The race to finals is on in Harcher State League! Vic Park, Perth, Morley, Wanneroo, Rockingham, Braves, and Carine were this past week’s winners.
Morley, Perth, Braves, Wanneroo, and Carine make up the top five right now.

Victoria Park Belmont Reds 4, Wanneroo Giants 0
Victoria Park Belmont Reds bested Wanneroo Giants 4-0 on Tuesday at Baseball Park.
Vic Park got on board in the top of the first inning after Jack Smalpage singled down the right field line and Ryan Boyer grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run. They added one run in the third after Ben Warrington singled down the right field line.
Andrew Hurrelbrink stepped on the hill first for Reds, giving up five hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one.
Robert Sorensen stepped on the hill first for Wanneroo. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking none.
Ryusuke Ito pitched two innings of zero-run ball for Vic Park in relief. The hurler surrendered two hits, striking out four and walking one.
Vic Park collected 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Kanta Suzuki led with three hits in four at-bats. Warrington and Smalpage were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run. Boyer and Ito each collected multiple hits.
Daniel Stephenson, Harry Wooden, and Maxim Fullerton each collected two hits for Wanneroo.
Perth 5, Rockingham Rams 3
Despite seeing their 5-run lead whittled down by the end, Perth still held off for a 5-3 victory on Wednesday. Rockingham closed the gap by scoring on a double and a single.
Yuki Maeda, Kaine Newham, and Brayden Moyle at the bottom of Perth’s lineup combined for four of the team’s seven hits in their victory. They scored one run and drove in three.
A triple by Newham put Perth on the board in the bottom of the second. They added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Austin Moyle walked, Rams committed an error, and Moyle singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.
Evan Rutckyj earned the win for Perth. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking four.
Isaac Keehn took the loss for Rockingham. The hurler went six innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking four.
Newham led Perth with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Moyle and Spencer Sarringar each collected two hits while the defense turned one double play. They didn’t commit a single error in the field as Sarringar had the most chances with eight.
Tyler Hill drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rockingham with two runs batted in on one hit. Jax Williams also had one hit while the defense made a double play.
Morley Eagles 10, South Perth Souths 0
Nick Ultsch drove in four runs on one hit to lead Morley Eagles past South Perth Souths 10-0 on Friday at Baseball Park. Ultsch hit a grand slam to right field in the fourth inning,
Morley won thanks in part to eight runs in the fourth inning. Kieren Chapman singled, scoring two runs, Matt Dixon drew a walk, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored one run, and Ultsch hit a grand slam to right field.
Eagles opened scoring in the second after Ben Crook grounded out, scoring one run.
Will Sherriff earned the win for Morley. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none.
Oliver Humphreys took the loss for South Perth. The hurler went three innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking four.
Koskei Partington-Hopes started on the hill for Morley, giving up three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one.
Chapman and Bodee Wright each collected two hits for Morley. Jess Williams led with three of the team’s eight walks. Williams and Wright each stole multiple bases with six total in the game, while the defense turned one double play. Eagles were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error as Cameron Bahr made the most plays with seven.
Carlton Branch, Joel Vlasic, and Oliver McMahon each collected one hit for South Perth. The defense turned a double play, too.
Carine Cats 1, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 0
Carine Cats defeated Victoria Park Belmont Reds 1-0 on Sunday at Tindale Park D1 as Jordan Power and Conor Lourey combined to throw a shutout. Power struck out Callum Hurrelbrink to get the last out.
Both teams were strong on the mound. Carine pitchers struck out nine, while Vic Park Belmont sat down 14. Carine was first to get on the board in the eighth when an error scored one run.Power earned the win for Carine. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one.
Andrew Hurrelbrink took the loss for Vic Park. The pitcher went one inning, surrendering one run (zero earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking none.
Lourey stepped on the hill first for Carine, allowing one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking four.
Vic Park starter Ryusuke Ito allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking four.
Power, Carlos Salas, Cooper McDonnell, Eita Samukawa, Cameran Brantley, and Dominik Grzecicha each collected one hit for Carine.Kanta Suzuki went 1-for-4 at the plate to lead Reds in hits. He also stole two bases. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Braves 13, South Perth Souths 3
Tim Kennelly hit two home runs and drove in six as Braves defeated South Perth 13-3 on Sunday at Frankland Park D1. Kennelly homered in the third and fifth innings.
Braves opened scoring in the first after Ben Drew laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. They added five runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Xavier Olsen doubled, Yuto Okamura drew a walk, and Kennelly singled, each scoring one run. An error scored another before Jake Bowey hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home the final run of the frame.
Braves scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, and Kennelly hit a grand slam to left field. Kennelly’s second homer of the day brought home two more in the fifth.
Todd Hatcher earned the win for Braves. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Carlton Branch took the loss for South Perth. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up nine runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out none and walking two.
Braves accumulated 11 hits in the game. Kevin Clark, Cody Parkinson, and Olsen each collected multiple hits.
Caleb Scorer, Caleb Goodwin, and Oliver McMahon each collected one hit for South Perth, with RBIs to Kent Fitzgibbons, Goodwin, and McMahon. The defense turned one double play.
Morley Eagles 9, Swan Districts Swans 1
Ben Crook collected three hits in five at-bats, as Morley Eagles defeated Swan Districts 9-1 on Sunday at Crimea Park D1. Crook singled in the third, hit a home run to right field in the fifth, and singled again in the eighth.
Morley got on board in the bottom of the first inning after Alex Hall doubled down the left field line, Bodee Wright tripled, and Swans made an error, each scoring one run. They added another in the second on Wright’s single.Three more Morley runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 7-0. Dillan Clarkson induced Cameron Bahr to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and Crook homered to right field, scoring two runs.
Kieran Hall earned the win for Morley. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none.
Clarkson took the loss for Swan Districts. The hurler went five innings, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits, striking out two and walking one.
Kane Silvi started for the Eagles. He allowed three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Raleigh Pelkonen threw two innings of no-run ball in relief, giving up one hit, striking out six and walking none.
Morley tallied 14 hits in the game. Crook and Wright each collected three hits while Hall had two in four at-bats. The defense was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error as Bahr made the most plays with 15.
Michael De Gasperis and Taiyo Kurosawa each collected two hits for Swan Districts while the defense turned one double play.
Perth 17, Gosnells Hawks 6
Spencer Sarringar drove in four runs on two hits to lead Perth past Gosnells Hawks 17-6 on Sunday at Inglewood Oval D1. Sarringar hit a grand slam to center field in the first inning.
Perth scored nine runs in the seventh inning on the way to victory. Brayden Moyle hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, before 2-RBI singles to Austin Moyle and Jordano Vivona. Yuki Maeda singled, scoring one run, and Jalen McGee doubled, scoring three runs.
Perth added one run in the second when Vivona singled down the left field line, making the score 8-0.
Jai Hewitt stepped on the mound first for Perth. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking two.
Patrick Frezza stepped on the bump first for Gosnells, giving up eight hits and eight runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking three.
Evan Rutckyj threw two innings of shutout ball for Perth in relief. He allowed three hits, striking out four and walking one.
Perth tallied 18 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter McGee led with four hits in six at-bats. Josh McGee and Vivona also had multiple hits. McGee and Ben Nesbit led the team with two walks each (nine total on the day).
Gosnells totaled 10 hits in the game. Taj Varga led with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup as the right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Robin Adamson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the side in hits. Jarrod McKay and Temauri Lane also had multiple hits, while the defense turned two double plays.
Rockingham Rams 6, UWA Magpies 3
Rockingham Rams defeated UWA Magpies 6-3 on Sunday at Hourglass Reserve D1.
UWA Magpies got on board in the top of the first inning after Kyle Poapst singled down the right field line and Riley Spring grounded into a double play, each scoring one run.
Rockingham captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the second after Yosuke Fujie walked, Tyler Hill grounded into a fielder’s choice, and Vincent Tarantola walked, each scoring one run.
Rams added two runs in the third when UWA Magpies committed an error, making the score 5-2.
Tarantola stepped on the mound first for Rockingham. The hurler allowed six hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking two.
Poapst opened the game for UWA Magpies. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and five runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking six.
Joshua Diggins went 1-for-3 at the plate and led Rockingham with two runs batted in. Fujie, Stuart Sara, David Nichols, Jacques Langford, Diggins, and Tarantola each collected one hit while Langford stole two bases. Rams worked the count all day, totaling eight walks and five stolen bases, plus two double plays on defense.
Jaden Babiuk and Poapst were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for UWA Magpies. Josh Mikus led with two hits in three at-bats.
Rockingham Rams 9, UWA Magpies 4
Jax Williams collected three hits in three at-bats, as Rockingham Rams defeated UWA Magpies 9-4 on Sunday at Hourglass Reserve D1. Williams doubled in the first, singled in the third, and doubled again in the fifth.
Rockingham got on board in the bottom of the first inning after Vincent Tarantola singled, scoring one run, Williams doubled, scoring one run, and David Nichols singled, scoring two runs.
Yosuke Fujie singled down the right field line on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, making the score 5-0 for the Rams in the second. Williams singled to extend their lead to 6-0 in the third.
Lachlan Cahill earned the win for Rockingham. The hurler surrendered three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one and walking none.
Chris Crawford took the loss for UWA Magpies. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, surrendering six runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking three.
Tarantola started the game for Rockingham. The hurler surrendered two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Stuart Sara collected the save.
Rams collected nine hits in the game as Tarantola went 2-for-4. Joshua Diggins took two of the team’s six walks. They ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases while the defense turned one double play.
Tyson Edwards led UWA Magpies with three hits in four at-bats from the leadoff position. Jaden Babiuk, Edwards, James Bull, and Michael Albertini each drove in one run and there was a double play on defense, too.
Wanneroo Giants 9, Braves 7
Wanneroo Giants snatched the lead late in their 9-7 victory over Braves on Sunday. Giants were down 7-6 in the top of the sixth inning when Byron Armstrong homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Despite falling down by six runs in the second inning, Braves tried to fight back, closing the gap by scoring on a single, a single, a walk, a solo home run, a groundout, and a single.
Wanneroo jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Chayce Benseman, Adam Barbarich, and Cooper Barber singled, each scoring one run. Next, Jake Turnbull drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jacob Santich singled, scoring two runs.
Braves captured the lead, 7-6, in the bottom of the third when Kevin Clark hit a solo home run to center field, Yuto Okamura grounded out, scoring one run, and Tim Kennelly singled, scoring two runs.
Arnad Mulamekic stepped on the mound first for Wanneroo. The starter gave up four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three and walking five. Callum Schipp, Frazer Brice, and Tom Bailey each came on in relief and shut down Braves.
Braves starter Jake Bowey gave up 10 hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out four and walking three.
Wanneroo collected 10 hits in the game. Armstrong provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with three runs batted in as the 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Daniel Stephenson, Armstrong, and Benseman each collected two hits and the defense turned one double play.
Kennelly and Okamura were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Braves. Daniel Choi took three of the team’s 11 walks while the defense made one double play.
