A Stitch in Time is excited to announce a new partnership with Baseball WA, designed to bolster mental health and wellbeing initiatives within the baseball community throughout Western Australia.
Baseball WA is committed to prioritising the mental health of its members, recognising the importance of education and support in fostering a healthy and resilient community. To achieve this, Baseball WA has teamed up with A Stitch in Time, an organisation dedicated to raising mental health awareness and providing practical, evidence-based resources.
As part of this partnership, A Stitch in Time will deliver a range of initiatives, including:
- Mental Health Workshops: These workshops, specifically designed for Baseball WA clubs, will focus on raising awareness and providing practical strategies for managing mental health.
- Development of Mental Health Policies: A Stitch in Time will work closely with Baseball WA to assist clubs in developing and implementing comprehensive mental health policies.
- Appointment of Wellbeing Officers: Each club will have the opportunity to appoint a Wellbeing Officer, ensuring ongoing support and a proactive approach to mental health within the community. Mental Health SafeTALK Training: Tailored for Baseball WA members, this training equips participants with the skills to recognise and respond to individuals in distress.
Lachlan Dale, Chief Executive Officer of Baseball WA, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership:
“Partnering with A Stitch in Time represents a significant step forward in our commitment to the mental health and wellbeing of the baseball community in Western Australia. We are thrilled to work with an organisation that shares our values and vision for a healthier, more resilient community.
By providing our clubs and members with the necessary tools, resources, and education, we’re not just supporting mental health—we’re actively creating a culture of care and support within our sport. This partnership underscores our dedication to the holistic development of our players, coaches, and volunteers, ensuring that mental wellbeing is as much a priority as physical fitness.”
Greg Hire, Founder and CEO of A Stitch in Time, also shared his thoughts on the partnership:
“I’m incredibly honoured to partner with Baseball WA, particularly given the emphasis and respect that Lachlan Dale and his team are placing on mental health. It’s one thing to acknowledge the importance of mental wellbeing, but it’s another to take tangible steps to address it—and that’s exactly what Baseball WA is doing. Their commitment to providing education, training, and policy development within the baseball community is truly commendable.
By working together, we’re not just talking about mental health; we’re actively doing something about it. This partnership will ensure that every member of Baseball WA has access to the support they need to not only manage their mental health but to thrive within a community that genuinely cares about their wellbeing.”
Over the next twelve months, A Stitch in Time will work closely with Baseball WA and its clubs to roll out these initiatives, ensuring that every member has the resources and support they need to prioritise their mental wellbeing. Together, we are committed to fostering a community that values and supports the mental health of its members.
