching was strong with five strikeouts on both sides. Lachy Southee took the win for Morley. The fireballer surrendered zero runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out four. Brendan Sing threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Riley Moore took the loss for the Swans. The righthander lasted nine innings, allowing 11 hits and two runs while striking out five and walking zero. Kirk Peacock had a long ball in the eighth inning for the Swans as they tallied nine hits in the game. Brody Clarkson and Dylan Bojarski had two hits apiece. Victoria Park Belmont Reds 5 v Gosnells Hawks 6 Sunday's game against the Hawks was a heartbreaker for Victoria Park Belmont Reds as they lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat. The game was tied at five with Gosnells Hawks batting in the top of the seventh when Jamie White drew a walk, scoring one run. The Hawks got their offense started in the first as Joshua Silvi singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. The Reds put up three runs in the third, led by RBIs from Joshua Greenham and Chris Dawson. Kane Silvi pitched the Hawks to victory. The righthander surrendered five runs on six hits over six innings, striking out five. Louis Scaramella threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen, recording the last three outs to earn the save. Mathew Martin took the loss for the Reds, covering one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out one. Corey Brown started the game for the Reds. The pitcher allowed nine hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Jack Smalpage homered in the first for the Reds as Trent McDonnell, Dawson, Josh Paull, Greenham, and Ryan Boyer all had one hit. Victoria Park Belmont Reds 9 v Gosnells Hawks 13 Victoria Park Belmont watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-9 loss to Gosnells Hawks on Sunday night. The Hawks scored in the first on a 2-RBI double by Robin Adamson and a wild pitch by Liam Collins. They scored more in the third with a home run by Adamson and singles by Callan Silvi, Louis Scaramella and Collins. The Hawks scored seven runs in the third with RBIs from Adamson, Silvi, Scaramella, and Collins. The Reds notched six runs in the sixth inning with RBIs from Joshua Cosgrove, Sean Downes, Taiyo Kurosawa, Trent McDonnell, and Josh Paull. Adam Millson was the winning pitcher for the Hawks, throwing five innings, allowing seven hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Scaramella, Joshua Silvi, and Silvi all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Daniel Meloncelli took the loss for the Reds. The pitcher allowed eight hits and eight runs over two innings, walking one. The Hawks tallied two home runs on the day as Adamson went yard in the third and Silvi had a long ball in the sixth. The Reds racked up 14 hits on the day as Paull went 3-for-6 and Joshua Greenham, Downes, Ryan Boyer, and McDonnell all had multiple hits. The Hawks saw the ball well today, racking up 18 hits in the game as Silvi went 4-for-5 and Adamson, Scaramella, Collins, and Lee Wisby all collected multiple hits. The Hawks have a 14-9-2 record going into games v South Perth and Rockingham. The 12-13 Reds play the Braves and Wembley next. Wembley Magpies 1 v Wanneroo Giants 7 Wembley had trouble keeping up with Wanneroo in a 7-1 loss on Sunday afternoon. The Magpies got their offense started in the second when Jayson Brown singled. Jay Bullingham was the winning pitcher for Wanneroo. The righthander went five innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out four and walking one. Nick Alexiou took the loss for Wembley. The righty surrendered seven runs on ten hits over six innings, striking out four. Joshua Houston, Adam Van Brakel, Alexiou, and Brown all had one hit to lead the Magpies as the team didn't commit a single error in the field. Van Brakel had six chances, the most on the team. Wanneroo had 11 hits in the game, with multiple to Byron Armstrong, Daniel Stephenson, Nick Irwin, and Ben King. The Giants didn’t make any errors either as Irwin had the most plays with nine. Wembley Magpies 0 v Wanneroo Giants 12 Wembley fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-0 loss to Wanneroo on Sunday night. The Giants took the lead on an RBI single from Daniel Stephenson. A single by Joris Van Ballegooy in the third inning was a positive for the Magpies. Chris King earned the win, lasting five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out four. Jackson Riley threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Chris Crawford took the loss for Wembley. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out three. Van Ballegooy and Jose Miguel Fuentes each collected one hit to lead the Magpies while the Giants totaled 15 hits. Dawson Summers, Madison Beaird, Stephenson, and Courtney Jones all had multiple hits while the team didn’t make any errors. Jones had the most fielding chances with seven. Wanneroo has 23 wins and just two losses with a game at Rockingham this Sunday while Wembley looks for a seventh win against the Swans. South Perth Cubs 9 v Perth Baseball Club 14 The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where Perth came out on top against South Perth, 14-9. Perth got things started in the first inning when Jared Pirone drew a walk, scoring one run. They also scored four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Bryant Ezzard Jnr and Matt Durbin, all driving in runs in the frame. The Cubs scored four runs in the third inning with singles by Adam Barbarich and Brett Walters and a groundout by Bryce Ruksenas. Durbin was on the mound for Perth, allowing five hits and six runs over three innings, striking out five. Caleb Goodwin was on the pitcher's mound for the Cubs, surrendering eight runs on two hits over one and one-third innings with a strikeout. Tyler Paull and James Watson entered the game as relief, throwing three and a third innings each. Perth socked two home runs on the day. Ezzard Jnr had a long ball in the fifth inning and Pirone had a homer in the second inning. South Perth tied things up at one in the bottom half as Scott Cornish doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. After the Hawks scored one run in the top of the fifth on an error, the Cubs answered with one of their own when Tanner McCarn was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. The Hawks scored three runs in the sixth with RBIs from Silvi, Lee Wisby, and Robin Adamson. Ryan Nuttall induced a groundout from Chase Diggins to finish off the game. The Braves scored in the first as Jordan Dyer hit a two-run homer. They notched five runs in the third inning thanks to singles by Jack Rigden and Dyer, a home run by Kevin Clark, and a groundout by Jaxon Date. A double by Tomas Swinson in the second inning was a positive for Rockingham. Alex Oehme pitched the Braves to victory. The lefthander allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one. Nuttall threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Zachary Gomersall took the loss for the Rams after giving up 11 runs on 11 hits over two and two-thirds innings. Todd Hatcher started the game for the Braves, going three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out five and walking zero. The Braves launched two home runs on the day. Clark went deep in the third after Dyer had a dinger in the first. The team had 12 hits in the game with two apeice from Sean Garratt, Dyer, Joel Beches, and Rigden. Swinson went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead the Rams in hits. The team didn't commit a single error in the field. Joshua Diggins had three chances in the field, the most on the team. Swan Districts Swans 2 v Victoria Park/Belmont Reds 7 - Jan 31 The Swans SL1 fell 7-2 to Victoria Park on Sunday despite out-hitting them eight to seven. Mathew Martin earned the victory on the mound for the Reds, allowing seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking zero. Daniel Meloncelli threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Dillian Clarkson took the loss for the Swans, surrendering four runs on six hits over five innings, striking out one. The Swans totaled eight hits. Tyson Noel and Dylan Bojarski had two hits apeice. The Reds tallied seven hits on the day. Jack Smalpage and Joshua Greenham each collected multiple hits as Josh Paull had two of the team's four stolen bases. Wanneroo Giants 4 v South Perth 2 - Jan 31 Wanneroo took home a 4-2 victory over South Perth on Sunday. The Cubs got their offense in the first when Tanner McCarn singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. The Giants evened things up at two in the bottom of the second as Dawson Summers singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. Wanneroo pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning as Summers doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Jay Bullingham was credited with the victory for Wanneroo. The pitcher allowed seven hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking zero. Chris King and Jackson Riley entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close it out in relief. Riley recorded the last three outs to earn the save.. Tyler Paull took the loss for the Cubs, giving up three runs on five hits over five innings, striking out one. Summers went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Giants in hits. The team didn't commit a single error in the field while Courtney Jones had the most chances with seven. Baseball WA will round out February 2021 with an exciting array of community engagement activities for the Festival of Baseball, made possible through the support of the WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. After a busy summer featuring ABL action, the Tee-Ball Super Challenge, MP70 Summer Champs, and State League 1 games at Empire Ballpark, there will be new opportunities for players, umpires, and scorers with the upcoming engagement and educational events:
