There’s lots happening in Harcher State League as Braves, Perth, Morley, and Wanneroo lead the standings.
In the last week, Perth, Swan Districts, South Perth, UWA Magpies, Braves, Morley, and Rockingham got key wins.

Perth 8, Rockingham Rams 1
Dylan Bojarski drove in four runs on two hits to lead Perth past Rockingham Rams 8-1 on Tuesday at Empire Ballpark, Thornlie. Bojarski doubled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the sixth inning, scoring one.
Rockingham was the first to score in the second when Ellis Deakin singled, bringing home one run.
Perth made the score 4-1 in the bottom of the third after Jalen McGee was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Bojarski doubled, scoring three runs.
Christopher St-Pierre earned the win for Perth. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
Vinnie Tarantola took the loss for Rockingham. The pitcher went five innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out four and walking none.
Brayden Moyle pitched two innings of no-run ball for Perth in relief. The reliever surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking one.
Perth collected nine hits in the game. Joshua McGee and Bojarski each collected two hits while the defense turned one double play.
Jake Sheppard, Tarantola, and Deakin each collected one hit for Rockingham. Deakin led Rams with one run batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. The defense turned a double play and didn’t make any errors as Sheppard had the most chances in the field with eight.
Braves 1, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 0
Braves defeated Victoria Park Belmont 1-0 on Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Sam Kennelly and Matt Kennelly each pitched for Braves in the game. Kennelly induced a fly out from Ryan Boyer to get the last out.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Braves pitchers struck out eight and Vic Park sat down one.
Braves were the first to get on the board in the fourth when Kennelly hit a solo home run to left field.
Kennelly earned the win for Braves. The hurler surrendered two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one.
Mathew Martin took the loss for Victoria Park Belmont. The starting pitcher went eight innings, allowing one run on seven hits, striking out one and walking three.
Kennelly pitched three innings of no-run ball for Braves in relief. The pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out five and walking one.
Kennelly went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Kevin Clark, Cody Parkinson, James Smibert, Ben Drew, Lenny Golding, Josh Kennelly, and Kennelly each collected one hit for Braves. The defense was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kennelly had the most fielding chances with nine.
Curtis Bacon and Roy Hotvedt each collected one hit for Reds while the defense turned one double play in the game.
Morley Eagles 7, Wanneroo Giants 5
Morley Eagles were victorious against Wanneroo Giants 7-5 on Sunday at Mateljan Park, Madeley.
Morley got on the board in the top of the first inning after Mitch Graham singled to left field, Ethan Mann doubled to center field, and Kieran Chapman singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Wanneroo took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third thanks to singles by Daniel Stephenson and Cooper Barber. Giants made an error, helping Morley tie it up at four in the top of the fifth.
A fielder’s choice by Nick Irwin gave Wanneroo the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the fifth. Joshua Silvi hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Morley tie the game at five in the top of the sixth.
A sacrifice fly by Jayson Miller gave Morley the lead, 6-5, in the top of the seventh.
Kane Silvi started on the bump for Eagles, allowing 10 hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two.
Callum Schipp started the game for Giants. The right-handed pitcher surrendered seven hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two.
Lachie Waite and Brendan Sing each came on in relief for Morley and shutdown Wanneroo.
Morley tallied 11 hits in the game. Graham and Mann were a force together, each collecting two hits. Mann drove the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-5 on the day. Aaron Bonomi had two of the team’s four stolen bases in the game, while the defense turned one double play.
Wanneroo tallied 11 hits in the game. Nicholas Riley, Stephenson, Barber, and Adam Barbarich each collected two hits. Irwin, Stephenson, Barber, Courtney Jones, and Barbarich each drove in one run while Riley stole two bases.
Rockingham Rams 4, Carine Cats 1
Rockingham Rams were triumphant over Carine Cats 4-1 on Sunday at Carine Open Space.
A sacrifice fly by Cooper McDonnell put Carine on the board in the bottom of the first.
Rockingham took the lead in the top of the third. Chris Proctor homered to center field, scoring two runs, to give Rams the leg up, 2-1.
Kodai Kombara stepped on the bump first for Rockingham. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking none.
Conor Lourey stepped on the hill first for Carine. The pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking none.
Vinnie Tarantola threw three innings of shutout ball for Rockingham in relief. The left-handed pitcher allowed one hit, striking out three and walking none.
Rams tallied 10 hits total. Proctor provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading the side with two runs batted in. Jesse Sequeira, Jacques Langford, Lachlan Cahill, and Tarantola each collected two hits.
Rockingham turned one double play in the game and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Proctor had the most fielding chances with 10.
Tarrant Reimers, Carlos Salas, Bailey Moorfield, and Brendan Heath each collected one hit for Carine. McDonnell led Cats with one run batted in.
South Perth Souths 10, Gosnells Hawks 9
South Perth built a 4-run lead in the eighth inning and then held off Gosnells Hawks’ charge for a 10-9 victory on Sunday. Gosnells scored three runs on a home run in the ninth inning.
Bats blistered as South Perth collected 10 hits and Gosnells tallied nine in the high-scoring game. Gosnells got on the board in the second inning after Lee Wisby doubled, scoring three runs.
South Perth flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to right field by Brett Walters that drove in three.
Gosnells tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a single by David Burgess and a fielder’s choice by Brendan Warner.
An error gave Gosnells the lead, 6-5, in the top of the fourth. Tysaac Noland doubled to right field on an 0-2 count, which helped South Perth tie the game at six in the bottom of the seventh.
In the bottom of the eighth, South Perth broke up the tie when Justis Hellegards doubled, scoring three runs. Then a single by Jaxon Limpus followed to extend the lead to 10-6.
Robin Adamson homered to left field, scoring three runs in the top of the ninth for the Gosnells.
Noland started on the hill for South Perth. The pitcher gave up six hits and six runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking four.
Yuki Narita led things off on the hill for Gosnells. The hurler allowed six hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking two.
Josh Dass threw three innings of no-run ball for South Perth in relief. The pitcher allowed two hits, striking out one and walking three.
South Perth tallied 10 hits in the game. Hellegards led the team with four runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The center fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Limpus set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading with three hits in five at-bats. Limpus stole two bases.
Gosnells totaled nine hits in the game. Wisby, Adamson, and Warner each collected two hits. Wisby and Adamson were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs. Taj Varga paced Hawks with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 11 walks for the game.
Swan Districts Swans 1, UWA Magpies 0
Swan Districts grabbed an early lead on the way to a 1-0 victory over UWA Magpies on Sunday. Swans scored one run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
Riley Ozanne, Rowan Edmunds, and Jackson Stivey at the bottom of the Swans lineup combined for four of the team’s six hits in their victory.
Boston Foot stepped on the mound first for Swan Districts. The starter allowed two hits and zero runs over six and one-third innings, striking out 12 and walking four.
Kodai Hamaya opened the game for UWA Magpies. The left-handed pitcher allowed six hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking two. Brody Clarkson appeared in relief for Swan Districts.
Anthony Daniele and Edmunds each collected two hits for Swan Districts. Cole Snidow led Swans with one run batted in.
Joris Van Ballegooy, Eita Samukawa, and Madoka Honjo each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. The team had a strong eye at the plate, totaling six walks for the game. Honjo and Tyler Hill led with two walks each while the defense turned one double play.
UWA Magpies 6, Swan Districts 2
Nick Alexiou was dominant on the bump, as the righty rang up 11 strikeouts in UWA Magpies’ 6-2 victory over Swan Districts on Sunday at McGillivray Oval, Mt Claremont. Alexiou allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings while walking none.
UWA Magpies got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Alexiou hit a sacrifice fly, Henry Kellen doubled down the left field line, and Bryan Nobles singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Dillan Clarkson stepped on the hill first for Swan Districts. The lefty surrendered nine hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one.
UWA Magpies totaled nine hits in the game. Alexiou provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Kellen, Tyler Hill, and Madoka Honjo each collected two hits while Riley Spring stole three bases (five total for the team).
UWA Magpies ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Anthony Daniele led Swans with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Daniele, Riley Ozanne, and Michael De Gasperis each collected one hit for Swan Districts. The defense turned one double play in the game.
