Sporting Schools is a $240 million Australian Government initiative designed to help schools to increase children’s participation in sport, and to connect them with community sporting opportunities.
Sporting Schools programs are provided free to children and their families to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life.
To help achieve this, Sport Australia has partnered with more than 30 national sporting organisations (NSOs). There is a program for primary schools, and a targeted program for Year 7 and 8 students in secondary schools.

COACHING OPPORTUNITY: Sporting Schools Facilitators
Baseball WA is seeking suitably motivated and available coaches to join our Sporting Schools team.
We are looking for additional facilitators to ensure all job requests are covered. Facilitators will deliver tee-ball, machine pitch, and Baseball5 to local schools in their region so we can meet growing demand.
An hourly rate is paid to all facilitators with flexible availability.
This is a casual, at-call facilitator opportunity rather than a role with guaranteed weekly hours. Sporting Schools sessions are generated by bookings from schools, so the days, times and locations vary throughout each school term. All delivery takes place during school hours.
Facilitators nominate when they are available through our rostering system. When a school booking matches a facilitator’s availability and is within a reasonable travelling distance, Baseball WA can offer or allocate those sessions to that facilitator. This makes the role particularly suitable for people who have some weekday availability and want occasional paid coaching work that can fit around other commitments, rather than someone seeking a set number of hours each week.
The volume of work also varies across the year. Term 4 and Term 1 are generally our busiest periods, while other terms can be considerably quieter, so there should be no expectation of a guaranteed number of shifts or hours. Depending on a school’s booking, an opportunity might involve an individual session, several sessions across a school day, or a program delivered over several weeks.
Facilitators are currently paid an hourly rate for their time on site. Before bookings can be allocated, facilitators also need to complete the required coaching accreditation, Working With Children Check and Sporting Schools registration/onboarding.
