Balcatta, Carine Blue, Carine Grey, and Braves were winners in Week 17.

Balcatta Bears 11, Wanneroo Giants 2
Ashley Murchison collected three hits in four at-bats as Balcatta Bears defeated Wanneroo Giants 11-2 on Sunday at Richard Guelfi Reserve. Murchison singled in the second and third innings before a triple in the fifth.
Balcatta won thanks in part to eight runs in the fifth inning. Murchison tripled, Caleb Day singled, and Brad Gaynor singled, each scoring one run. Next, an error scored one run, Jake Stephenson doubled, scoring two runs, and Elliot Bruse and Alan Burman hit RBI singles.
Wanneroo got on board in the first inning after Sam Zurzolo was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Balcatta went back into the lead in the third after Burman singled to center field, Murchison singled to the right side of the infield, and Day singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Bears starter Day gave up one hit and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking four.
Meaghan Haggart stepped on the bump first for Wanneroo. The starter allowed five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one.
Dan Bailey threw two innings of zero-run ball for Balcatta in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking four.
Balcatta totaled 13 hits in the game. Murchison and Burman were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits. Day went 2-for-3.
Charlotte Yates led Wanneroo with one hit in three at-bats. Haggart took two of the team’s eight walks on the day.
Carine Cats Blue 17, Roleystone 16
Nathan Magorian hit two home runs and drove in seven as Carine Cats Blue defeated Roleystone 17-16 on Sunday.
Bats blistered as Carine collected eight hits and Roleystone tallied 10 in the high-scoring game.
Roleystone got on the board in the top of the first inning after Dwayne Pycroft drew a walk, scoring one run, Jamie Wilkes singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, and a wild pitch scored two runs.
Roleystone added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Pycroft singled to left field, Danial Plane was struck by a pitch, Andrew Drury walked, and Josh Coe was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Carine flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring 13 runs on five hits to take the lead, 15-11. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to center field by Magorian that drove in four.
Cats added two runs in the third. Clayton Fragall singled down the left field line, making the score 17-12.
Mitchell Fragall earned the win for Carine. The reliever gave up four hits and five runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking four.
Jesse Scidone took the loss for Roleystone. The starter went one and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out none and walking seven.
Brian Maloney started on the bump for Carine Blue, giving up six hits and 11 runs (seven earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking five.
Magorian, Fragall, Shaun Baker, and Paul Donati each collected two hits for Cats. They had patience at the plate, with nine walks overall including two apiece for Maloney, Fragall, and Adam Melis. They turned one double play in the game.
Roleystone totaled 10 hits in the game. Plane, the number eight hitter, led the way with three runs batted in as the second baseman went 1-for-1 on the day.
Mitchell Smart, Scidone, and Wilkes each collected two hits. Drury and Plane led the team with two bases on balls each. Roleystone took nine walks and stole six bases overall.
Carine Cats Grey 8, Willetton Wildcats 5
Brett Plummer collected three hits in three at-bats, as Carine Cats Grey defeated Willetton Wildcats 8-5 on Sunday at Millington Oval D4. Plummer hit a home run to center field in the first inning, singled in the third, and singled again in the fifth.
Carine jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Justin Hayto doubled, scoring one run, and Plummer homered to center field, scoring two runs. Cats added one run in the second after Alexander Hall grounded out.
Carine added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jarrod Ross homered to left field, Plummer singled to center field, and Scott Plenderleith singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Ben Hoffman led things off on the bump for Carine. The pitcher gave up seven hits and two runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Plummer threw one inning of zero-run ball in relief, allowing one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Willetton starter Brendan Clark gave up 12 hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out none and walking none.
Carine totaled 14 hits in the game, with multiple for Hoffman and Plenderleith. Plummer, Hoffman, and Ross each stole multiple bases with 10 overall in the game. The defense turned three double plays and was sure-handed in the field with no errors. Sean Quinlan made the most plays with eight.
Willetton collected 10 hits with two apiece for Scott Drew, Justin Pascoe, and Glen Tovey. Drew went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in while Jonas Bowron took two of the team’s six walks. The defense didn’t commit a single error asTovey made the most plays with eight.
Braves 11, Alkimos Titans 7
Braves trailed by as many as four, but came back to top Alkimos Titans 11-7 on Sunday at Halesworth Park D2.
A single by Andrew Reid put Braves on board in the top of the first.
Alkimos flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on one hit to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Terry Dean that drove in two.
Titans added one run in the second. Dylahn Lawrence singled to the left side of the infield following a 6-pitch at-bat, making the score 6-3.
Braves captured the lead, 9-6, in the top of the fourth after Darryl Olsen singled down the right field line, Robert Olivieri singled to the right side of the infield, Phil Hawke singled down the right field line, and Tremaine Roberts singled, each scoring one run.
Reid pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Braves. The reliever gave up four hits and two runs while striking out five and walking five.
Hawke started on the mound for Braves. The hurler surrendered one hit and five runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking six.
Lawrence started the game for Alkimos, giving up two hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three and walking six.
Braves piled up 10 hits in the game. Olivieri, Hawke, and Olsen each collected two hits while Hawke and Roberts drove in two runs apiece. Olivieri led Braves with two out of six walks.
Dean went 1-for-3 at the plate and led Alkimos with two runs batted in. Xavier Longley, Lawrence, Clinton Du Preez, Ben Gannon, and Dean each collected one hit while Ben Dandie took three out of the team’s 11 walks. Lawrence stole three bases with six total for the Titans.
