The 2024 Women’s Elite Series is heating up! Wanneroo Giants had the edge over Carine Cats this past Wednesday night at Empire Ballpark.
In this new Club Cup Tournament, games are seven innings with a two-hour time limit, and each one is broadcast on Streamer (7West Media) as part of an exciting partnership.

Wanneroo Giants 8, Carine Cats 5
Wanneroo Giants were triumphant over Carine Cats 8-5 on Wednesday at Empire Ballpark.
Wanneroo jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Chloe Atkinson singled, scoring one run, and Meaghan Haggart doubled, scoring two runs.
Giants added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Madison Lines hit a sacrifice fly, and Haggart doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run. An error scored another run for Wanneroo in the third.
Makayla George started the game for Wanneroo Giants. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and four runs (zero earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two. Atkinson appeared in relief.
Chloe Scott opened the game for Carine. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and six runs (four earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking three.
Wanneroo piled up nine hits in the game. Haggart provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led the side with three runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day.
Haggart, Atkinson, and Lines all had two hits, while Charlotte Yates, Mackenzie Colgan, Atkinson, and Lines stole multiple bases with 12 total in the game.
Tiah Hope and Elodie O’Sullivan each drove in one run for Carine. Taylor Bell led with two hits in two at-bats.
