Peter Moylan is known for outstanding and inspiring performances at his club, state, national, and international level.
Peter began his baseball career at South Perth, playing State League in 1994/95/96 and Claxton Shield for Perth Heat in the 1995/96 and 1996/97 seasons. The relief pitcher signed with Minnesota Twins at the age of 17 and although he was released in 1998, he staged a comeback, breaking out in the 2006 World Baseball Classic with Team Australia. He was signed by the Atlanta Braves that same year and became the 22nd Australian to play in the Major Leagues.
Peter went on to have stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals before finishing his MLB playing career back at the Braves in 2018. He represented Australia once more at the 2017 World Baseball Classic and 2019 WBSC Premier12.
In 499 Major League Career Games, he has 324 strikeouts, 418.2 innings pitched, a 3.10 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 24 wins, and four saves. Since his retirement from playing, he has gone on to manage the Melbourne Aces and continues to inspire WA and Australian baseballers to follow their dreams.
