WA Claim Three Wins on Day 3 as Youth Start Undefeated and Women Secure Second Win
Western Australia enjoyed a strong Day 3 at the 2026 Australian Women’s Championship (AWC) and Australian Youth Women’s Championship (AYWC), recording three wins across the day.
The Youth Women’s team had an unbeaten start, while the Women’s team responded with an important win to even their record.
Youth Women: WA Start 2–0
WA’s Youth Women opened their campaign in dominant fashion, recording back-to-back wins to sit atop the standings at 2–0.
WA Def. Victoria 25–8
An explosive offensive performance saw WA pile on 25 runs, with contributions right across the lineup.
Lily Duckworth led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 outing and five RBI, while Jemma Golding delivered a grand slam as part of a three-hit, five-RBI performance.
WA finished with 16 hits and 11 walks, consistently applying pressure and capitalising on scoring opportunities.
WA Def. Queensland 11–6
WA backed it up with an 11–6 win over Queensland, showing composure in a tighter contest.
After early back-and-forth scoring, WA broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning to secure their second win of the day.
Duckworth remained a key contributor with a home run and three RBI, while Golding, Sarah Scott and Jamie Vlasic all collected multiple hits.

Women: WA Def. Queensland 11–3
Western Australia bounced back from an 0–2 start to defeat Queensland 11–3, making it back-to-back wins and keeping our finals hopes alive.
Aislinn Morris starred, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, including a two-run home run that helped seal the result. WA struck early through Chloe Atkinson and Morris, before extending the lead in the third with contributions from Meaghan Haggart and Morris again.
Queensland briefly closed the gap in the fifth, but Morris responded immediately with her home run, before WA added three more runs in the sixth to secure the win via run rule.
“I’m feeling awesome,” said Morris. “This team is special. I haven’t been around baseball for a while. My last nationals was 2018. I came here to have fun and this helps. I had no idea that was a bomb, I ran to second and everything went silent and then yeah – it felt really, really good.”
On the mound, WA combined effectively, with Bella Clarke, Madison Lines and Leah Cornish limiting Queensland, with Cornish closing out a perfect sixth.
WA can now secure a finals spot with a win over South Australia, or if Queensland falls to Victoria.
