The 2024 Women’s Elite Series, a new Club Cup Tournament played on Wednesday nights at Empire Ballpark, continued with Carine Cats and Kalamunda Rangers facing off. Carine held on for a 5-4 victory as the game was broadcast on Streamer (7West Media) as part of a new partnership.
The Women’s Elite Series follows a single-round format for four games, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. Games are seven innings with a two-hour time limit.

Carine Cats 5, Kalamunda Rangers 4
Carine Cats got out to a four-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over Kalamunda Rangers on Wednesday. Rangers closed the gap on a couple of singles to nearly erase the deficit.
Chloe Scott singled to center field, Mylie Watt grounded out, Leah McDonough walked, and Elodie O’Sullivan doubled, each scoring one run for Carine in the second.
Briah Burke led things off on the hill, giving up three hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking six. Scott pitched in relief.
Aimee Martin opened the game for Kalamunda, giving up three hits and four runs over two innings, striking out one and walking three.
Tiah Hope and O’Sullivan each collected two hits for Carine. O’Sullivan, Watt, and Scott each drove in one run for Carine as McDonough led the side with three out of six walks. Hope had three out of seven stolen bases.
Cats turned two double plays in the game with no errors. Watt made seven plays, the most on the team.
Madi Hardwick led Kalamunda with two runs batted in. The left fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Shannon Barnden went 3-for-3 while Jaclyn Zom took four out of nine walks. Zom and Bella Clarke both stole multiple bases with seven total in the game.
