Kalgoorlie Baseball is starting up again this weekend, with tryouts for U15s at 6pm Saturday, U17s 8pm this Saturday, then U19s and open men’s baseball 6pm this Sunday.
The competition, which may need to be modified slightly depending on numbers, is due to start from 6pm on Saturday 7 February, with U15s, followed by U17s and U19s and Open Men’s Baseball on Sunday 8 February at 6pm.
Kids should be inspired with pathways from tee-ball all the way through to professional baseball, as evidenced by the recent performance of Byron Armstrong in the Australian Baseball League, after representing Australia at the U23 level.
Australia came 11th in the world at the last World Baseball Classic after being as high as ninth in previous years and are looking strong for the upcoming WBC from 5-17 March. Baseball will be an Olympic sport at Los Angeles in 2028 and Brisbane in 2032.
