Carine Cats 10, South Perth 0
Carine Cats kept adding on runs in a 10-0 victory over South Perth on Sunday at Tindale Park D1. An error scored two runs in the first inning.
Carine added one run in the second when Carlos Salas grounded out, making the score 3-0. In the third, Kamil Pejchat doubled to center field and Timothy Holmes grounded out, each scoring one run.
Two more Carine runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 7-0. Eita Samukawa hit a solo home run to center field, and Holmes singled, scoring one run.
Conor Lourey started the game for Carine, allowing four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Takashi Umino stepped on the bump first for South Perth. He allowed three hits and five runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking three.
Carine collected 13 hits in the game. Cameran Brantley led with three hits in four at-bats. Salas, Pejchat, and Holmes each drove in two runs while Samukawa collected two hits in two at-bats. Cats stole four bases and didn’t commit a single error in the field as Pejchat had the most chances with eight.
Craig Saupold, Carlton Branch, Joel Vlasic, and Caleb Goodwin each collected one hit for South Perth.
Carine Cats 11, South Perth 1
Cameran Brantley drove in four runs on three hits to lead Carine Cats past South Perth 11-1 on Sunday at Tindale Park D1. Brantley hit a home run to center field in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring one.
Carine jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Eita Samukawa singled, scoring one run, Brendan Heath doubled, scoring two runs, and Conor Lourey lined out, scoring one run.
South Perth scored one run in the top of the second on a solo home run to center field by Caleb Scorer. Carine added one run in the third after Lourey singled to center field.
Four more Carine runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 9-1. Samukawa singled, scoring one run, and Brantley homered to center field, scoring three runs.
Meylian Marin earned the win for Carine. The pitcher gave up three hits and one run over four and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking none. Jordan Power appeared in relief.
Carlton Branch took the loss for South Perth. The hurler went three innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.
Carine totaled 15 hits in the game. Cooper McDonnell led with four hits in four at-bats from the leadoff position. Lourey, Heath, and Samukawa each collected multiple hits. McDonnell and Heath each stole multiple bases with seven total in the game.
Scorer and Joel Vlasic each collected two hits for South Perth. Scorer led with one run batted in as the right fielder went 2-for-2 on the day.
Braves 11, Rockingham 6
Braves topped Rockingham Rams 11-6 on Sunday at Frankland Park D1. A single by Vincent Tarantola on the sixth pitch of the at-bat put Rams on board in the top of the first.
Braves captured a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the first when Sam Kennelly and Ben Drew doubled, each scoring one run, and Jake Bowey singled, scoring two runs.
Four more Braves runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 8-2. Isaac Keehn induced Joel Beches to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Kevin Clark grounded out, scoring one run, and Tim Kennelly homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Matt Kennelly earned the win for Braves. The hurler gave up four hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Tucker Smith appeared in relief.
Keehn took the loss for Rockingham. The starter went four innings, surrendering eight runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking two.
Braves tallied 11 hits in the game. Bowey, the number seven hitter, led with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Kennelly, Kennelly, and Drew each collected multiple hits while the defense turned one double play in the game.
Rockingham accumulated nine hits. Jax Williams and Tarantola each collected two hits and drove in two runs. Rams turned one double play.
Braves 1, Rockingham 0
Braves defeated Rockingham Rams 1-0 on Sunday at Frankland Park D1 as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Todd Hatcher and Jake Bowey each pitched for Braves in the game. Hatcher induced a groundout from Vincent Tarantola to get the last out.
Both teams were strong on the mound. Braves pitchers struck out eight, while Rockingham sat down two.
Braves were first to get on the board in the fourth when Matt Kennelly singled, scoring one run.
Bowey led things off on the hill for Braves. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Tarantola stepped on the mound first for Rockingham. The hurler allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out two and walking four.
Hatcher tossed one inning of no-run ball for Braves in relief. The pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
Joel Beches, Sam Kennelly, Ben Drew, and Kennelly each collected one hit for Braves. Kennelly went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Yosuke Fujie and Jacques Langford each collected one hit for Rockingham. Rams turned one double play in the game and were sure-handed in the field with no errors. David Nichols made the most plays with seven.
Morley Eagles 9, Gosnells Hawks 1
Morley Eagles defeated Gosnells Hawks 9-1 on Sunday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1 thanks in part to five runs in the fifth inning. Jess Williams hit a grand slam to right field, and Jayson Miller grounded out, scoring one run.
Gosnells opened scoring in the second after Jarrod McKay hit an RBI single.
Matt Dixon homered to left field, scoring three runs in the top of the sixth for Morley. Kieren Chapman hit a solo home run to left field in the seventh.
Kieran Hall led things off on the bump for Morley. The hurler surrendered three hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Takahiro Homma led things off on the hill for Gosnells. The starter surrendered four hits and five runs over five innings, striking out two and walking three.
Lochlan Southee threw two innings of zero-run ball for Morley in relief. The hurler allowed two hits, striking out four and walking one.
Williams went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Chapman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Morley in hits. Eagles were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error as Reece Thompson made the most plays with 11.
McKay went 1-for-3 at the plate and led Gosnells with one run batted in. Tim Leitch led with two hits in three at-bats while the defense turned one double play in the game. Hawks didn’t commit a single fielding error as Robin Adamson had the most chances with nine.
Morley Eagles 13, Gosnells Hawks 1
Matt Dixon collected three hits in four at-bats, as Morley Eagles defeated Gosnells Hawks 13-1 on Sunday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1. Dixon hit a home run to right field in the fourth inning, singled in the fifth, and doubled in the seventh.
Morley won thanks in part to seven runs in the seventh inning. Jeremy Sexton singled, scoring two runs, Jayson Miller singled, scoring one, and George Calverley doubled, scoring two. Next, Reece Thompson grounded out, scoring one run, and Ben Crook singled, scoring another.
Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning after Mitch Graham doubled, scoring two runs, and Thompson singled, scoring one run. Dixon homered to right field, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth for Morley.
Morley starter Koskei Partington-Hopes surrendered four hits and one run over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Brendan Sing, Raleigh Pelkonen, and Warwick Saupold each threw scoreless relief innings.
Patrick Frezza started the game for Gosnells, allowing nine hits and six runs over five innings, striking out none and walking five.
Morley piled up 16 hits in the game. Aaron Bonomi and Dixon each collected three hits while Crook, Miller, and Calverley had two. Jess Williams paced Morley with four of the team’s eight walks.
Robin Adamson, Jarrod McKay, Taj Varga, and Jordan Trainer each collected one hit for Gosnells. Adamson went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Perth 5, Swan Districts 0
Perth defeated Swan Districts 5-0 on Sunday at Charlie Hodder Field D1 as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Kaine Newham, Jai Hewitt, and Boston Foot each pitched for Perth in the game. Hewitt struck out Jackson Stivey to get the last out.
Perth got on board their first time up and extended the early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI fielder’s choices by Dylan Bojarski and Daniel Frey.
Newham earned the win for Perth. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.
Sean Means took the loss for Swan Districts. The hurler went four innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking four.
Foot stepped on the hill first for Perth. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four and walking three. Hewitt pitched one inning of zero-run ball in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits, striking out two and walking none.
Jordano Vivona, Yuki Maeda, and Ben Nesbit each collected one hit for Perth. Bojarski, Nesbit, and Frey each drove in one run while Maeda took two of the team’s seven walks. Nesbit stole two bases with four overall in the game.
Michael De Gasperis, Riley Ozanne, and Jackson Pollard each collected one hit for Swan Districts as the defense turned one double play in the game.
Wanneroo Giants 10, UWA Magpies 0
Daniel Stephenson drove in five runs on one hit to lead Wanneroo past UWA Magpies 10-0 on Sunday at McGillivray Oval D1. Stephenson walked in the first inning, scoring one, and hit a grand slam to center field in the sixth inning, scoring four.
Arnad Mulamekic struck out 10 batters on the day. The pitcher also allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings while walking none.
Wanneroo opened scoring in the top of the first thanks to two walks. Giants first got on the board when Cooper Barber drew a walk, scoring one run.
Giants added six more runs in the top of the sixth inning on four hits. Stephenson hit a grand slam to center field, and Adam Barbarich singled, scoring two runs.
Kyle Poapst started the game for UWA Magpies. The righty allowed one hit and three runs over four innings, striking out four and walking 10.
Harry Wooden, Barbarich, Maxim Fullerton, Stephenson, and Barber each collected one hit for Wanneroo. Barber led with three out of 13 total walks. Wooden, Barber, and Quinn Fatai each stole multiple bases with eight overall in the game.
Jaden Babiuk and Michael Albertini each collected one hit for UWA Magpies.
Wanneroo Giants 16, UWA Magpies 4
Maxim Fullerton drove in four runs on two hits to lead Wanneroo Giants past UWA Magpies 16-4 on Sunday at McGillivray Oval D1. Fullerton hit a home run to right field in the second inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring one.
Wanneroo won thanks in part to nine runs in the fourth inning. Fullerton grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Cooper Barber singled to bring home another. Next, Quinn Fatai singled, scoring two runs, Adam Barbarich doubled, scoring three runs, and Fullerton singled, scoring one.
Wanneroo got on the board in the top of the first inning after Jake Turnbull singled down the right field line, Jacob Santich hit a sacrifice fly, and Barber doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Riley Spring hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the first for UWA Magpies.
Three more Wanneroo runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 6-1. Chris Crawford induced Barbarich to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and Fullerton homered to right field, scoring two runs.
Wanneroo scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Turnbull.
Callum Schipp stepped on the hill first for Wanneroo. The righty allowed five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none. Frazer Brice appeared in relief.
Crawford stepped on the bump first for UWA Magpies. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and six runs (three earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking four.
Wanneroo tallied 10 hits in the game. Barbarich, Fullerton, Barber, and Turnbull each collected two hits while Fatai stole two bases.
Kyle Poapst drove the middle of the lineup, leading UWA Magpies with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. James Bull, the number nine hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats.
