The Harcher State League season is heating up with Wanneroo, Braves, Morley, Swan Districts, and Vic Park Belmont leading the way.

South Perth Souths 6, Rockingham Rams 1
Cameron Landy collected three hits in three at-bats as South Perth Souths defeated Rockingham Rams 6-1 on Friday at Empire Ballpark. Landy singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.
The Souths were first on the board with Simon Baumer’s sacrifice fly scoring one run.
Jesse Sequeira’s RBI single helped Rockingham tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
South Perth broke the tie in the third on Landy’s single, which was followed by a base hit from Oliver McMahon to extend the lead to 4-1.
Jake Bowey began the game for South Perth, allowing one hit and one run (zero earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking four. Baumer and Will Sherriff each pitched in relief.
Josh Eddy stepped on the mound first for Rockingham, giving up five hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings with three walks.
South Perth had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Baumer and Adam Barbarich led the team with two walks each while Jaxon Limpus stole two bases.
Sequeira led Rockingham with one hit in three at-bats. The Rams had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks with two apiece for Joshua Diggins and Darryl Artis.
Braves 9, UWA Magpies 0
Braves won 9-0 over UWA Magpies at Empire Ballpark. They scored in the top of the first inning after James Smibert doubled, scoring one run, and Liam Collins hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs.
A single by Cody Parkinson extended the Braves lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.
Campbell Froude earned the win for Braves. The reliever allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings with just one walk.
Matthew Reyes took the loss for UWA Magpies. The starting pitcher went two innings, surrendering three runs on two hits, striking out two and walking four.
Daniel Schmidt started on the hill for Braves. The lefty didn’t give up any hits or runs in four innings with just one walk and four strikeouts. Todd Hatcher tossed one inning in relief, giving up one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Sam Kennelly, Jack Rigden, Lenny Golding, Parkinson, Nicholas Davis, and Smibert each collected one hit for Braves. Collins led the team with two runs batted in, while Kevin Clark took three of the team’s 13 walks.
Braves ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases, while the defense turned two double plays. The team didn’t make any errors as Clark had the most chances in the field with 10.
Reyes went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead UWA Magpies in hits.
Braves 6, Rockingham Rams 2
Braves were triumphant over Rockingham Rams 6-2 on Sunday at Frankland Park.
Braves jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after an error scored two runs. Brock Molloy induced Kevin Clark to hit into a fielder’s choice but one run scored. Sam Kennelly singled to score another two runs and Matt Kennelly had an RBI base hit, too.
Sam Kennelly earned the win for Braves with two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Todd Hatcher tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Braves in relief, giving up no hits or walks with one strikeout.
Molloy stepped on the hill first for Rockingham. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and six runs (zero earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one.
Kennelly and James Smibert were a force together in the lineup, each collecting two hits for Braves while hitting back-to-back. Kennelly provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Braves with 2 RBI as the pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day.
Liam Collins and Smibert each stole multiple bases as the Braves had seven stolen bases throughout the game.
Joshua Diggins, Vinnie Tarantola, Jeff Wishart, Jesse Sequeira, and Jax Williams each collected one hit for Rockingham. Darryl Artis led the Rams with one run batted in while the defense turned two double plays.
Braves play at home on Sunday against Gosnells in their next game while Rockingham has a doubleheader at Perth.
Morley Eagles 11, Gosnells Hawks 1
Alex Hall drove in seven runs on three hits to lead Morley Eagles past Gosnells Hawks 11-1 on Sunday at Crimea Park.
Hall hit an RBI single in the first, singled again in the second to score two, and smashed a three-run homer in the sixth. He also took a bases-loaded walk in the seventh to bring home another runner.
Maclin Berry’s sacrifice fly helped Gosnells tie the game at one in the top of the second. However, Morley made it 5-1 in the next frame as Aaron Bonomi singled, scoring one run, Jesse Williams drew a walk, scoring one run, and Hall singled, scoring two runs.
Morley also scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Matt Dixon doubled, scoring one run, Hall homered to right field, scoring three runs, and Sam Abbott hit a solo homer to right field.
Brendan Sing earned the win for Morley. The reliever didn’t give up any hits, walks, or runs in two innings, striking out two.
Jack Burt took the loss for Gosnells. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on four hits, striking out three and walking four.
Lachlan Waite stepped on the hill first for Morley. The starter gave up three hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Koskei Parkington-Hopes tossed one inning of shutout ball for Morley, giving up no hits or walks with a strikeout.
The Eagles accumulated nine hits in the game as Dixon went 2-for-3 and Williams took four of the team’s nine walks.
Morley turned one double play in the game and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Abbott had the most chances with 10.
Louis Scaramella, Robin Adamson, and Rodney Tennie each collected one hit for Gosnells. Berry led the team with one run batted in.
Morley plays Swan Districts on Friday and Vic Park Belmont on Sunday while Gosnells visits Braves for a doubleheader.
Swan Districts Swans 3, Perth 0
Both teams were strong on the bump on Sunday, but Swan Districts Swans prevailed 3-0 over Perth. Cameron Liss started the game for the Swans and recorded 21 outs.
Swan Districts got on the board in the second inning after Brian (Tanner) Jessen-Dalton induced Riley Ozanne to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
The Swans added one run in the third after Josh Dowling grounded out.
Liss earned the win for Swan Districts, giving up three hits over seven scoreless innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Jessen-Dalton stepped on the hill first for Perth, allowing eight hits and three runs over six innings, striking out five and walking two.
Cameron Phelts went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Swan Districts in hits, and he also stole two bases. Conor Parry, Ozanne, and Dowling each drove in one run.
Swan Districts turned two double plays in the game and didn’t commit any errors, with Parry taking nine chances, the most in the field.
Edgar Mundarain, Kaine Newham, and Jalen McGee each collected one hit for Perth as the defense turned two double plays.
Swan Districts Swans 5, Perth 4
Swan Districts Swans defeated Perth 5-4 on Sunday at Charlie Hodder Baseball Field.
A groundout by Jalen McGee put Perth on the board in the top of the first.
Swans captured a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third when Cameron Phelts grounded out, scoring one run, and Anthony Daniele singled, scoring two runs.
Dillian Clarkson earned the win for Swan Districts. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and two runs over six innings. Boston Foot appeared in relief.
Jake White began the game for Perth. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three and walking three.
Conor Parry, Brody Clarkson, Daniele, and Phelts had one hit each for Swan Districts. Daniele knocked in a pair of runs and the team stole four bases in the game.
Perth accumulated 10 hits, with two apiece for Edgar Mundarain, Kaine Newham, Devon Ramirez-Beaver, and Jesse Barron. Ronald (Ronnie) Sweeny, Peter Reyes, and McGee had one RBI each.
Swan Districts play Morley on Friday night and Wanneroo on Sunday. Perth hosts Rockingham for a Sunday doubleheader.
UWA Magpies 2, South Perth 0
Kodai Hamaya shut down South Perth Souths, throwing a complete game shutout and leading UWA Magpies to a 2-0 victory at UWA Sports Park on Sunday.
Both teams were strong on the mound. UWA Magpies pitchers struck out 13, while South Perth sat down 10.
A groundout by William Eastman put UWA Magpies on the board in the bottom of the second.
Warwick Saupold took the loss for South Perth. The starting pitcher went five innings, surrendering one run on four hits, striking out seven and walking three.
Jake Wilson, Kai Kurasho, Riley Spring, Bradley Tate, and Oki Takishima each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. Eastman and Jacob Davila each drove in one run.
Jake Bowey, Jai Hewitt, Adam Barbarich, Cameron Landy, and Jaxon Limpus each collected one hit for South Perth. The team was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Oliver McMahon had the most chances with 12.
South Perth visits Vic Park Belmont on Saturday while UWA Magpies play at home on Sunday against Carine Cats in their next game.
Wanneroo Giants 5, Vic Park Belmont 2
Wanneroo Giants beat Vic Park Belmont 5-2 on Sunday at Forster Park. Wanneroo opened the scoring in the top of the first with Ben King’s 2-RBI single.
Jacob Myer started the game for the Giants and gave up two hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking three.
Mathew Martin led things off on the hill for Vic Park Belmont. He gave up seven hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.
Frazer Brice tossed two innings of no-run ball for Wanneroo in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits, striking out none and walking two.
Wanneroo amassed nine hits in the game, with two apiece for Byron Armstrong, King, and Jacob Santich. King drove the middle of the lineup, leading the team with three runs batted in as the cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day with a pair of stolen bases.
Wanneroo turned two double plays in the game.
Ryan Boyer and Jayden Mitchell each collected two hits for Vic Park Belmont. The team was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Edwin Satisky made the most plays with seven.
Wanneroo Giants 1, Vic Park Belmont 0
Wanneroo prevailed in the second game of the doubleheader with a 1-0 result after taking the lead late in the game. The game was scoreless at the top of the eighth when a passed ball scored a run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Wanneroo pitchers struck out 11, while Vic Park Belmont sat down nine.
Tom Bailey started on the bump for Wanneroo. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking two. Callum Schipp and Rob Sorensen each threw shutout innings in relief.
Mizuki Akatsuka started on the hill for Vic Park Belmont, giving up three hits and zero runs over eight innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Daniel Stephenson, Ben King, and Dawson Summers each collected one hit for Wanneroo. The Giants didn’t make any fielding errors as Courtney Jones had the most chances with 12.
Leadoff hitter Josh Paull led the Reds with two hits in three at-bats. They turned one double play in an error-free game, with Edwin Satisky taking 11 chances, the most on the team.
