Harcher State League is heating up with Rockingham, UWA Magpies, Wanneroo, Swan Districts, and Perth taking out the wins this past weekend.

Rockingham Rams 19, South Perth Souths 14
Ashton Crouch showed a strong eye at the plate on Sunday, as Crouch walked five times while leading Rockingham Rams to a 19-14 victory over South Perth Souths.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Rockingham collected 15 hits and South Perth had 17 in the high-scoring affair.
Rams got on the board in the second inning after Korbyn Wilson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
South Perth flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on seven hits to take a 7-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.
South Perth scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Adam Barbarich singled, scoring one run, Caleb Goodwin homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Daniel Atkinson tripled, scoring one. A wild pitch brought home one more run.
Rockingham flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring nine runs on four hits to take a 14-13 lead. Lachlan Cahill hit a bases-clearing single.
Simon Baumer’s single helped South Perth tie the game at 14 in the bottom of the seventh.
In the top of the eighth, Rockingham broke up the tie when David Nichols singled, scoring one run. A single by Crouch followed to extend the lead to 17-14.
Brock Molloy started the game for Rockingham. He gave up 12 hits and 12 runs (nine earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.
Goodwin led things off on the mound for South Perth, giving up five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out four and walking seven.
Rockingham’s Vinnie Tarantola and Cahill each appeared in relief.
Rams collected 15 hits total as Jesse Sequeira went 3-for-6 at the plate. Cahill had three RBIs from the number seven spot in the lineup. The infielder went 2-for-5 on the day.
Tarantola, Jake Sheppard, and Nichols each collected multiple hits. Crouch led Rams with five of the team’s 15 walks. Crouch and Sheppard each stole multiple bases as the team had 11 total.
South Perth piled up 17 hits in the game. Jaxon Limpus set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading South Perth with four hits in six at-bats. Baumer, Goodwin, Barbarich, Kane Cole, and Limpus each drove in two runs.
Noah Green, Cameron Landy, and Atkinson each collected multiple hits as Green stole two bases. South Perth turned one double play in the game.
Rockingham welcome Morley on Sunday for their next game while South Perth visits Wanneroo on Saturday.
Swan Districts Swans 4, Carine Cats 2
Swan Districts Swans outdid Carine Cats 4-2 on Sunday at Maida Vale Reserve D1. Carine got on the board in the second inning after Josh Molen singled, scoring one run.
Swan Districts took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Michael De Gasperis homered to left field and Carine committed an error, each scoring one run.
Cats scored on a wild pitch, which helped Carine tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.
Swan Districts took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. De Gasperis singled, scoring one run to give Swans a 3-2 lead.
Dillian Clarkson earned the win for Swans. The lefty gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out one and walking none.
John Carlstein took the loss for Carine. The reliever went one-third of an inning, giving up one run on two hits with no strikeouts or walks.
Cameron Liss stepped on the hill first for Swans. The righty surrendered four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking five.
Carine starter Tim Robinson gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings with no strikeouts and two walks.
De Gasperis drove the middle of the lineup, leading Swan Districts with two runs batted in.
The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Dan Carter, De Gasperis, and Cameron Phelts each collected two hits for Swans. Phelts had two of the team’s four stolen bases while the defense turned one double play.
Molen went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Carine in hits. Cats turned four double plays.
Swan Districts host Vic Park Belmont on Sunday and Carine has a doubleheader at Braves.
UWA Magpies 11, Victoria Park Belmont 2
Michael Albertini drove in four runs on three hits to lead UWA Magpies past Victoria Park Belmont 11-2 on Sunday at Forster Park. Albertini hit a grand slam to center field in the third inning.
UWA Magpies scored six runs in the third on the way to victory. Matthew Reyes hit a solo homer, followed up by Albertini’s grand slam and Riley Spring’s RBI double.
UWA Magpies were first to get on the board in the second when Bradley Tate homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Nick Alexiou stepped on the bump first for UWA Magpies. The starter allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking three.
Curtis Bacon started on the mound for Vic Park, giving up eight hits and six runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none.
UWA Magpies amassed 16 hits in the game. Alexiou and Albertini each collected three hits for UWA Magpies. Bass Cooper, Jake Wilson, Spring, and Joris Van Ballegooy each collected multiple hits.
UWA Magpies turned one double play in the game as they were sure-handed in the field and didn’t make any errors. Reyes had the most chances with nine.
Cody Van Der Graaf, Reds’ number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Josh Paull and Van Der Graaf each drove in one run. Vic Park’s defense turned two double plays in the game.
UWA Magpies will travel to Gosnells on Friday and Vic Park Belmont heads to Swan Districts on Sunday.
Perth 7, Gosnells Hawks 4
Perth topped Gosnells 7-4 on Sunday at Inglewood Oval. Gosnells got on the board in the first inning after Robin Adamson doubled, scoring one run.
Perth captured a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the second when Jalen McGee and Josh MGee were both struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Lee Wisby induced Brady Oliphant to hit into a fielder’s choice but two runs scored.
A single by McGee extended the Perth lead to 7-1 in the bottom of the third.
Riley Oliphant earned the win for Perth. The reliever surrendered one hit and two runs over one inning, striking out one and walking four.
Brian (Tanner) Jessen-Dalton stepped on the mound first for Perth. He gave up four hits and one run over four innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Sam Forrest stepped on the bump first for Gosnells, giving up no hits but four runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking four.
Matteo Pizziconi tossed one inning of zero-run ball for Perth in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out none and walking none.
Jordano Vivona, Ronnie Sweeny, Finlay Duncan, and McGee each collected one hit for Perth. McGee went 1-for-3 at the plate as the infielder led the team with three runs batted in.
Perth had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game with two free passes for Kaine Newham, Sweeny, and Oliphant. Sweeny and Duncan each stole multiple bases as Perth had six SBs total, plus one double play on defense.
Adamson led Gosnells with two hits in five at-bats. Wisby took two of the team’s seven walks while the defense turned three double plays.
Gosnells takes on UWA Magpies on Friday night and Perth plays Wanneroo at home this Sunday.
Wanneroo Giants 4, Braves 3
Wanneroo Giants defeated Braves 4-3 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. It was tied at three in the bottom of the eighth when Owen Pilcher singled, scoring one run.
Braves got on the board in the second inning after Jack Rigden singled, scoring one run.
Jacob Santich singled, which helped Wanneroo tie the game at three in the bottom of the seventh.
Frazer Brice earned the win for Wanneroo, giving up two hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking two.
Daniel Schmidt took the loss for Braves. The left-handed pitcher went two innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out none and walking none.
Jacob Myer stepped on the mound first for Wanneroo. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking none.
Matt Kennelly stepped on the bump first for Braves. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking three.
Wanneroo piled up nine hits in the game. Courtney Jones and Nicholas Riley each collected two hits for Wanneroo. Dawson Summers went 1-for-4 at the plate as the left-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in.
Joel Beches went 3-for-5 to lead Braves in hits while Daniel Choi picked up an RBI on a 1-for-3 day. Beches stole four of the team’s seven bases while the defense turned one double play.
Wanneroo welcomes South Perth on Friday for their next game and Braves host a doubleheader vs. Carine.
