Rockingham Rams 2, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 0
Both teams were strong on the bump on Friday, but Rockingham Rams defeated Victoria Park Belmont 2-0. Isaac Keehn started the game for Rams and recorded 21 outs.
A single by Jesse Sequeira put Rockingham on the board in the bottom of the first.
Keehn earned the win for Rams. The pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking three.
Andrew Hurrelbrink took the loss for Vic Park. The starter went five innings, giving up one run on six hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Sequeira and Joshua Diggins each collected two hits for Rockingham. Sequeira and Sam Sheppard each drove in one run while the defense turned two double plays in the game. Rams didn’t make any errors as Jacques Langford had the most fielding chances with eight.
Ben Warrington and Kanta Suzuki each collected one hit for Vic Park as the defense turned two double plays.
Carine Cats 6, Wanneroo Giants 3
Carine Cats were victorious against Wanneroo Giants 6-3 on Sunday at Tindale Park D1.
Wanneroo was first on the board in the third when Chayce Benseman doubled, scoring one run. Carine took the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Cooper Granland hit a 2-RBI single, making it 2-1.
Harry Wooden doubled down the left field line, which helped Giants tie the game at two in the top of the fifth. The tie didn’t last long, as Carine’s Cameran Brantley homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the inning. Then a home run to center field by Lucas Nelson followed to extend the lead to 6-2.
Conor Lourey earned the win for Carine, allowing seven hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking three.
Arnad Mulamekic took the loss for Wanneroo. The starter went four innings, giving up two runs on four hits, striking out eight and walking two.
Cooper McDonnell, Brantley, Nelson, Timothy Robinson, Granland, Kamil Pejchat, and Timothy Holmes each collected one hit for Carine. Brantley, Nelson, and Granland each drove in two runs while the defense turned two double plays in the game.
Benseman led Wanneroo with one run batted in as the right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Daniel Stephenson, Jacob Santich, Wooden, Ethan Cooper, Benseman, Jake Turnbull, and Maxim Fullerton each collected one hit.
Braves 13, Swan Districts Swans 6
Sam Kennelly hit two home runs and drove in five as Braves defeated Swan Districts 13-6 on Sunday at Frankland Park D1. Kennelly homered in the fourth and seventh innings.
Swans were the first to get on the board in the first when Michael De Gasperis homered to left field, scoring two runs. Braves scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to center field by Kennelly.
Braves took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Kennelly doubled down the left field line, and Kevin Clark singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Anthony Daniele homered to center field, which helped Swans tie the game at three in the top of the sixth.
Braves took the lead, 9-3, in the bottom of the seventh thanks to home runs by Kennelly, Clark, and Liam Collins. De Gasperis hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the ninth for the Swans.
Matt Kennelly earned the win for Braves. The starter surrendered eight hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Ryan Nuttall and Yuto Okamura each appeared in relief.
Dillan Clarkson took the loss for Swan Districts. The starter went six innings, giving up seven runs on 11 hits, striking out six and walking two.
Braves totaled 15 hits in the game. Kennelly, Clark, and Okamura each collected three hits while the defense was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Clark made the most plays with 12.
Swans totaled 10 hits in the game. De Gasperis provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading with three runs batted in as the 3-hole hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Riley Ozanne went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the side in hits, and Daniele went 2-for-4.
Ozanne paced Swan Districts with two out of six walks. The defense didn’t make any errors as Nick Hoyt had the most chances in the field with 10.
Gosnells Hawks 15, South Perth Souths 0
Robin Adamson drove in seven runs on four hits to lead Gosnells Hawks past South Perth 15-0 on Sunday at Tom Bateman Reserve D1. Adamson hit an RBI double in the first, a 3-HR in the second, and RBI singles in the third and fourth.
Gosnells got on board in the bottom of the first inning after Adamson doubled, scoring one run, and Tim Leitch singled, scoring two runs. Temauri Lane hit an RBI double before Jarrod McKay and Hudson Morawiec followed up with RBI singles.
Adamson homered to right field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second for Gosnells. Hawks added to their early lead in the third when Adamson singled, scoring one run, Leitch tripled, scoring one run, and Lane doubled, scoring two runs.
Patrick Frezza started on the mound for Gosnells, giving up one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking five.
Takashi Umino stepped on the bump first for South Perth. The pitcher surrendered six hits and six runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one.
Gosnells accumulated 16 hits in the game. Louis Scaramella, Lane, Lee Wisby, and Leitch each collected multiple hits while the defense turned one double play. Hawks were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error as Enzel Takuta made the most plays with five.
Luke Mann led South Perth with one hit in one at-bat. The defense didn’t make any errors as Joel Vlasic had the most chances in the field with three.
Morley Eagles 9, UWA Magpies 1
Ben Crook collected three hits in three at-bats, as Morley Eagles defeated UWA Magpies 9-1 on Sunday at Crimea Park D1. Crook doubled in the first inning, singled in the third, and doubled again in the fourth.
UWA Magpies opened scoring in the first after Kyle Poapst doubled, scoring one run. Morley took the lead in the bottom half after Crook doubled to left field and Lachie Waite grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring two runs.
Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jeremy Sexton grounded into a fielder’s choice, Josh Silvi doubled down the right field line, and Bodee Wright flew out, each scoring one run.
Kane Silvi started on the mound for Morley, giving up two hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Brady Manning and Zai Gordon each came on in relief.
Chris Crawford stepped on the mound first for UWA Magpies. The starter gave up seven hits and nine runs (six earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking five.
Morley collected nine hits in the game. Matt Dixon and Wright each collected multiple hits and Aaron Bonomi stole two bases. The defense turned one double play.
Poapst went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. UWA Magpies turned one double play in the game.
Morley Eagles 11, UWA Magpies 0
Aaron Bonomi drove in four runs on two hits to lead Morley past UWA Magpies 11-0 on Sunday at Crimea Park D1. Bonomi tripled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fourth inning, scoring one.
Eagles won thanks in part to six runs in the fourth inning. Bodee Wright and Bonomi each doubled, scoring one run. Next, Ben Crook doubled, scoring two runs, and Jayson Miller doubled, scoring two runs.
Morley jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Bonomi tripled, scoring three runs, an error scored one run, and Jeremy Sexton hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Lochlan Southee earned the win for Morley. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Starter Koskei Partington-Hopes surrendered three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four and walking two.
Joshua Houston took the loss for UWA Magpies. The hurler went four innings, giving up 11 runs (nine earned) on 10 hits, striking out one and walking one.
Morley totaled 10 hits in the game. Bonomi and Wright were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits while the defense didn’t commit a single error in the field. Tex Prisov had the most chances with three.
Chris Crawford, Kyle Poapst, and Adam England each collected one hit for UWA Magpies.
Perth 9, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 8
Perth topped Victoria Park Belmont 9-8 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. It was tied at eight in the top of the tenth when Dylan Bojarski drew a walk, scoring one run.
Perth collected 15 hits and Vic Park had 10 in the high-scoring affair.
Perth scored in the first on Spencer Sarringar’s RBI single and added another in the second when Riley Oliphant hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 2-0.
Vic Park scored one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to left field by Ryan Boyer.
Perth added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning on three hits. Bojarski hit a solo home run to center field, and Oliphant drew a walk, scoring one run.
Reds responded with two in the bottom of the eighth on a home run to left field by Kanta Suzuki. They eventually tied it in the ninth thanks to a double by Suzuki and an error.
Jake White opened the game for Perth. The right-handed pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs over five and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none. Jordano Vivona, Boston Foot, Sarringar, and Travis McDonald each threw shutout innings in relief.
Ryusuke Ito stepped on the bump first for Vic Park. The starter surrendered 10 hits and six runs over six and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking three.
Perth accumulated 15 hits in the game. Josh McGee, Brayden Moyle, and Sarringar each collected three hits while Kaine Newham and Bojarski drove in two runs apiece. Austin Moyle went 2-for-5 and had two walks alongside McGee and Bojarski (seven total). The defense turned one double play in the game.
Reds collected 10 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Suzuki led with three hits in five at-bats, while Joshua Greenham had two hits. The defense had a double play, too.
Wanneroo Giants 6, Carine Cats 3
Wanneroo Giants bested Carine Cats 6-3 on Sunday at Tindale Park D1.
A walk by Cameran Brantley put Carine on board in the bottom of the first. Cats added to their early lead in the third after Kamil Pejchat doubled down the left field line, and Wanneroo made an error, each scoring one run.
Jake Turnbull hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fourth for the Giants. Adam Barbarich followed up with a home run to center field as Wanneroo tied the game at three in the fifth.
In the top of the eighth, Wanneroo broke up the tie when Daniel Stephenson singled, scoring two runs. Then a single by Nicholas Riley followed to extend the lead to 6-3.
Dylan Bandy started on the hill for Wanneroo. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two.
Timothy Holmes started on the mound for Carine, giving up six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Tom Bailey threw three innings of zero-run ball for Wanneroo in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.
Giants tallied nine hits in the game. Stephenson led with three hits in four at-bats and two runs batted in alongside Barbarich. Harry Wooden collected two hits for Wanneroo in three at-bats while the defense made two double plays.
Cooper McDonnell, Brantley, Finley Scott, and Pejchat each collected one hit for Carine. Pejchat went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in, while McDonnell stole two bases. Cats were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error as Conor Lourey had the most chances with 11.
