Carine, Morley, Perth, and UWA Magpies were big winners in week 20 of Harcher State League.
Morley, Perth, Braves, Wanneroo, and Carine remain in the top five heading into the last weekend before finals.

Carine Cats 11, South Perth Souths 1
Carine Cats won big over South Perth 11-1 on Tuesday at Baseball Park. A single by Cameran Brantley put Carine on board in the top of the first before adding to their early lead in the second when Cooper McDonnell singled, scoring two runs, and Brantley hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Meylian Marin stepped on the hill first for Cats. The starter allowed seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Caleb Scorer led things off on the bump for South Perth. The pitcher allowed five hits and five runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two.
Carine totaled 11 hits in the game. Brantley drove the middle of the lineup, leading with three runs batted in as the 3-hole hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. McDonnell, Thomas Summers, Brantley, and Dominik Grzecicha each collected two hits while Eita Samukawa and Brantley both stole multiple bases with 10 total for the team. The defense turned one double play and made no errors as Kamil Pejchat had the most plays with seven.
Craig Saupold, Carlton Branch, Joel Vlasic, Luke Mann, Max Wheeler, Daniel Johnston, and Alex Clark each collected one hit for South Perth. Branch led with one run batted in as the center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
Morley Eagles 8, Gosnells Hawks 0
Morley Eagles won big over Gosnells Hawks 8-0 on Wednesday at Baseball Park. Eagles scored in the first on a bases-loaded walk by Matt Dixon.
Three more Morley runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 4-0. Ben Crook hit a solo home run to right field, Mitch Graham drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jess Williams singled, scoring one run.
Lochlan Southee earned the win for Morley. The pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking none.
Patrick Frezza took the loss for Gosnells. The starter went five innings, giving up five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking five.
Raleigh Pelkonen stepped on the bump first for Morley. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none.
Brendan Sing pitched two innings of scoreless ball for Morley in relief. The hurler allowed one hit, striking out three and walking none.
Eagles piled up 12 hits in the game with two apiece for Aaron Bonomi, Crook, Bodee Wright, and Nick Ultsch. Bonomi, Dixon, Williams, Crook, Wright, and Ultsch each drove in one run. The defense was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error as Cameron Bahr made the most plays with 10.
Robin Adamson and Chyi Tat Tan each collected one hit for Gosnells while the defense turned one double play in the game.
Morley Eagles 9, Perth 3
Mitch Graham collected three hits in three at-bats as Morley Eagles defeated Perth 9-3 on Saturday at Crimea Park D1. Graham singled in the second, hit a home run to right field in the fourth, and singled again in the fifth.
Morley won thanks in part to five runs in the sixth inning. Aaron Bonomi doubled and Nick Ultsch drew a walk, each scoring one run, and Bodee Wright homered to center field, scoring three runs.
Eagles opened scoring in the first after Matt Dixon hit a solo home run to center field. They tacked on two in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to right field by Graham.
Kane Silvi earned the win for Morley. The starter surrendered six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.
Evan Rutckyj took the loss for Perth. The hurler went four innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out six and walking four.
Bonomi collected two hits for Morley in three at-bats. Kieren Chapman led with three out of eight walks while the defense made two double plays.
Riley Oliphant went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Perth in hits. Spencer Sarringar, Travis McDonald, and Kaine Newham each drove in one run. The defense turned one double play in the game with no errors as Sarringar made the most plays with 10.
Perth 5, Morley Eagles 4
Perth snatched the lead late in their 5-4 victory over Morley Eagles on Saturday. The game was tied at four in the top of the seventh when an error scored one run.
Morley got on board in the second inning after Matt Dixon hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Perth made the score 4-1 in the top of the third after Dylan Bojarski homered to right field, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Jordano Vivona singled, scoring one run.
Morley tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a double by Cameron Bahr and a home run to right field by Aaron Bonomi.
Jai Hewitt began the game for Perth. The starter allowed three hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking four. Jake White and Boston Foot each came on in relief and shut down the Eagles.
Raleigh Pelkonen started on the bump for Morley. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and four runs (three earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.
Perth totaled 10 hits in the game. Bojarski provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in as the infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Bojarski, Brayden Moyle, and Spencer Sarringar each collected two hits.
Bonomi went 3-for-4 at the plate and led Morley with two runs batted in.
Carine Cats 21, Gosnells Hawks 5
Jordan Power drove in four runs on three hits to lead Carine Cats past Gosnells Hawks 21-5 on Saturday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1 . Power hit a solo home run to left field in the fifth before knocking in three runs on two singles in the seventh.
Carine came back to win despite trailing 5-0 in the first. Gosnells jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Ryan Smith doubled, scoring one run and Tim Leitch doubled, scoring two. Next, Taj Varga and Hudson Morawiec hit RBI singles.
Cats flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Cameran Brantley following a 6-pitch at-bat that drove in three.
Carine added one run in the third when Oliver Wilkinson grounded out, making the score 7-5. They scored two more in the fifth on home runs by Cooper McDonnell and Power.
Carine scored nine runs on six hits in the top of the seventh inning. Power singled, scoring one run, and Carlos Salas singled, scoring three. Samuell Kempton and Eita Samukawa drew bases-loaded walks before Brantley was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Power singled, scoring two runs.
Conor Lourey led things off on the mound for Carine. The hurler allowed 11 hits and five runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking four. Power pitched two innings of no-run ball in relief. The hurler gave up two hits, striking out four and walking none.
Jason Armstrong stepped on the mound first for Gosnells. The hurler surrendered six hits and nine runs (seven earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out none and walking six.
Carine collected 14 hits in the game. Power and Kamil Pejchat were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits while hitting back-to-back. Brantley provided pop in the middle of the lineup with five runs batted in as the 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day.
McDonnell collected two hits for Carine in four at-bats. Samukawa led with two of the team’s nine walks. Samukawa and Timothy Robinson each stole multiple bases with six overall. The defense was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error as Pejchat had the most chances with 11.
Gosnells totaled 13 hits in the game. Leitch provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in as the catcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Smith went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the side in hits. Robin Adamson, Morawiec, and Temauri Lane also had multiple hits while the defense turned two double plays.
UWA Magpies 3, South Perth Souths 2
It came down to the wire on Saturday at McGillivray Oval D1, as UWA Magpies grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 3-2, over South Perth. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the eighth when Carlton Branch induced Joris van Ballegooy to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
The pitching was strong on both sides. UWA Magpies pitchers struck out 16, while South Perth sat down nine.
UWA Magpies opened scoring in the first after Kyle Poapst hit a solo home run to left field. South Perth tied it up at two in the top of the sixth on a single by Bailey Hodge.
Poapst led things off on the mound for UWA Magpies. The hurler allowed four hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out 16 and walking six. Ryan Warner pitched one inning of zero-run ball in relief, giving up one hit, striking out none and walking none.
Joel Vlasic started on the bump for South Perth. The pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one.
Poapst, Jaden Babiuk, and Angus Shand each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. Poapst and Babiuk both drove in one run, with the former stealing two bases. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Alex Clark and Hodge were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for South Perth. Vlasic, Caleb Goodwin, Oliver McMahon, Clark, and Hodge each collected one hit. McMahon led with two of the team’s six walks.
