Gosnells, UWA Magpies, Wanneroo, Braves, Swan Districts, and Morley were this weekend’s winners in Harcher State League. Wanneroo, Braves, Morley, and Vic Park remain in the Top 4 right now.

Gosnells Hawks 5, Morley Eagles 4
Gosnells Hawks bested Morley Eagles 5-4 on Sunday at Tom Bateman Sporting Complex Reserve.
Morley got on board in the top of the second inning after Luke Hughes doubled and Aaron Bonomi walked, each scoring one run.
Gosnells flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 5-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Louis Scaramella that drove in two.
Jack Burt earned the win for Gosnells, allowing one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking two.
Lachlan Waite took the loss for Morley, giving up five runs (two earned) in four innings with four hits, three strikeouts, and a walk.
Tim Leitch stepped on the hill first for Gosnells, giving up four hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking six.
Scaramella led Gosnells with two hits in three at-bats.
Sam Abbott led Morley with two hits in three at-bats. Matt Dixon, Hughes, and Bonomi each drove in one run for Morley. Dixon had two of the team’s eight walks.
Morley Eagles 22, Gosnells Hawks 2
Ben Crook drove in five runs on two hits to lead Morley Eagles past Gosnells Hawks 22-2 on Sunday. Crook hit a grand slam to right field in the first inning and hit an RBI double in the third.
Morley won thanks in part to 15 runs in the first inning. Matt Dixon hit an RBI single and Riley Hall indued Luke Hughes to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Cody Nicholas had a 2-RBI double, Cameron Bahr took a bases-loaded walk, and Aaron Bonomi hit a bases-clearing single. Sam Abbott had a three-run homer before Crook’s grand slam.
Eagles added seven runs on six hits in the top of the third. Dixon had an RBI single as Abbott and Brendan Sing drew walks to score one run each. Brandon Migro singled, scoring two runs, Koskei Partington-Hopes singled, scoring one run, and Crook doubled, scoring another.
Troy Cruz started the game for Morley. He gave up one hit and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking two.
Gosnells starter Hall gave up six hits and 13 runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking five.
Morley accumulated 14 hits in the game. As the number seven hitter, Nicholas showed the depth of Morley’s lineup, leading them with three hits in three at-bats. Dixon, Bonomi, and Abbott each collected multiple hits.
Eagles had a strong eye at the plate, taking 10 walks for the game as Dixon and Crook took advantage of two free passes each. Bonomi stole three bases as the defense didn’t commit a single error in the field. Abbott had the most fielding chances with five.
Taj Varga led Gosnells with one hit in one at-bat. Nick Davey and Varga each drove in one run for Gosnells as the Hawks defense didn’t make any errors. Braedan Stannard made the most plays with four.
Morley play at home on Sunday against UWA Magpies in their next game while Gosnells head to Wanneroo.
UWA Magpies 15, South Perth Souths 7
Jake Willson showed a strong eye at the plate on Sunday, walking four times as UWA Magpies won 15-7 over South Perth Souths.
The winners scored first with a bases-loaded walk by Adam England in the opening frame.
Jaxon Limpus tripled to tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
UWA Magpies returned to the lead in the top of the fifth when Willson drew a walk, scoring one run, Bradley Tate also brought in a run on a walk while Henry Kellen singled, scoring two runs.
UWA Magpies scored five runs on three hits in the top of the ninth inning. Willson drew a walk, scoring one run, Daniel Atkinson induced Tate to hit into a fielder’s choice but one run scored, and Jacob Davila doubled, scoring three runs.
Nick Alexiou stepped on the bump first for UWA Magpies. The righty gave up seven hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking three. Fujiura Masato appeared in relief.
Caleb Goodwin started on the bump for South Perth. He gave up two hits and five runs (four earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking eight.
Kellen and Davila each collected two hits for UWA Magpies with five RBIs apiece. The team took 19 walks throughout the game, including five for England.
South Perth tallied 11 hits in the game, with two apiece for Goodwin, Oliver McMahon, and Limpus. Lyndan Morgan, Jai Hewitt, Atkinson, Goodwin, Brett Walters, McMahon, and Limpus each drove in one run.
South Perth and UWA Magpies play again on Wednesday night.
Wanneroo Giants 7, Victoria Park Belmont 6
Wanneroo built a 4-run lead in the second inning and then held off Victoria Park Belmont’s charge for a 7-6 victory on Sunday. Reds made it a close game, closing the gap by scoring on an error, a walk, and two singles.
Giants didn’t take the lead until later in the game, which was tied at six in the bottom of the sixth when Ethan Cooper singled, scoring one run.
Wanneroo got on board in the bottom of the first after Courtney Jones singled and Vic Park committed an error, each scoring one run.
Cooper’s single and an error helped Wanneroo extend their early lead in the second.
Vic Park flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on five hits to take a 6-5 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Taiyo Kurosawa on a full count that drove in two.
Wanneroo took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the sixth on singles by Nicholas Riley and Cooper.
Jacob Myer earned the win for Wanneroo. He threw three scoreless innings with no hits, just one walk and four strikeouts.
Mizuki Akatsuka took the loss for Vic Park, going three innings with two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking none. Starter Mathew Martin gave up seven hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking two.
Wanneroo starter Rob Sorensen gave up two hits and one run over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Frazer Brice collected the save and Callum Schipp also appeared in relief.
Wanneroo tallied 11 hits in the game, including two apiece for Cooper, Jones, Owen Pilcher, and Riley. Jones drove the middle of the lineup, leading Giants with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day.
Eddie Satisky went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Reds in hits. Kurosawa had two RBIs on a 1-for-5 day while the defense turned one double play.
Next up for Wanneroo is a game at Carine Cats on Sunday. Vic Park Belmont will play a doubleheader at Gosnells.
Braves 11, Rockingham Rams 10
Both Braves and Rockingham Rams had their offenses going on Sunday at Hourglass Reserve, but Braves eventually prevailed 11-10. Each side had 11 hits.
Despite falling down by six runs in the sixth inning, Rockingham battled back, closing the gap by scoring on a walk, a groundout, a single, and a double.
Braves got on board in the top of the first after Kevin Clark doubled and Matt Kennelly singled, each scoring a run.
Rockingham responded quickly, scoring on singles from Jesse Sequeira and Ashton Crouch, plus a Braves error and fielder’s choice.
Braves retook the lead in the top of the second after a hit by pitch, error, walk, and fielder’s choice. They added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Jack Rigden doubled and Clark singled, each scoring a run alongside an error.
Braves scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo homer to center field by Kennelly.
Rockingham tied it up in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a walk by Darryl Artis, a groundout by Joshua Diggins, a single by Vinnie Tarantola, and a double by David Nichols.
A sacrifice fly by James Smibert gave Braves an 11-10 lead in the top of the ninth.
Kennelly stepped on the mound first for Braves. The right-hander gave up seven hits and four runs (three earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking three. Todd Hatcher appeared in relief.
Rockingham starter Brock Molloy surrendered six hits and nine runs (one earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three.
Braves accumulated 11 hits in the game as Clark led the way going 3-for-5. Kennelly and Clark were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, each driving in three runs.
Braves had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks with two apiece for Daniel Choi and Rigden. Beches had four of the team’s five stolen bases.
Neretlis, Tarantola, and Lachlan Cahill each collected two hits for Rockingham. Nichols provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Rams with three RBIs. Tomas Swinson took two of the team’s six walks as they turned one double play on defense.
Rockingham takes on Swan Districts this Friday while Braves will play a doubleheader at Perth on Sunday.
Swan Districts Swans 7, Perth 1
Cameron Liss was dominant on the mound, striking out 11 in Swan Districts’ 7-1 victory over Perth on Sunday at Inglewood Oval. Liss gave up one hit over seven scoreless innings with four walks.
Swan Districts won thanks in part to four runs in the seventh inning. Brody Clarkson hit a solo home run to left field, Riley Ozanne drew a walk, scoring a run, and Jordano Vivona induced Michael De Gasperis to hit into a fielder’s choice but one run scored. Anthony Daniele also singled to score a run.
Swan Districts got on board in the fourth inning after Clarkson doubled, scoring one run.
Perth started Jake White allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking three.
Dillian Clarkson appeared in relief for Swan Districts Swans.
Boston Foot went 3-for-5 as Swans collected 11 hits overall. Clarkson and Foot drove in two runs each while Daniele and Cameron Phelts had multiple hits, too. Swans practiced patience at the plate with eight walks total. Conor Parry, Ozanne, and Phelts led the team with two free passes each.
Peter Reyes, Austin Moyle, Ronald (Ronnie) Sweeny, and Kyan Bertolini each collected one hit for Perth. Reyes led Perth with one run batted in as the infielder went 1-for-2 on the day.
Perth turned one double play and didn’t make any errors. Benjamin Nesbit had the most chances in the field with 11.
Swan Districts take on Rockingham this Friday and Perth has a Sunday doubleheader vs. Braves.
