Matt Kennelly held the Eagles to a single run over nine innings as Braves advanced to next week’s Harcher State League Grand Final Series.
Braves will play the winner of the Victoria Park Belmont – Wanneroo series, which wraps up Saturday night at 7pm. Reds won the first game 3-2 and Wanneroo reversed the scores in their second game victory.

Braves 6, Morley Eagles 1
James Smibert collected three hits in four at-bats as Braves defeated Morley Eagles 6-1 on Friday at Empire Ballpark.
Braves got on the board in the second inning after Geoff Kerr grounded out, scoring one run.
Sam Abbott hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the eighth for Morley.
Matt Kennelly opened the game for Braves. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and one run over nine innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Kane Silvi stepped on the mound first for Morley. He surrendered three hits and one run over two and one-third innings with no walks.
Braves tallied 10 hits in the game. Sam Kennelly provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led Braves with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 3-for-5 on the day.
Kennelly and Smibert each collected three hits for Braves while Tim Kennelly went 2-for-5.
Braves didn’t commit a single error in the field as Josh Kennelly had the most chances with 15.
Abbott led Morley with one run batted in. He went 1-for-3 on the day. Alex Hall, Abbott, and Mitch Power each collected one hit.
