That’s a wrap on the first half of the Harcher State League season, with South Perth, Morley, Gosnells, Victoria Park Belmont, and Rockingham picking up wins going into the midseason break. Wanneroo, Braves, Morley, Vic Park, and Perth round out the top five.

South Perth Souths 11, Carine Cats 5
Simon Baumer drove in six runs on five hits to lead South Perth Souths past Carine Cats 11-5 on Sunday at Collins Oval. Baumer homered in the fourth and doubled in the fifth before 2-RBI singles in both the sixth and eighth innings.
South Perth got on the board in the first with an RBI single from Adam Barbarich.
Carine took the lead in the top of the second after Tarrant Reimers homered to left field, Bailey Moorfield was struck by a pitch, and Cas Silber walked, each scoring one run.
Baumer hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the fourth for South Perth. The team regained the lead in the fifth as Brett Walters singled and Baumer doubled, both with RBIs.
Carine scored one run in the top of the seventh on a solo homer to left field by Josh Davies.
Jai Hewitt earned the win for South Perth, allowing four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five and walking six.
Reimers took the loss for Carine. The reliever went two and one-third innings, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking one.
Joseph Ranford started on the bump for South Perth. They allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four and walking two.
Conor Lourey stepped on the hill first for Carine. He allowed eight hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking two.
South Perth racked up 18 hits in the game, with multiple hits for Caleb Goodwin, Jaxon Limpus, Barbarich, and Walters.
Souths turned one double play in the game with no errors as Walters made nine plays, the most on the team.
Carlos Salas, Carine’s number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in five at-bats. Moorfield had two runs batted in as the right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
Carine had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Silber and Josh Molen took two walks each as Cats turned one double play.
Morley Eagles 1, Wanneroo Giants 0
Morley Eagles defeated Wanneroo Giants 1-0 on Sunday at Mateljan Park as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Bendan Sing and Lachlan Waite took their turns on the mound, with Sing inducing a groundout from Dawson Summers to get the last out.
The pitching was strong on both sides as Morley pitchers struck out five and Wanneroo sat down nine.
A sacrifice fly by Aaron Bonomi put Morley on the board in the top of the third.
Waite started on the mound for Morley, giving up five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.
Jacob Myer opened the game for Wanneroo, allowing four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.
Sing pitched two innings of zero-run ball for Morley in relief, giving up one hit with a strikeout and no walks.
Luke Hughes led Morley with two hits in four at-bats. Bonomi led the team with one run batted in while the defense was strong, turning a double play in an error-free game. Sam Abbott had the most chances in the field with 13.
Drake Angeron went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Wanneroo in hits.
Gosnells Hawks 11, UWA Magpies 1
Gosnells Hawks easily dispatched UWA Magpies 11-1 on Sunday at UWA Sports Park.
Hawks got on the board in the top of the first after Calvin Butler doubled, Rodney Tennie hit a sacrifice fly, and Luke Houston walked, each scoring one run.
Bass Cooper hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the first for UWA Magpies.
Houston’s single extended Gosnells lead to 4-1 in the top of the third.
Jack Burt stepped on the mound first for Gosnells, giving up three hits and one run over six innings with nine strikeouts and one walk.
Fujiura Masato started the game for UWA Magpies, giving up five hits and six runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking five.
Riley Hall threw three innings of scoreless ball for Gosnells in relief, allowing just one hit with four strikeouts and no walks.
Gosnells tallied 10 hits in the game as Butler went 3-for-6 and Tennie and Houston had multiple hits, too.
Hawks took nine walks with two apiece for Houston and Jarrod McKay, while the defense didn’t make any errors. Houston had the most chances in the field with 14.
Cooper, Riley Spring, Jake Wilson, and Adam England each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. Cooper went 1-for-3 at the plate as the number three hitter led the team with one run batted in. They turned one double play in the game.
Victoria Park Belmont 4, Perth 2
Sean Garratt collected three hits in five at-bats as Victoria Park Belmont defeated Perth 4-2 on Sunday at Inglewood Oval. Garratt singled in the first, third, and seventh innings.
Mizuki Akatsuka struck out 10 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also gave up four hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking one.
A single by Jack Smalpage on a 0-2 count put Vic Park on the board in the top of the first.
Brian (Tanner) Jessen-Dalton took the loss for Perth. The starter threw three innings, giving up one run on four hits, striking out four and walking two. Mathew Martin appeared in relief for Vic Park.
Vic Park collected 13 hits in the game. Ryan Boyer went 4-for-4 and Joshua Greenham went 1-for-4 at the plate as the catcher led the team with two runs batted in. Garratt had multiple hits alongside Smalpage and stole two bases.
Edgar Mundarain led Perth with three hits in four at-bats. Perth turned four double plays in the game.
Rockingham Rams 11, Swan Districts Swans 3
Jesse Sequeira collected three hits in five at-bats as Rockingham Rams defeated Swan Districts Swans 11-3 on Sunday at Charlie Hodder Baseball Field. Sequeira had base hits in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings.
A double by Darryl Artis on a 0-2 count put Rockingham on the board in the top of the third.
Brock Molloy stepped on the bump first for Rockingham. The starter allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking four.
Cameron Liss opened the game for Swan Districts, allowing five hits and three runs over six innings. He struck out nine and walked three.
Rockingham’s Vincent Tarantola pitched one inning of no-run ball, giving up one hit with no strikeouts or walks.
Rams collected 11 hits in the game, including multiple hits for Jesse Neretlis and Artis and three of the team’s eight walks by Ashton Crouch. Rockingham turned one double play in the game.
Michael De Gasperis drove the middle of the lineup, leading Swan Districts with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day.
De Gasperis, Ashton Hamilton, Cameron Phelts, Anthony Daniele, Josh Dowling, and Boston Foot had one hit apiece for Swan Districts while the defense turned one double play.
