Team Singapore has returned to Perth for its annual seven-day training camp at NSR Hire Ballpark, combining training with matches against five Western Australian State League clubs.
Coordinated by Joseph Tan of Gosnells Hawks Baseball Club, the week brought Singapore’s squad together and provided opportunities to compete against local opposition as they prepare for the East Asia Cup, held from December 5-13 later this year.
The games gave the visiting players a chance to put their training into practice, while offering WA club players the experience of facing an international squad.
With a small number of Team Singapore players already living in Perth and competing in the State Baseball League, the connection extends beyond the annual visit.
Baseball WA thanks Gosnells Hawks, UWA Magpies, Carine Cats, Victoria Park Belmont Reds and South Perth for supporting the tour and providing opportunities for Team Singapore to train and compete in Perth.
Special thanks also go to Joseph Tan for coordinating the visit and to everyone who contributed to the camp. The annual tour continues to bring Singapore’s players and WA clubs together through training, competition and a shared commitment to baseball.
