Wanneroo and Braves faced off in the opening game of the 2024 Women’s Elite Series, a new Club Cup Tournament played on Wednesday nights at Empire Ballpark. Carine Cats and Kalamunda Rangers are also taking part in the competition, with all games broadcast on Streamer (7West Media) as part of a new partnership.
The Women’s Elite Series will follow a single-round format for four games, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. Games will be seven innings with a two-hour time limit.

Below is a recap from the first game, which was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning following a rain delay. The score was tied at 1-1 and the game will be rescheduled for completion.
Caitlin Eynon walked two but struck out three to keep Wanneroo off the board in the first. RBI doubles to Shenaye Lett and Eynon helped Braves get on board in the bottom half.
Giants tied it up in the top of the second after two walks and a wild pitch. A couple of quick innings followed before Braves threatened in the bottom of the third with a single, HBP, and fielder’s choice. Meaghan Haggart got a strikeout to end the inning.
A 1-2-3 inning followed before the Braves’ next turn at bat was cut short by rain.
