Challenger Baseball

Challenger baseball is for children 4-21 years with neurological, physical and/or intellectual disabilities. The program aims to provide an opportunity for children with disabilities to enjoy the benefits of baseball and participation in a team sport, in an environment structured to their abilities.

Game Play
All players bat and field in every inning, no one sits off. Each player has a buddy that supports them throughout the game, with batting and fielding. No scores are kept, players receive balls tossed by a coach or hit off a tee when batting. There are no outs, and every player
moves around the bases.

Where and When
Games are played at Wanneroo Giants Baseball Club, Kingsway Sporting Complex, Madeley on Saturday mornings 8:30-9:30am. The season runs from October to March, with a break over the summer school holidays. For more information, please contact challenger.baseball@wanneroogiants.com or phone 0488 026 446.

Volunteer Buddies Wanted
Each player has a buddy who assists them throughout the game. A Buddies role is to help the player when its time to bat, run the bases with them, assist them while fielding, and most importantly, have fun. Knowledge of baseball is not required to be a buddy, just a caring nature and the desire to make a difference. For more information, please contact buddy.coordinator@wanneroogiants.com or phone 0432 877 403.
