Week 21 of Harcher State League is done and dusted, and that’s a wrap on the regular season! Carine, Gosnells, Morley, Perth, Rockingham, and Swan Districts were this past week’s winners.
Morley, Perth, Braves, Wanneroo, and Carine have secured top five spots heading into the finals starting on Friday 13 March.

Gosnells Hawks 8, UWA Magpies 5
Gosnells Hawks defeated UWA Magpies 8-5 on Tuesday at Baseball Park.
UWA Magpies were first to get on the board in the opening frame when Riley Spring singled, scoring one run.
A single by Sandon Isle gave Gosnells the 2-1 lead in the top of the second.
UWA Magpies took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Angus Shand singled to left field and Bennett Kary singled, each scoring one run.
Gosnells made it 4-3 in the top of the third after Ryan Smith flew out and Isle singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.
Patrick Frezza earned the win for Gosnells. The starter surrendered seven hits and four runs over six innings, striking out four and walking four. Smith appeared in relief.
Adam England took the loss for UWA Magpies. The righty went two-thirds of an inning, giving up two runs on two hits, striking out none and walking two.
Joshua Houston started the game for UWA Magpies. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one.
Gosnells piled up 12 hits in the game. Isle, the number seven hitter, led the way with three runs batted in as the shortstop went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases on the day. Jarrod McKay, Temauri Lane, Jordan Trainer, and Isle each collected two hits while Lee Wisby took two of the team’s six walks. The defense turned two double plays.
Marcus Brown and Kary each collected two hits for UWA Magpies. Brown, Shand, Spring, James Bull, and Kary each drove in one run. Bull paced the team with two out of seven walks.
Morley Eagles 12, Wanneroo Giants 4
Jess Williams drove in five runs on one hit to lead Morley Eagles past Wanneroo Giants 12-4 on Friday at Baseball Park.
Morley got on board in the top of the first inning after Bodee Wright was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Williams hit a grand slam to right field.
Eagles scored five runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Matt Dixon singled, scoring one run, Mitch Graham doubled, scoring two runs, Williams grounded out, scoring one run, and a dropped third strike scored one run.
Kane Silvi led things off on the bump for Morley. The hurler gave up six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one.
Tal Tardrew stepped on the hill first for Wanneroo. The starter gave up five hits and 10 runs (nine earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three.
Brendan Sing threw one inning of shutout ball for Morley in relief, giving up zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Morley accumulated 13 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Aaron Bonomi led with three hits in three at-bats. Kieren Chapman and Graham each collected multiple hits, while the defense was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Chapman had the most chances with six.
Wanneroo tallied nine hits, with two apiece for Daniel Stephenson, Byron Armstrong, Jacob Santich, and Jake Turnbull. Stephenson, Santich, Chayce Benseman, and Turnbull each drove in one run, while the defense made one double play.
Carine Cats 2, Braves 1
Both teams were strong on the mound on Sunday, but Carine Cats defeated Braves 2-1. Conor Lourey started the game for Carine and recorded nine outs.
A home run to left field by Cameran Brantley on the ninth pitch of the at-bat put the Cats on board in the top of the first.
Jake Bowey hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the second for the Braves.
Meylian Marin pitched four innings in relief for Carine. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking one.
Lourey led things off on the hill for Carine. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run over three innings, striking out four and walking one.
Tucker Smith stepped on the bump first for Braves, giving up two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking none.
Brantley provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Carine with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Cooper McDonnell, Brantley, and Kamil Pejchat each collected one hit while the defense turned three double plays in the game.
Matt Kennelly and Bowey each collected two hits for Braves. Bowey went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. The team piled up six walks as Daniel Choi and Geoff Kerr led with two walks each.
Morley Eagles 8, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 3
Aaron Bonomi collected four hits in five at-bats, as Morley Eagles defeated Victoria Park Belmont 8-3 on Sunday at Crimea Park D1. Bonomi had singles in the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.
Vic Park got on board in the top of the first inning after Joshua Greenham tripled down the left field line, and Ryan Boyer singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Morley jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Ben Crook walked, Bonomi singled to center field, and Matt Dixon grounded into a double play, each scoring one run.
Eagles extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Jess Williams and Cameron Bahr.
Morley starting pitcher Raleigh Pelkonen gave up six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking none. Lachie Waite, Brendan Sing, and Lochlan Southee each came on in relief and shut down the Reds.
Ryusuke Ito began the game for Vic Park, giving up nine hits and six runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three.
Morley collected 15 hits in the game. Bonomi and Williams each collected four hits while Kieren Chapman had two hits in three at-bats. The defense was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error as Bahr made the most plays with nine.
Vic Park totaled nine hits in the game, with two each for Boyer, Greenham, and Kanta Suzuki. Boyer, Greenham, and William Truscott each drove in one run and the defense turned three double plays.
Perth 15, South Perth Souths 4
Perth won big over South Perth 15-4 on Sunday at Inglewood Oval D1.
South Perth got on board in the top of the first inning after Carlton Branch grounded into a fielder’s choice, and Luke Mann walked, each scoring one run.
Perth flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Austin Moyle that drove in two.
Perth added two runs in the second after Jai Hewitt doubled to center field.
Perth scored five runs on six hits in the bottom of the third inning. Jalen McGee hit a solo home run to left field, Spencer Sarringar doubled, scoring one run, Hewitt grounded out, scoring one run, and Kaine Newham singled, scoring two runs.
Brayden Moyle earned the win for Perth. The reliever gave up one hit and one run over two innings, striking out two and walking one.
Oliver Humphreys took the loss for South Perth. The starter went one and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out one and walking two.
Evan Rutckyj stepped on the mound first for Perth. The hurler gave up two hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking four. Hewitt threw two innings of zero-run ball in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit, striking out three and walking two.
Perth totaled 16 hits in the game. Hewitt drove the middle of the lineup, leading Perth with four runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Moyle, the number seven hitter, went 3-for-3 while Newham, Riley Oliphant, Ben Nesbit, and Sarringar also collected multiple hits. They stole four bases while the defense didn’t make any errors. Sarringar had the most chances in the field with nine.
Mann led South Perth with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Joel Vlasic set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading South Perth with two hits in three at-bats. Kent Fitzgibbons took two of the team’s eight walks.
Rockingham Rams 14, Gosnells Hawks 3
Rockingham Rams easily dispatched Gosnells Hawks on Sunday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1, 14-3.
Rockingham opened scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Rams got on the board when Vincent Tarantola singled, scoring two runs. They added four more in the second on five hits. Joshua Diggins singled, scoring one run, Yosuke Fujie homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Jesse Sequeira doubled, scoring one more.
Jacques Langford hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Tyler Hill doubled, scoring two more for Rockingham in the third.
Isaac Keehn started on the bump for Rockingham, giving up five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four and walking two. Taylor Cook pitched one inning of shutout ball in relief, giving up zero hits, striking out two and walking one.
Jason Armstrong stepped on the hill first for Gosnells. The starting pitcher allowed 11 hits and 10 runs (seven earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking three.
Rockingham totaled 14 hits in the game. Fujie led with three runs batted in as the infielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Hill had three hits in three at-bats while David Nichols, Sequeira, and Diggins also collected multiple hits. Fujie led with two of the team’s six walks and Jax Williams stole two bases. The defense didn’t commit a single error in the field as Hill had the most chances with seven.
Ryan Smith drove the middle of the lineup, leading Gosnells with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Taj Varga, Temauri Lane, Smith, Lee Wisby, and Louis Scaramella each collected one hit while the defense turned two double plays in the game.
Rockingham Rams 7, Gosnells Hawks 4
Yosuke Fujie collected three hits in four at-bats, as Rockingham Rams defeated Gosnells Hawks 7-4 on Sunday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1. Fujie tripled in the first, doubled in the third, and singled in the fifth.
Rockingham got on board in the top of the first inning after Fujie tripled down the left field line, Jesse Sequeira singled down the right field line, and David Nichols singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. They added one run in the third after Sequeira tripled to center field.
Jax Williams started on the mound for Rockingham, giving up zero hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking seven. Tyler Hill tossed one inning of zero-run ball in relief, giving up zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Tane Botting stepped on the mound first for Gosnells. The hurler surrendered six hits and four runs over three innings, striking out none and walking one.
Rockingham tallied 11 hits in the game. Sequeira provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Nichols also collected two hits in four at-bats. The defense didn’t commit a single error in the field as Monty Smith had the most chances with seven.
Noah Stokic, Jordan Trainer, Rhys Wharton, and Aden Lynn each collected one hit for Gosnells. Stokic went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Louis Scaramella took two of the team’s seven walks. The defense turned one double play.
Swan Districts Swans 4, Wanneroo Giants 0
Kye Varrone threw a shutout to lead Swan Districts past Wanneroo Giants 4-0 on Sunday at Mateljan Reserve D1.
Swans scored in the second when Rowan Edmunds singled.
Arnad Mulamekic stepped on the hill first for Wanneroo. The hurler surrendered five hits and three runs over four and one-third innings, striking out six and walking three.
Anthony Daniele and Edmunds each collected two hits for Swan Districts. Daniele, Riley Ozanne, Jackson Pollard, and Edmunds each drove in one run.
Wanneroo’s Daniel Stephenson, the number seven hitter, led with two hits in three at-bats. The defense turned one double play and didn’t commit a single error as Stephenson had the most chances in the field with 17.
