It was a big weekend of baseball as the 2025-26 Qbit CBL N/S Division 1 season continued. Braves, Wanneroo, Carine Grey, and Willetton came away with wins in Week 14.

Braves 9, Roleystone 8
Bats were blistered as Braves outsted Roleystone 9-8 on Sunday at Springdale Oval D1. Braves collected eight hits, while Roleystone had 10.
Despite falling down by five runs in the third inning, Roleystone tried to fight back, closing the gap by scoring on a four singles, an error, and a sacrifice fly.
Braves jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Dan Plummer singled and Billy Donovan drew a walk, each scoring one run. Shaun Kurghan followed up by hitting a 2-RBI single.
A double by Brett Edwards extended the Braves lead to 6-1 in the top of the third inning.
Roleystone scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Thomas Dickson and Andrew Isles hit RBI singles before Jesse Scidone’s base hit scored two and an error brought home one more.
In the top of the fourth, Braves broke up the tie when Donovan doubled, scoring one run. A single by Andrew Reid followed to extend the lead to 8-6.
Reid stepped on the hill first for Braves. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and six runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Dillon Best appeared in relief.
Michael North started on the hill for Roleystone. The hurler allowed five hits and four runs over two innings, striking out one and walking two.
Edwards, number seven hitter for Braves, led with two hits in two at-bats. Phil Hawke took two of the team’s six walks.
Roleystone tallied 10 hits in the game. Scidone drove the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in as the infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. North and Andrew Drury each collected two hits while Scidone had three of the team’s four stolen bases.
Carine Cats Grey 8, Balcatta Bears 1
Paul Flanagan collected three hits in four at-bats, as Carine Cats Grey defeated Balcatta Bears 8-1 on Sunday at Tindale Park D1. Flanagan had singles in the first, fourth, and fifth innings.
Cats scored six runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Mark Summers and Flanagan hit RBI singles before Fraser Clarke induced Ben Hoffman to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Justin Hayto singled, scoring two runs, and Brett Plummer doubled, scoring one run.
An error put Carine on the board in the bottom of the first. Caleb Day singled to right field, which helped Balcatta tie the game at one in the top of the fourth.
Hoffman started on the mound for Carine. The hurler gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Hayto tossed two innings of zero-run ball in relief, allowing one hit, striking out none and walking one.
Clarke stepped on the bump first for Balcatta. The pitcher gave up seven hits and seven runs (six earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out none and walking three.
Carine collected 10 hits in the game. Summers collected two hits in three at-bats. Flanagan, Scott Plenderleith, and Matt Lawrence each stole multiple bases with 11 total in the game. The defense turned one double play.
Elliot Bruse, Day, and Kyle Stephenson each collected one hit for Balcatta. Day led Bears with one run batted in as the shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day.
Willetton Wildcats 18, Alkimos Titans 2
Travis Grigg drove in four runs on four hits to lead Willetton Wildcats past Alkimos Titans 18-2 on Sunday at Willetton Oval D3. Grigg hit a home run to center field in the second inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the fourth inning, scoring two.
Willetton got on board in the bottom of the first inning after Michael Bellenger singled to left field, David Wright walked, and Scott Drew grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.
Four more Willetton runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 7-0. Grigg hit a two-run homer to center field before Sean Wright singled and Wright lined out, each scoring one run.
Wildcats added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jonas Bowron singled to left field, Brendan Clark singled down the left field line, Geoff Otterman doubled to center field, and Glen Tovey singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Willetton scored seven runs on seven hits in the fourth inning. Kaylan Grigg singled, scoring one run, before Connor Stanton induced Clark to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Otterman singled, scoring one run, Grigg doubled, scoring two, and Tovey singled, also scoring two.
Clark stepped on the mound first for Willetton. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Bellenger threw one inning of no-run ball in relief, giving up zero hits, striking out two and walking two.
Donald Westbrook led things off on the hill for Alkimos Titans. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out none and walking five.
Willetton totaled 18 hits in the game. Otterman, Drew, Tovey, and Bowron each collected multiple hits while the team stole six bases. The defense was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error as Tovey made the most plays with five.
Phil Burns and Matt McCurdy were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Alkimos.
Wanneroo Giants 8, Carine Cats Blue 3
Wanneroo Giants were victorious against Carine Cats Blue 8-3 on Sunday at Mateljan Oval D4. Cats got on board in the first after Simon Macneall singled to center field and Brian Maloney walked, each scoring one run.
Giants quickly retook the lead their first time up after Xavier De Haas hit a sacrifice fly, Meaghan Haggart walked, and Jessica Knight flew out, each scoring one run.
A single by Sam Zurzolo extended the Wanneroo lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the second inning. Megan Everitt grounded out, Charlotte Yates walked, and Grace Spano walked, each scoring one run in the third.
Haggart led things off on the mound for Wanneroo, giving up one hit and two runs over two innings, striking out three and walking three.
Macneall opened the game for Carine. The hurler surrendered zero hits and three runs over one inning, striking out none and walking five.
Spano threw two innings of scoreless ball for Wanneroo in relief, allowing one hit, striking out none and walking one.
Yates, De Haas, Zurzolo, and Haggart each collected one hit for Wanneroo. Yates, De Haas, Spano, and Everitt each drove in one run. The team had patience at the plate, accumulating 16 walks for the game with three apiece for Yates and Ryla Larner. Knight had two of the team’s six stolen bases stole two bases. The defense turned one double play with no errors in the field as Zurzolo made the most plays with six.
Murray Halse, Macneall, and Maloney each drove in one run for Carine. Macneall went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the side in hits.
