Rockingham, Braves, Wanneroo, South Perth, Vic Park, Morley, Perth, and Swan Districts were this week’s winners in Harcher State League.
Morley, Braves, Perth, Wanneroo, and Carine make up the top five with just three weeks to go until finals.

Wanneroo Giants 5, UWA Magpies 3
Wanneroo Giants were victorious against UWA Magpies 5-3 on Tuesday at Baseball Park.
Giants got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Cooper Barber grounded out, Byron Armstrong singled to left field, and Jacob Santich grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.
Barber earned the win for Wanneroo. The starter surrendered three hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking six.
>Henry Kellen opened the game for UWA Magpies. The starter gave up three hits and three runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking one.
Tal Tardrew threw one inning of zero-run ball for Wanneroo in relief. The hurler surrendered one hit, striking out one and walking none.
Armstrong led Wanneroo with two hits in four at-bats. Daniel Stephenson, Santich, Barber, Armstrong, and Jake Turnbull each drove in one run while Maxim Fullerton stole two bases. Giants turned one double play in the game.
Jaden Babiuk, Joshua Houston, and Riley Spring each drove in one run for UWA Magpies. They had patience at the plate, piling up six walks with two apiece for Spring and Tyson Edwards.
Rockingham Rams 3, Carine Cats 0
Both teams were strong on the mound on Friday, but Rockingham Rams defeated Carine Cats 3-0. Isaac Keehn started the game for Rockingham and recorded 18 outs.
Rams jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Vincent Tarantola singled, scoring two runs, and Jax Williams grounded out, scoring one run.
Keehn earned the win for Rockingham. The starter surrendered four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out nine and walking four.
Meylian Marin took the loss for Carine. The hurler went three innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out three and walking four.
Tarantola led Rams with one run batted in as the left-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Jesse Sequeira, Tyler Hill, and Tarantola each collected one hit as Hill had two of the team’s four stolen bases.
Carine’s number seven hitter Brendan Heath led with two hits in two at-bats.
Braves 11, UWA Magpies 1
Matt Kennelly drove in four runs on one hit to lead Braves past UWA Magpies 11-1 on Sunday at Frankland Park D1.
Braves won thanks in part to six runs in the fourth inning. Chris Crawford induced Jake Bowey to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Kennelly hit a grand slam to left field, and Sam Kennelly singled, scoring one run.
Braves got on board in the first inning after Yuto Okamura singled, scoring one run. Joshua Houston homered to left field, which helped UWA Magpies tie the game at one in the top of the third.
Four more Braves runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 11-1. Kevin Clark and Bowey both hit solo home runs to left field while Kennelly had a 2-RBI single.
Kennelly started on the hill for Braves. The hurler gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking none.
Crawford led things off on the mound for UWA Magpies. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and 11 runs (10 earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out none and walking four.
Braves collected 11 hits in the game. Kennelly, Jack Rigden, Clark, and Okamura each collected two hits, while the defense didn’t commit a single error in the field. Daniel Choi had the most fielding chances with eight.
Kyle Poapst, Houston, and Tyson Edwards each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. Houston went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Wanneroo Giants 4, Perth 2
Wanneroo Giants topped Perth 4-2 on Sunday at Mateljan Reserve D1. Perth got on board in the third inning after Spencer Sarringar doubled, scoring two runs.
Wanneroo jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Kaine Newham induced Daniel Stephenson to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and Harry Wooden grounded out, scoring two runs.
Tal Tardrew opened the game for Wanneroo. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Tom Bailey tossed three innings of zero-run ball in relief, allowing one hit, striking out two and walking none.
Newham started on the bump for Perth, giving up one hit and three runs (one earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three.
Maxim Fullerton, Cooper Barber, and Byron Armstrong each collected one hit for Wanneroo. Wooden, Fullerton, and Stephenson each drove in one run while the defense was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Stephenson made the most fielding plays with nine.
Sarringar drove the middle of the lineup, leading Perth with two runs batted in as the catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Brayden Moyle, Riley Oliphant, Ben Nesbit, Sarringar, and Yuki Maeda each collected one hit for Perth.
South Perth Souths 7, Swan Districts Swans 2
South Perth won 7-2 over Swan Districts Swans on Sunday at Collins Oval D1. Souths opened scoring in the bottom of the first when Craig Saupold hit an RBI double.
James Watson earned the win for South Perth. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking three.
Dillan Clarkson took the loss for Swan Districts. The hurler went six innings, giving up seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits, striking out eight and walking two.
Oliver Humphreys started on the bump for South Perth, giving up one hit and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking six.
Luke Mann tossed one and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for South Perth in relief, giving up zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
South Perth collected 10 hits in the game. Alex Clark led with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup as the infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Clark, Joel Vlasic, and Saupold each collected two hits. The defense turned one double play with no errors in the field as Vlasic had the most chances with eight.
Anthony Daniele and Nick Hoyt each collected one hit for Swan Districts. Hoyt led Swans with two runs batted in as the catcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Taiyo Kurosawa stole two bases and had four of the team’s nine walks.
Victoria Park Belmont Reds 10, Gosnells Hawks 2
Victoria Park Belmont Reds defeated Gosnells Hawks 10-2 on Sunday at Forster Park D1 thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Ryosei Miyazato hit a sacrifice fly and William Truscott drew a walk, each scoring one run, before 2-RBI singles by Josh Cosgrove and Jack Smalpage.
Reds opened scoring in the first after Smalpage was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. They added two in the second after Kanta Suzuki doubled to center field.
Gosnells scored two runs in the top of the third on a home run to left field by Robin Adamson. Reds got one back on an error during their turn up.
Andrew Hurrelbrink earned the win for Vic Park. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and two runs over eight innings, striking out nine and walking one. Cody Van Der Graaf threw one inning of shutout ball in relief with no hits, strikeouts, or walks.
Jason Armstrong took the loss for Gosnells. The starter went four and one-third innings, allowing nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking four.
Vic Park piled up 13 hits in the game. Truscott, Miyazato, Ryan Boyer, Smalpage, and Suzuki each collected two hits while Cosgrove and Smalpage drove in two runs apiece. Reds took seven walks as Truscott and Ryusuke Ito led with two free passes each. The defense turned one double play and didn’t commit a single error in the field – Miyazato had the most chances with nine.
Adamson provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Gosnells with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Ryan Smith also had two hits while the defense turned one double play.
Braves 8, UWA Magpies 4
Braves beat UWA Magpies 8-4 on Sunday at Frankland Park D1. UWA Magpies jumped out to an early lead in the first after Kyle Poapst singled, scoring one run, and Marcus Brown homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Braves scored two runs in the bottom of the first on a home run to left field by Sam Kennelly. Braves made the score 6-3 in the bottom of the second after Yuto Okamura doubled, scoring two runs, Kennelly singled, scoring one run, and Kevin Clark singled, scoring one run.
Todd Hatcher earned the win for Braves. The pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out six and walking three. Kennelly tossed two innings of scoreless ball in relief, giving up one hit, striking out two and walking one.
Ryan Warner took the loss for UWA Magpies. The hurler went one inning, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out none and walking one.
Kennelly provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Braves with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Matt Kennelly paced the side with three out of six total walks. The defense turned one double play and didn’t commit a single error in the field as Ben Drew had the most chances with 12.
Brown provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading UWA Magpies with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Brown, Angus Shand, Jaden Babiuk, Poapst, Joshua Houston, Tyson Edwards, and Michael Albertini each collected one hit. The defense made a double play and didn’t make any errors as Babiuk led with seven plays.
Morley Eagles 15, Rockingham Rams 2
Jess Williams collected four hits in five at-bats as Morley Eagles defeated Rockingham Rams 15-2 on Sunday at Hourglass Reserve D1. Williams singled in the second, hit a solo home run to right field in the fourth, and doubled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Morley got on board in the top of the second after Kieren Chapman singled and Matt Dixon drew a walk, each scoring one run. Next up, Aaron Bonomi doubled, scoring four runs.
Eagles extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Tom Williams and Dixon. They added one in the fourth and two in the sixth thanks to three hits. Bodee Wright hit a solo home run to right field and Chapman singled, scoring one run.
Morley tacked on four more in the top of the eighth inning on four hits. Wright hit a solo home run to center field, Williams doubled, scoring two runs, and Jeremy Sexton singled, scoring one run.
Kane Silvi began the game for Morley. The hurler surrendered three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking none.
Vincent Tarantola started the game for Rockingham. The southpaw allowed eight hits and nine runs (eight earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking two. L
Lochlan Southee tossed two innings of scoreless ball for Morley in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out four and walking two.
Eagles totaled 16 hits as Williams led with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 3-for-5 on the day. Wright hit two home runs in the game as the infielder went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two runs batted in. Chapman, Dixon, and Wright each collected multiple hits, too.
Yosuke Fujie led Rockingham with two hits in four at-bats. Jesse Sequeira and Tyler Hill each drove in one run while the defense turned a double play.
Perth 3, Wanneroo Giants 0
Perth bested Wanneroo Giants 3-0 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. It was tied at zero in the top of the fifth when Dylan Bojarski doubled, scoring three runs.
Both teams were strong on the bump. Perth pitchers struck out three, while Wanneroo sat down eight.
Jai Hewitt began the game for Perth. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out one and walking none. Boston Foot pitched two innings of shutout ball in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out two and walking none.
Arnad Mulamekic stepped on the hill first for Wanneroo. The starter gave up four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking four.
Bojarski provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Perth with three runs batted in as the first baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Jordano Vivona, Perth’s number eight hitter, led with two hits in three at-bats. The defense turned two double plays in the game, too.
Quinn Fatai, Jacob Santich, and Maxim Fullerton each collected one hit for Wanneroo.
Swan Districts Swans 11, South Perth Souths 8
There were runs aplenty on Sunday at Collins Oval D1, as Swan Districts outshone South Perth 11-8. Swans collected eight hits, while Souths had nine.
South Perth opened scoring in the first after Caleb Scorer doubled, scoring one run. Swans flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Taiyo Kurosawa that drove in three.
South Perth tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a single by Caleb Goodwin, a single by Craig Saupold, and a double play.
In the top of the eighth inning, Swan Districts went back into the lead after Anthony Daniele doubled down the left field line, Nick Hoyt hit a sacrifice fly, and Kye Varrone grounded out, each scoring one run.
Sean Means stepped on the hill first for Swan Districts. The pitcher gave up nine hits and eight runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking five.
Joel Vlasic started on the bump for South Perth. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and five runs over four innings, striking out none and walking four.
Varrone tossed one inning of no-run ball for Swan Districts in relief. He surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.
Kurosawa led Swan Districts with three runs batted in as the infielder went 1-for-5 on the day. Daniele went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the way in hits. Rowan Edmunds took three of the team’s 10 walks while the defense made two double plays.
South Perth piled up nine hits in the game. Scorer, Vlasic, and Daniel Johnston each collected two hits. Scorer went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in.
