2025 Intermediate League State Champs – April 19 Recap

Game 1: Wanneroo Giants Blast Past Southern Hills Warriors

Wanneroo Giants cruised to a 14-0 win over Southern Hills Warriors at Mateljan Park. An eight-run third inning sealed the deal, with Connor Branch and Harrison Richardson leading the charge. Declan Burns was dominant on the mound, allowing no hits across three innings. The Giants drew nine walks and stole 11 bases in a clinical all-round performance.


Game 2: Carine Cats Edge Southern Hills Warriors In Tight Battle

Despite out-hitting Carine Cats, Southern Hills Warriors went down 7-5. Isaac Whan blasted a three-run homer early, and Jack Duffy tallied three hits. However, costly errors and a patient Carine lineup helped them fight back. Oscar Ling led Carine’s aggressive baserunning as they stole 11 bases to snatch the win.


Game 3: Wanneroo Giants Prove Too Strong For Swan Hills Aces

Wanneroo Giants smashed Swan Hills Aces 17-2 at Mateljan Park. Jonas Pienaar homered early for the Aces, but the Giants responded with a seven-run first and a dominant second. Jacob Bond drove in four runs while Hayden Thomas went 3-for-3. Harvey Scaife struck out seven to anchor the Giants’ convincing victory.


Game 4: Southern Titans Power Past Coastal Bay Sharks

Southern Titans broke through late to defeat Coastal Bay Sharks 5-1. A patient approach in the sixth delivered five runs, capped by Jak Leitch’s two-RBI single. Braxton Abelha pitched strongly to keep the Sharks scoreless. Noah Wainwright and Arli Botting managed hits for the Sharks, but the Titans’ late burst proved too much.


Game 5: Phoenix Morgan Leads Central Firebirds In Shootout Win

Phoenix Morgan’s grand slam set the tone for Central Firebirds’ wild 18-13 win over Eastern Phantoms. In a game packed with walks and stolen bases, the Firebirds piled on 11 runs in the sixth. Austin Parry led the team with three walks, while the Firebirds ran rampant with 16 steals and played error-free defence.


Game 6: Central Firebirds Dominate Coastal Bay Sharks

Central Firebirds were firing on all fronts in a 13-0 thumping of Coastal Bay Sharks. Summer Hiscock drove in two early runs and pitched five shutout innings. Riley Faulkner and Taj Humble kept the scoreboard ticking, while the Firebirds stole 13 bases and racked up 10 walks in a polished display.
