That’s a wrap on Harcher State League games for the year. Rockingham, Swan Districts, Braves, Victoria Park Belmont, Carine, Perth, and UWA Magpies picked up wins as we head into the break.

Rockingham Rams 7, Carine Cats 4
Rockingham Rams were triumphant over Carine Cats 7-4 on Saturday at Hourglass Reserve D1.
Rockingham opened scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two doubles, including a 2-RBI hit for Vincent Tarantola. Cats tied it up in the second on a single by Thomas Summers and a fielder’s choice by Carlos Salas.
Carine took the lead in the top of the fourth. Kylan Granland singled, scoring one run, to give them the upper hand, 4-3.
Rockingham took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Carine committed an error, Yosuke Fujie singled down the right field line, Tyler Hill doubled down the right field line, and Tarantola hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Isaac Keehn earned the win for Rockingham. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking three.
Conor Lourey took the loss for Carine. He went four innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking two.
Hill and Tarantola were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Rockingham while hitting back-to-back. Tarantola provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with three runs batted in as the infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. The defense turned two double plays in the game.
Granland and Cameran Brantley each collected two hits for Carine. Salas, Summers, and Granland each drove in one run while in the field the Cats turned one double play.
Swan Districts Swans 4, Gosnells Hawks 3
Swan Districts Swans were triumphant over Gosnells Hawks 4-3 on Sunday at Charlie Hodder D1. Swans were first to get on board in the second when Jackson Stivey hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. They added one run in the third after Brody Clarkson grounded out.
Dillan Clarkson stepped on the hill first for Swan Districts. The starter gave up 12 hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.
Patrick Frezza started the game for Gosnells, giving up five hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking one.
Michael De Gasperis went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Swan Districts in hits. Anthony Daniele and Stivey each drove in one run for Swans while the defense turned two double plays.
Gosnells collected 12 hits in the game. Jarrod McKay went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Ryan Smith led with three hits in four at-bats. Tim Leitch and Lee Wisby each collected multiple hits as the defense turned one double play in the game.
Braves 14, South Perth 1
Yuto Okamura drove in five runs on three hits to lead Braves past South Perth 14-1 on Sunday at Collins Oval D1. Okamura doubled in the sixth inning, scoring two, and hit a home run to center field in the seventh inning, scoring three.
Braves got on board in the top of the fourth inning after Matt Kennelly homered to left field, and Daniel Choi singled, each scoring one run.
Four more Braves runs crossed the plate in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 10-1. Okamura doubled, scoring two runs, and Kevin Clark homered to left field, scoring two more.
Braves added to their lead with four runs in the top of the seventh inning thanks to home runs by Okamura and Sam Kennelly.
Kennelly stepped on the bump first for Braves. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
Takashi Umino stepped on the hill first for South Perth. The pitcher surrendered 10 hits and 10 runs (four earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking three.
Kennelly tossed one inning of zero-run ball for Braves in relief. The pitcher surrendered one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Braves collected 13 hits in the game. Geoff Kerr, Clark, and Kennelly each collected multiple hits while Okamura led with two of the team’s six walks. Joel Beches had two out of four stolen bases as the defense made two double plays with no errors. Choi had the most chances in the field with six.
Craig Saupold went 2-for-3 at the plate and led South Perth with one run batted in.
Victoria Park Belmont Reds 8, UWA Magpies 7
Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, Victoria Park Belmont Reds still held off for an 8-7 victory on Sunday. UWA Magpies closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a sacrifice fly, and another walk.
Reds got on board in the top of the first inning after Ben Warrington doubled down the left field line and Ryan Boyer grounded out, each scoring one run.
Riley Spring grounded out, which helped UWA Magpies tie the game at two in the bottom of the fourth. They took the lead in the sixth when Spring drew a walk to make it 3-2.
Kanta Suzuki doubled to right field, which helped Vic Park tie the game at three in the top of the seventh. Reds took a 4-3 advantage on a bases-loaded walk by Cooper Truong in the eighth.
The back-and-forth battle continued as UWA Magpies tied it up at four in the bottom frame with Chris Crawford’s walk. Reds made it an 8-4 ballgame in the ninth when Suzuki singled, scoring two runs, Boyer hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and a dropped third strike scored one run.
Andrew Hurrelbrink stepped on the mound first for Vic Park, allowing four hits and four runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Ryosei Miyazato appeared in relief.
Ryan Warner opened the game for UWA Magpies. The starter gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one.
Suzuki drove the middle of the lineup, leading Reds with three runs batted in. The right fielder went 2-for-5 on the day. Truong paced the team with two out of eight walks while Suzuki stole two bases.
Jaden Babiuk and Cooper Tomkinson each collected two hits for UWA Magpies. Spring and Michael Albertini each drove in two runs while the lineup collected seven walks. Kyle Poapst and Spring led with two bases on balls each.
Carine Cats 7, Rockingham Rams 3
Carine Cats took down Rockingham Rams 7-3 on Sunday at Tindale Park D1. Cats got on board in the second inning after Lucas Nelson hit a solo home run to left field.
Rockingham jumped into the lead in the top of the third when Jacques Langford doubled, scoring one run, and Joshua Diggins homered to center field, scoring two runs.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Carine went back into the lead after Cameran Brantley doubled to center field, and Dominik Grzecicha homered to center field, each scoring two runs.
Cats starter Timothy Holmes gave up seven hits and three runs over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two.
Vincent Tarantola started on the bump for Rockingham, giving up nine hits and seven runs over eight innings, striking out six and walking two.
Elliott Giddens tossed one and one-third innings of scoreless ball for Carine in relief. The hurler surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Cats tallied nine hits in the game. Grzecicha provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with three runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Eita Samukawa, Brantley, and Nelson each collected two hits while the defense was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Brantley had the most fielding chances with eight.
Yosuke Fujie, David Nichols, Diggins, Jax Williams, Langford, Stuart Sara, and Tyler Hill each collected one hit for Rockingham. Diggins led with two runs batted in as the infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Rams didn’t commit a single error in the field as Nichols had the most chances with eight.
Perth 3, Morley Eagles 0
Perth defeated Morley Eagles 3-0 on Sunday at Inglewood Oval D1 as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jake White, Cruze Brendon, and Boston Foot each pitched for Perth. Foot induced a lineout from Reece Thompson to get the last out.
Both teams were strong on the bump. Perth pitchers struck out seven, while Morley sat down six.
Perth was first on the board in the second when Kaine Newham singled, scoring one run.
White earned the win for Perth, giving up two hits and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one.
Kane Silvi took the loss for Morley. The starting pitcher went five and one-third innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out three and walking one.
Brendon started the game for Perth. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking five. Foot collected the save.
Perth accumulated 11 hits in the game. Newham, Dylan Bojarski, Jalen McGee, Brayden Moyle, and Ben Nesbit each collected two hits. Newham, Bojarski, and McGee each drove in one run as the defense turned two double plays. They were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error as Bojarski had the most chances with 11.
Jeremy Sexton, Tom Williams, and Bodee Wright each collected one hit for Morley. The Eagles worked the count all day, totaling six walks with a double play on defense.
Swan Districts Swans 6, Gosnells Hawks 5
Swan Districts defeated Gosnells Hawks 6-5 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. It was tied at five in the bottom of the fifth when Lachlan Smeulders singled, scoring one run.
Swans rallied for the victory despite trailing 5-1 in the fifth. Gosnells got on board first with a Ryan Smith RBI single in the opening frame.
Nick Hoyt doubled down the right field line, which helped Swan Districts tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
Gosnells took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Lee Wisby singled, Robin Adamson grounded out, Smith walked, and Jarrod McKay grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.
Swans flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 6-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Hoyt that drove in one.
Sean Means led things off on the hill for Swan Districts, allowing four hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking five. Kye Varrone pitched two innings of no-run ball in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out three and walking one.
Jason Armstrong stepped on the mound first for Gosnells, giving up eight hits and six runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five.
Hoyt went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Swans had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game as Taiyo Kurosawa and Anthony Daniele led with two free passes each. Michael De Gasperis stole two bases and the defense had a pair of double plays.
Smith drove the middle of the lineup, leading Gosnells with two runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Leadoff hitter Wisby led with two hits in four at-bats and Louis Scaramella took three of the team’s six walks. Hawks didn’t commit a single error in the field as Tim Leitch had the most chances with six.
UWA Magpies 3, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 2
UWA Magpies took Sunday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 3-2 walk-off victory over Victoria Park Belmont Reds at McGillivray Oval D1. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Henry Kellen hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Both teams were strong on the bump. UWA Magpies pitchers struck out six, while Victoria Park Belmont sat down five.
UWA Magpies were first to get on the board in the opening frame when Ryusuke Ito induced Kyle Poapst to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. They added one run in the third after Jaden Babiuk singled to left field.
Jack Smalpage doubled to center field, which helped Reds tie the game at two in the top of the fifth.
Poapst earned the win for UWA Magpies. The righty gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking one.
Ito took the loss for Vic Park. The starting pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out five and walking one.
Chris Crawford led things off on the bump for UWA Magpies. The starter gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three. Kellen appeared in relief.
Tyson Edwards and Babiuk each collected two hits for UWA Magpies. Poapst, Kellen, and Babiuk each drove in one run.Smalpage went 2-for-3 at the plate and led Vic Park with one run batted in.
