The race to finals is on in Harcher State League! This past week saw Perth, Carine, Morley, Wanneroo, Rockingham, and UWA Magpies come away with big victories.
Morley, Perth, Braves, and Wanneroo make up the top four with Carine and Rockingham hot on their heels.

Perth 10, UWA Magpies 2
Perth defeated UWA Magpies 10-2 on Tuesday at Baseball Park thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning. Spencer Sarringar doubled, scoring one run, Austin Moyle doubled, scoring two runs, and Yuki Maeda drew a walk, scoring one run. Next, an error scored one run before RBI base hits for Jalen McGee, Josh McGee, and Dylan Bojarski.
Perth scored one run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Maeda on an 0-2 count.
Brayden Moyle started the game for Perth. The hurler surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking three. Jordano Vivona and Riley Oliphant each threw scoreless innings in relief.
Chris Crawford stepped on the bump first for UWA Magpies. The hurler allowed six hits and eight runs (two earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking three.
Moyle drove the middle of the lineup, leading Perth with two runs batted in as the outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Bojarski led with two hits in three at-bats. The team had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks with two each for Ben Nesbit and Sarringar. The defense turned one double play.
Riley Spring, Bryan Nobles, and James Bull each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. Henry Kellen and Bull both drove in one run.
Carine Cats 13, Gosnells Hawks 0
Cooper McDonnell drove in five runs on three hits to lead Carine Cats past Gosnells Hawks 13-0 on Wednesday at Baseball Park. McDonnell hit a home run to right field in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and tripled in the sixth inning, scoring three more.
Meylian Marin struck out 11 batters on the day. The pitcher also surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings while walking one.
Carine got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after Thomas Summers singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Eita Samukawa drew a walk, scoring one run, and McDonnell homered to right field, scoring three runs.
Cats scored five runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning. McDonnell tripled, scoring three runs, before bases-loaded walks to Lucas Nelson and Kylan Granland.
Patrick Frezza took the loss for Gosnells. The pitcher went two innings, surrendering six runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out four and walking two. Takahiro Homma led things off on the mound for Hawks, giving up two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out none and walking one.
Dawid Korzekwa pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Carine in relief. The hurler gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking three.
Cats collected 10 hits in the game. Brendan Heath had two hits in three at-bats. Cameran Brantley stole two bases with five total plus eight walks. The defends turned one double play.
Hudson Morawiec went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Gosnells in hits.
Rockingham Rams 5, Swan Districts Swans 5
Rockingham Rams and Swan Districts tied 5-5 on Friday at Baseball Park. Swans opened scoring in the first after Brody Clarkson doubled, scoring two runs.
Rockingham tied the game up at two in the bottom of the first on a single by Jax Williams.
Swan Districts took a 3-2 lead in the top of the second when Taiyo Kurosawa grounded out, scoring one run. The back-and-forth continued as Rams made it three-all their next time up with a bases-loaded walk to Vincent Tarantola.
Rockingham took the lead in the bottom of the third. David Nichols hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, to give Rams the upper hand, 4-3.
Anthony Daniele singled down the left field line, which helped Swans tie the game at four in the top of the fifth.
Swan Districts took the lead in the sixth. Isaac Keehn induced Riley Ozanne to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, giving them the advantage, 5-4.
Tyler Hill singled down the left field line, which helped Rams tie the game at five in the bottom of the sixth.
Keehn stepped on the bump first for Rockingham. The pitcher gave up eight hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two.
Dillan Clarkson opened the game for Swan Districts. The pitcher gave up seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three.
Rockingham piled up nine hits in the game. Jesse Sequeira and Williams were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits. Nichols, Sequeira, Hill, Tarantola, and Williams had one RBI apiece. Rams turned one double play.
Clarkson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Swan Districts with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Michael De Gasperis led with two hits in four at-bats while the defense turned one double play in the game.
Perth 5, Braves 0
Spencer Sarringar collected three hits in three at-bats, as Perth defeated Braves 5-0 on Saturday at Frankland Park D1. Sarringar singled in the second, hit a solo home run to center field in the fourth, and doubled in the fifth.
Perth jumped out to the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Sarringar’s solo home run, Ben Nesbit’s RBI single, and Jalen McGee’s 2-RBI base hit.
Kaine Newham started on the hill for Perth. The pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking seven.
Tucker Smith started on the hill for Braves. The starter gave up eight hits and four runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Jake White threw one and one-third innings of shutout ball for Perth in relief. He allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking none.
Perth accumulated nine hits in the game. McGee led with two runs batted in as the leadoff hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Riley Oliphant collected two hits in three at-bats. The defense turned one double play and didn’t commit a single error in the field as Dylan Bojarski had the most chances with seven.
Yuto Okamura went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Braves in hits. Jake Bowey paced the side with three out of seven walks.
Perth 5, Braves 1
Perth triumphed over Braves 5-1 on Saturday at Frankland Park D1. A solo home run to left field by Jalen McGee put Perth on the board in the top of the third.
Perth added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning on two hits. Ben Nesbit homered to center field, scoring two runs, and McGee doubled, scoring one run.
Evan Rutckyj started the game for Perth, giving up three hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking two.
Jake Bowey stepped on the mound first for Braves. The pitcher gave up three hits and four runs over six innings, striking out three and walking four.
Boston Foot tossed one inning of zero-run ball for Perth in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out none and walking none.
McGee set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Perth with two hits in four at-bats. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Lenny Golding, Bowey, and Liam Collins each collected one hit for Braves. Golding led with one run batted in as the second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Collins stole two bases and the defense made one double play in the game.
Rockingham Rams 7, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 3
Rockingham Rams were victorious against Victoria Park Belmont Reds 7-3 on Saturday at Forster Park D1. Rams got on board in the first when Tyler Hill singled, scoring one run.
Rams starter Jax Williams surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking four.
Vincent Tarantola pitched seven innings in relief for Rockingham. The southpaw allowed seven hits and three runs (one earned) while striking out eight and walking three.
Andrew Hurrelbrink started on the mound for Vic Park. He gave up 12 hits and seven runs over nine innings, striking out 10 and walking three.
Rockingham totaled 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Joshua Diggins led with three hits in five at-bats. Williams led with three runs batted in as the pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Yosuke Fujie and Tarantola each collected multiple hits while the defense turned one double play.
Kanta Suzuki led Reds with two hits in five at-bats from the leadoff position. Ryan Boyer, Jack Smalpage, and Jett Marchesano each drove in one run whilr Ben Warrington paced the team with two out of seven walks. The defense made a double play, too.
UWA Magpies 7, Carine Cats 2
Kyle Poapst collected three hits in five at-bats, as UWA Magpies defeated Carine Cats 7-2 on Saturday at Tindale Park D1. Poapst doubled in the first inning, singled in the second, and hit a solo home run to center field in the sixth.
UWA Magpies got on board in the top of the first inning after Cooper Tomkinson singled down the right field line, Riley Spring singled down the left field line, and Joshua Houston doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
UWA Magpies added three more runs in the top of the third inning on three hits. Michael Albertini homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Tyson Edwards singled, scoring one run.
UWA Magpies scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Poapst.
Chris Crawford stepped on the mound first for UWA Magpies. The pitcher gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking three. Poapst appeared in relief.
Tyson Le Quesne stepped on the hill first for Carine. He gave up five hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two.
UWA Magpies totaled 13 hits in the game. Poapst and Spring each collected three hits while Albertini led with two runs batted in as the left fielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Edwards and Jaden Babiuk each collected multiple hits and the defense turned one double play.
Kamil Pejchat went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Carine in hits. Cats had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game with two apiece for Thomas Summers and Cameran Brantley. Their defense turned three double plays.
Wanneroo Giants 11, Gosnells Hawks 1
Wanneroo Giants defeated Gosnells Hawks 11-1 on Saturday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1 thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning. Cooper Barber doubled, scoring one run, Xavier Fatai singled, scoring two runs, and Daniel Stephenson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Harry Wooden doubled, scoring two runs, and Chayce Benseman hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Giants got on board in the first after Maxim Fullerton homered to right field, scoring two runs. They added two in the top of the fourth on a home run to right field by Benseman.
Arnad Mulamekic started the game for Wanneroo, giving up one hit and one run over two innings, striking out four and walking two. Callum Schipp pitched three innings in relief, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking none.
Takahiro Homma stepped on the mound first for Gosnells. The pitcher gave up four hits and eight runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking seven.
Benseman led Wanneroo with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup as the infielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Barber and Fatai each collected two hits. The team had patience at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game as Ethan Cooper and Jake Turnbull led with two free passes each.
Temauri Lane and Ryan Smith each collected one hit for Gosnells. Lane had one run batted in while the defense turned one double play. They didn’t make any errors in the field as Robin Adamson had the most chances with three.
Wanneroo Giants 16, Gosnells Hawks 0
Adam Barbarich drove in six runs on four hits to lead Wanneroo Giants past Gosnells Hawks 16-0 on Saturday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1. Barbarich hit a home run to left field in the fourth scoring three after an RBI single and RBI double earlier in the game.
Giants got on board in the top of the first inning after Jake Turnbull grounded out, Blake Thompson doubled down the left field line, and Daniel Stephenson singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Wanneroo scored eight runs on six hits in the top of the second inning. Barbarich, Thompson, and Quinn Fatai hit RBI singles before two errors and a 2-RBI double by Barbarich.
Maxim Fullerton hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the third for Wanneroo. Four more runs crossed the plate in the fourth to extend the lead to 16-0. Barbarich homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Thompson singled, scoring one run.
Dylan Bandy started on the hill for Wanneroo. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking none.
Patrick Frezza started on the mound for Gosnells. He surrendered 12 hits and 12 runs (seven earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking none.
Wanneroo accumulated 14 hits in the game. Fatai and Thompson each collected multiple hits while the defense ade a double play with no errors in the field. Stephenson had the most chances with five.
Hudson Morawiec and Temauri Lane each collected one hit for Gosnells.
Morley Eagles 11, South Perth Souths 3
Mitch Graham hit two home runs and drove in five as Morley Eagles defeated South Perth 11-3 on Saturday at Crimea Park D1. Graham homered in the third and fourth innings.
Morley got on board in the second inning after Kieren Chapman grounded out, scoring two runs. They scored three more in the third on a home run to left field by Graham.
Eagles added five more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on six hits. Matt Dixon hit a sacrifice fly, Bodee Wright singled, and Nick Ultsch doubled, each scoring one run, before Graham homered to left field, scoring two.
Morley tacked on another in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to right field by Aaron Bonomi.
Will Sherriff earned the win for Eagles. The reliever gave up two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking none.
Oliver Humphreys took the loss for South Perth. The starting pitcher went three innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking two.
Kane Silvi started on the bump for Morley. The pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Wright threw one inning of shutout ball in relief, allowing zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
Morley piled up nine hits in the game while Caleb Scorer led South Perth with two runs batted in as the outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Souths turned one double play.
Morley Eagles 10, South Perth Souths 0
Bodee Wright hit two home runs and drove in three as Morley Eagles defeated South Perth 10-0 on Saturday at Crimea Park D1. Wright homered in the second and sixth innings.
Morley opened scoring in the bottom of the first inning after an error scored one run, and Mitch Graham hit a two-run homer to left field. Eagles added three more in the second on three hits. Matt Dixon doubled, scoring one run, and Wright homered to right field, scoring two runs.
Four more Morley runs crossed the plate in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 10-0. Wright hit a solo home run to left field, Cameron Bahr singled, scoring one run, and Tom Williams homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Koskei Partington-Hopes started the game for Morley. The pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Brendan Sing and Lochlan Southee each came on in relief and shut down the Souths.
Joshua Rawlinson started the game for South Perth. He allowed six hits and six runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Morley piled up 11 hits in the game while Caleb Scorer went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead South Perth in hits. Their defense turned one double play.
