Braves, Perth, Morley, and Wanneroo are holding on to the Harcher State League top four with finals just weeks away. Braves, Wanneroo, Carine, Morley, Perth, Rockingham, and Vic Park all picked up wins in Week 20.

Braves 11, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 0
Braves defeated Victoria Park Belmont 11-0 on Tuesday at Empire Ballpark as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Todd Hatcher and Sam Kennelly each pitched for Braves in the game. Hatcher induced a fly out from Logan Warkentin to get the last out.
Braves got on the board in the sixth inning after Kennelly drew a walk, scoring one run.
Kennelly led things off on the hill for Braves. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Hatcher pitched six innings in relief, allowing five hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking five.
Will Shea stepped on the hill first for Vic Park, giving up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.
James Smibert, Geoff Kerr, Jack Rigden, Ben Drew, Lenny Golding, Josh Kennelly, Kennelly, and Tucker Smith each collected one hit for Braves. Smibert, Kerr, and Rigden each drove in two runs while Kennelly took two of the team’s nine walks. Joel Beches stole two bases.
Braves turned one double play in the game. They were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error as Kevin Clark made the most plays with 10.
Curtis Bacon went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Reds in hits. They had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Joshua Greenham and Joshua Cosgrove led the team with two walks each. The defense turned two double plays in the game.
Wanneroo Giants 7, Swan Districts Swans 3
Wanneroo Giants topped Swan Districts 7-3 on Friday at Empire Ballpark, Thornlie.
Wanneroo got on board in the top of the second inning after Ethan Cooper singled to the right side of the infield, and Henry Schineller walked, each scoring one run.
Swan Districts jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Brody Clarkson flew into a fielder’s choice, Riley Ozanne walked, and a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Giants took the lead, 5-3, in the top of the fourth thanks to singles by Schineller and Jackson Riley.
Zane Morrison earned the win for Wanneroo. The starter allowed four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out five and walking two.
Kye Varrone took the loss for Swan Districts. The hurler went four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out four and walking five.
Wanneroo collected 10 hits in the game, including two each for Schineller, Nicholas Riley, and Riley. Schineller and Riley each drove in two runs while the defense turned one double play.
Clarkson and Ozanne were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Swan Districts. Boston Foot led with two hits in three at-bats. The defense was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Landen Barns had the most fielding chances with seven.
Carine Cats 5, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 2
Carine Cats were triumphant over Victoria Park Belmont 5-2 on Sunday at Forster Park, Cloverdale.
A sacrifice fly by Matthew Goetzmann put Reds on the board in the bottom of the third. A sacrifice fly by Marcus Strother gave Carine Cats the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fifth.
Joshua Cosgrove singled down the left field line, which helped Reds tie the game at two in the bottom of the fifth.
Carine captured the lead, 5-2, in the top of the sixth after Cats scored on a wild pitch, Thomas Summers singled down the left field line, and another wild pitch scored a run.
Nico Antoine started the game for Carine. The pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three.
Mathew Martin started on the hill for Vic Park. The pitcher surrendered eight hits and five runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking one.
Jordan Power threw two and one-third innings of shutout ball for Carine in relief. The reliever gave up zero hits, striking out seven and walking none.
Power and Carlos Salas each collected two hits for Carine. Strother and Summers each drove in one run while Power stole two bases. Carine turned one double play in the game.
Cosgrove and Goetzmann were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Vic Park. Joshua Greenham, Curtis Bacon, Cosgrove, and Ryan Boyer each collected one hit.
Morley Eagles 8, Rockingham Rams 2
Morley Eagles defeated Rockingham Rams 8-2 on Sunday at Crimea Park, Morley thanks in part to five runs in the fifth inning. Alex Hall singled, scoring one run, Jess Williams homered to right field, scoring three runs, and Mitch Graham hit a solo home run to left field.
Eagles were first to get on the board in the opening inning when Nick Ultsch doubled, scoring one run. Morley added one run in the second after Reece Thompson singled down the left field line.
Kane Silvi earned the win for Morley. The starter gave up three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none.
Kodai Kombara took the loss for Rockingham. The pitcher went five innings, surrendering seven runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking two.
Raleigh Pelkonen pitched one inning of shutout ball for Morley in relief. The left-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking one.
Morley collected 11 hits in the game. Williams drove the middle of the lineup, leading with three runs batted in as the cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Ultsch, Thompson, and Hall each collected two hits while the defense turned two double plays in the game.
Joshua Diggins, Stuart Sara, and Sam Sheppard collected two hits for Rockingham. Diggins and Sara each drove in one run while the defense turned one double play in the game. They were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error as Lachlan Cahill had the most chances with six.
Perth 9, Swan Districts Swans 2
Perth defeated Swan Districts 9-2 on Sunday at Inglewood Oval, Mt Lawley thanks in part to five runs in the sixth inning. Spencer Sarringar hit a solo home run to left field, Austin Moyle doubled, Jordano Vivona singled, Benjamin Nesbit hit a sacrifice fly, and Jalen McGee singled, each scoring one run.
Swan Districts got on board in the top of the first inning after Anthony Daniele singled to the left side of the infield, and Riley Ozanne walked, each scoring one run.
Perth tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by Nesbit and a sacrifice fly by Joshua McGee.
Brayden Moyle earned the win for Perth. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking three.
Boston Foot took the loss for Swan Districts. The hurler went five innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out six and walking two.
Cruze Brendon stepped on the bump first for Perth. The hurler surrendered one hit and two runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking five. Jake White and Travis McDonald each came on in relief to shut down Swans.
Perth tallied 11 hits in the game, with two apiece by White, Vivona, McGee, and Nesbit. McGee and Nesbit were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs. The defense turned one double play in the game. Perth was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error as Sarringar made the most plays with seven.
Daniele and Ozanne were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Swans while hitting back-to-back. Daniele and Ozanne were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run. Foot paced the team with three out of nine walks. Swans turned one double play in the game.
Rockingham Rams 6, Morley Eagles 3
Rockingham Rams were victorious against Morley Eagles 6-3 on Sunday at Crimea Park, Morley.
Morley got on the board in the first inning after Vinnie Tarantola induced Mitch Graham to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Jacques Langford hit into a fielder’s choice, which helped Rockingham tie the game at one in the top of the third.
Rams took the lead in the top of the fourth. Kieren Hall induced Jake Sheppard to hit into a fielder’s choice but one run scored, giving them the edge 2-1.
Tarantola stepped on the mound first for Rockingham. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking three.
Hall started on the mound for Morley. The righty gave up four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.
Jesse Sequeira went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Rockingham in hits. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Matt Dixon, Jess Williams, Jayson Miller, and Nick Ultsch each collected one hit for Morley. Graham, Ultsch, and Jeremy Sexton all drove in one run while the defense turned one double play.
Victoria Park Belmont Reds 3, Carine Cats 2
Victoria Park Belmont took Sunday’s game in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 walk-off victory over Carine Cats at Forster Park, Cloverdale. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh when Ryan Boyer singled, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Vic Park pitchers struck out 13, while Carine sat down six.
A balk put Cats on the board in the top of the second. Reds scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth.
Carine took the lead in the top of the sixth. Jordan Power singled, scoring one run, to give Carine the edge, 2-1.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Vic Park went back into the lead after Logan Warkentin singled down the left field line, and Boyer singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Warkentin started on the hill for Vic Park. The pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking four.
Tim Holmes stepped on the hill first for Carine, giving up eight hits and three runs (one earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out six and walking three.
Boyer and Warkentin were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Vic Park. Reds didn’t commit a single error in the field as William Truscott had the most chances with 13.
Power led Carine with one run batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. The defense turned one double play.
Wanneroo Giants 12, Gosnells Hawks 3
Quinn Fatai collected three hits in three at-bats, as Wanneroo Giants defeated Gosnells Hawks 12-3 on Sunday at Tom Bateman Reserve, Thornlie. Fatai singled in the fourth, seventh, and eighth innings.
Wanneroo won thanks in part to seven runs in the seventh inning. Jackson Riley drew a walk, scoring one run, Jarred Hutchins singled, scoring one run, Fatai singled, scoring two runs, Ethan Cooper doubled, scoring two runs, and Henry Schineller doubled, scoring one run.
Giants opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to three singles. Wanneroo first got on board when Adam Barbarich singled, scoring one run.
Tom Bailey earned the win for Wanneroo. The hurler gave up three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one.
Yuki Narita took the loss for Gosnells. The starter went five innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Callum Schipp started on the mound for Wanneroo. The pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Frazer Brice threw three innings of zero-run ball in relief. The righty gave up two hits, striking out four and walking one.
Wanneroo tallied 18 hits in the game with three apiece for Schineller and Fatai. Cooper, Cooper Barber, and Fatai each drove in two runs.
Barbarich, Nicholas Riley, and Daniel Stephenson each collected multiple hits for Giants, while Barber stole two bases. Wanneroo was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error as Stephenson had the most chances with 11.
Lee Wisby, Robin Adamson, and Brendan Warner each collected two hits for Gosnells. Ryan Smith, Adamson, and Warner drove in one run while the defense turned two double plays in the game.
