Braves, Wanneroo, Victoria Park Belmont, Perth, and Carine took care of business over the weekend in Harcher State League. Wanneroo, Braves, Morley, and Vic Park make up the Top 4 right now.

Braves 22, Gosnells Hawks 7
James Smibert hit two home runs and drove in six as Braves defeated Gosnells 22-7 on Saturday at Tom Bateman Sporting Complex. Smibert homered in the seventh and eighth innings.
A home run to right field by Josh Kennelly put Braves on the board in the top of the first.
Braves scored five runs on two hits in the top of the second inning. Smibert and Kennelly had 2-RBI base hits and Cody Parkinson grounded out, scoring one run.
Gosnells scored three runs in the bottom of the second on a home run to right field by Riley Hall.
Three more Braves runs crossed the plate in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 14-6. Jack Rigden singled, scoring one run, and Smibert homered to center field, scoring two more.
Braves scored eight runs on nine hits in the top of the eighth inning. Rigden doubled, scoring two runs, Lenny Golding tripled, scoring one run, and Smibert homered to center field, scoring two. Geoff Kerr hit an RBI single and Nicholas Davis brought home two on a double.
Todd Hatcher earned the win for Braves. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and five runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking four.
Hall took the loss for Gosnells. He went three and one-third innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. Smibert threw one inning of no-run ball for Braves in relief, giving up no hits or walks with a strikeout.
Braves collected 22 hits in the game, with four apiece for Kerr, Kennelly, and Smibert. Kevin Clark, Rigden, and Davis also had multiple hits.
Davis took two of the team’s seven walks while Kerr had two of four stolen bases.
Gosnells tallied nine hits, with Jarrod McKay and Hall recording two each. Hall had 3 RBIs from the number seven spot in the lineup, going 2-for-5 on the day. Louis Scaramella took three of the team’s six walks while the defense turned one double play.
Next up for Braves is a game at Rockingham on Sunday while Gosnells has a doubleheader vs. Morley.
Carine Cats 7, UWA Magpies 6
It came down to the wire on Sunday at Carine Regional Open Space, with Cats walking it off for a 7-6 victory over UWA Magpies. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the tenth when Carlos Salas singled, scoring one run.
Conor Lourey collected four hits in five at-bats in the win. He singled in the fifth, doubled in the sixth, and singled twice more across the eighth and ninth innings.
UWA Magpies got on the board in the top of the third inning after Jake Willson stole home and Bass Cooper walked, each scoring one run.
Carine tied the game up in the bottom of the ninth thanks to two singles, with Lourey’s RBI base hit making it 4-4.
In the top of the tenth, UWA Magpies broke up the tie when Cooper hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Then a wild pitch followed to extend the lead to 6-4.
Carine captured a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the tenth when an error scored two runs, and Salas singled, bringing home the winning run.
Lourey pitched five innings in relief for Carine, giving up two hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking none.
Jordan Power stepped on the mound first for Carine, giving up one hit and two runs over two and one-third innings, striking out five and walking three.
Nick Alexiou led things off on the mound for UWA Magpies, allowing seven hits and two runs over six innings with 11 strikeouts and one walk.
Carine tallied 13 hits in the game. Josh Davies and Salas each collected multiple hits while the Cats had five stolen bases.
Willson, Joris Van Ballegooy, Michael Albertini, Eita Samukawa, and Jacob Davila each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. Van Ballegooy and Cooper were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for UWA Magpies.
Carine will travel to South Perth for their next game on Friday while UWA Magpies head to South Perth on Sunday.
Perth 3, Rockingham Rams 0
Perth defeated Rockingham Rams 3-0 on Sunday at Hourglass Reserve as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Matteo Pizziconi, Jake White, and Brian (Tanner) Jessen-Dalton each pitched for Perth. White induced a fly out from Jesse Sequeira to get the last out.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Perth pitchers struck out 12, while Rockingham sat down 10.
Perth got on board in the top of the fifth after Rockingham committed an error and Jalen McGee singled, each scoring one run.
Jessen-Dalton stepped on the bump first for Perth, allowing one hit in six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts and one walk.
Vinnie Tarantola started for Rockingham. He allowed six hits and three runs (one earned) over nine innings, striking out 10 and walking two.
Pizziconi tossed two and two-thirds innings of shutout ball for Perth in relief. He gave up three hits, striking out two and walking one.
Jordano Vivona and McGee each collected two hits for Perth. McGee went 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs.
Perth didn’t make any errors as Edgar Mundarain had the most chances in the field with 12.
Joshua Diggins, David Nichols, Jesse Neretlis, and Darryl Artis each collected one hit for Rockingham as the defense turned one double play in the game.
Perth will travel to Vic Park Belmont for their next game on Friday while Rockingham hosts Braves at home on Sunday.
Vic Park Belmont 2, Morley Eagles 1
Both teams were strong on the hill on Sunday as Victoria Park Belmont outlasted Morley 2-1. Mathew Martin started the game for Vic Park and recorded 18 outs.
Reds got on board in the bottom of the second inning after Joshua Greenham doubled and Joshua Cosgrove singled, each scoring a run.
Martin earned the win for Vic Park. He gave up six hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Mizuki Akatsuka collected the save.
Troy Cruz took the loss for Morley. He went six innings, surrendering two runs (zero earned) on six hits, striking out six and walking none.
Greenham went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Vic Park Belmont. Cosgrove batted in the other run while the defense did a solid job, turning one double play while keeping Morley under control.
Kieran Chapman and Mitch Power each collected two hits for Morley.
Reds play at home on Friday against Perth and Morley has a Sunday doubleheader at Gosnells.
Wanneroo Giants 6, Swan Districts Swans 1
Wanneroo Giants were victorious against Swan Districts Swans 6-1 on Sunday at Charlie Hodder Baseball Field.
Wanneroo got on board in the top of the third inning after Nicholas Riley hit into a fielder’s choice, Jacob Santich grounded out, and a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Anthony Daniele hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth for Swan Districts.
Jacob Myer opened the game for Wanneroo, giving up two hits and one run over four innings with a pair of strikeouts and no walks.
Cameron Liss led things off on the hill for Swan Districts. The righty allowed five hits and six runs (four earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking seven.
Jay Bullingham threw three innings of scoreless ball for Wanneroo in relief. He allowed three hits, striking out four and walking none.
Courtney Jones led Wanneroo Giants with two hits in two at-bats. Riley, Ben King, Santich, and Dawson Summers each drove in one run.
Giants practiced patience at the plate, tallying up eight walks for the game. Ethan Cooper, Jones, and Rob Sorensen led the team with two walks each. Cooper and Jones also stole multiple bases as Wanneroo had seven SBs total.
Jones had the most chances in the field with 13 in an error-free game for Wanneroo.
Daniele led Swan Districts with two hits in three at-bats.
Wanneroo Giants 7, Swan Districts Swans 5
Wanneroo Giants built a six-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Swan Districts’ charge for a 7-5 victory. Swans closed the gap by scoring on two singles and two groundouts.
Nicholas Riley collected three hits in three at-bats in the victory. He homered to left field in the first inning, doubled in the fourth, and singled in the seventh.
After Wanneroo’s early lead, Anthony Daniele hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
In the top of the second, Wanneroo broke up the tie as Ethan Cooper grounded out, scoring one run. A double play followed to extend the lead to 3-1.
Wanneroo added four more runs on four hits in the top of the fourth. Courtney Jones singled, scoring one run before Ben King hit a three-run homer to left field.
Frazer Brice stepped on the mound first for Wanneroo. The righty gave up seven hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Rob Sorensen appeared in relief.
Dillian Clarkson began the game for Swan Districts. He gave up nine hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out one and walking six.
Wanneroo tallied 11 hits in the game. King drove the middle of the lineup, leading Giants with three runs batted in on a 1-for-3 day. Daniel Stephenson collected two hits in four at-bats while Cooper led with three of the team’s 11 walks.
Swans tallied nine hits in the game, including two apiece for Cameron Phelts and Riley Ozanne. Daniele drove the middle of the lineup, leading Swans with two runs batted in as the cleanup hitter went 1-for-3. Swans turned three double plays, too.
Wanneroo hosts Vic Park on Sunday and Swan Districts heads to Perth.
