Baseball WA is excited to announce plans for its brand new Winter Escape USA 2025 for the West Coast Rays. With this discontinuance of West Coast Rays travelling to Queensland for the Down Under Winter Classic due to its move to October, this is an exciting opportunity for players to experience a trip to the west coast of the US, playing baseball and taking in the sights.
Expressions of interest are now open for players in the 16U and 19U age groups who may wish to participate.
Age cutoff dates for each age division are:
- 19U – Cannot be born before Jan 1 2006
- 16U -Cannot be born before Jan 1 2009
Please note the estimated cost per participant is about $7,000 and the trip is expected to run from 28 June to 14 July.
The teams will participate in two tournaments one in Eureka, California and the other in Portland, Oregon as well as scrimmage games in the lead-up to the tournaments against local teams.

- Nike World Headquarters
- Sequoia Park Zoo
- Seattle Mariners and Portland Hillsboro Hops games
- Flights, accommodation, ground transport, food
(personal spending money is at the player’s choice – there will be shopping opportunities)
Proposed schedule:
- 28 June – arrive Seattle (late)
- 29 June, 30 June, 1 July – Port Angeles – tours, practice and games including Mariners v Royals (1 July)
- 2 July – travel day to Portland
- 3-6 July – tournament games – Hillsboro Hops game (4/5/6 July)
- 7 July – travel day to Eureka, CA
- 8-9 July – tours, practice and games
- 10-13 July – tournament games
- 14 July – travel to and depart from San Francisco
