Baseball WA is now accepting expressions of interest for coaching positions for the Australian Women’s (AWC) and Youth Women’s (AYWC) Championships, in preparation for the 2026 national tournaments, scheduled for April (dates and location to be confirmed).
We are seeking applications for Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Support Staff roles—an exciting opportunity to guide Western Australia’s top women’s baseball athletes on the national stage. Additional support coaches interested in assisting with State Team training are also encouraged to apply.
Head Coach Appointment
The Head Coach will be offered a two-year contract, subject to post-tournament review and ongoing eligibility.
Application Process
Please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form via the link provided, selecting your preferred age group(s) and role(s). Applicants may express interest in both age groups and will be asked to indicate role preferences. A brief coaching resume detailing experience and accreditation level is required.
Mandatory Requirements
Successful candidates must meet the following criteria or be working towards:
- Level C Coaching Accreditation (minimum Level B for Assistant Coaches
- Completion of Sports Integrity/NIF courses
- 2025 Annual Update
- Anti-Doping Fundamentals
- National Integrity Framework training
- Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Introduction
- Sport Australia General Principles
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Coaching Responsibilities
- Plan and execute selection trials in collaboration with the High-Performance Coach
- Coordinate training sessions and game preparations in partnership with Assistant Coaches
- Align team strategies with BA National Foundations Framework
- Lead and manage coaching and support staff
- Evaluate team and individual performance, including coaching staff
- Oversee disciplinary action and report serious incidents to Baseball WA
- Ensure adherence to all National Championship conduct rules
- Uphold Baseball Australia’s and Baseball WA’s Codes of Conduct
- Represent Baseball WA in a professional and positive manner
Selection Timeline
- Submit completed EOI form by 8 September
- Baseball WA High Performance Committee (BWAHPC) will review and appoint the Head Coach (by 6 October); interviews may be conducted if necessary
- Appointed Head Coach will collaborate with the High-Performance Coach to select Assistant Coaches and Executive Officer
- Coaching appointments will be formally announced to WA members
- A post-tournament performance review will be conducted by the BWAHPC
