There were 10 big games in Harcher State League over the weekend as Wanneroo, Braves, Morley, South Perth, and Swan Districts make up the top five.

Morley Eagles 2, Swan Districts Swans 1
Morley Eagles took Friday’s game in dramatic fashion with a 2-1 walk-off victory over Swan Districts Swans at Empire Ballpark.
The game was tied at one in the bottom of the seventh when Alex Hall hit a solo home run to right field.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Morley pitchers struck out two and Swan Districts sat down three.
The Eagles got on the board in the fourth inning after Ryan Kift singled, scoring one run. Swan Districts tied the game at one in the top of the fifth after scoring on a wild pitch.
Brendan Sing earned the win for Morley. The reliever gave up two hits and no walks or runs over two and two-thirds innings. Lachlan Waite got the start, giving up four hits and one run (zero earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none.
Cameron Liss stepped on the mound first for Swan Districts. The righty surrendered three hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking five.
Hall, Luke Hughes, Aaron Bonomi, and Kift each collected one hit for Morley, with Hall and Kift driving in one run each. The Eagles took six walks, two by Matt Dixon, and turned one double play in the game.
Cameron Phelts and Boston Foot had two hits apiece for Swan Districts.
Braves 11, Gosnells Hawks 0
Liam Collins drove in five runs on two hits to lead Braves past Gosnells Hawks 11-0 on Sunday at Frankland Park. Collins hit a grand slam to left field in the second inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring one.
Braves won thanks in part to six runs in the second innings. Josh Kennelly doubled, scoring two runs, before Collins hit a grand slam to left field.
Braves opened the scoring in the bottom of the first after Kennelly drew a walk, scoring a run, Cody Parkinson singled, scoring two, and Collins hit a base hit to bring in another.
Matt Kennelly started on the mound for Braves, giving up one hit in five scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks.
Riley Hall started the game for Gosnells, allowing two hits and four runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and walking four.
Braves had patience at the plate, piling up 11 walks for the game. Kennelly, Kevin Clark, and James Smibert led the team with two walks each.
Braves turned one double play in the game and didn’t make any errors as Kennelly had the most plays with five.
Jarrod McKay led Gosnells with one hit, as the side had clean fielding with seven chances for Luke Houston.
Braves 7, Gosnells Hawks 2
Braves defeated Gosnells 7-2 in the second game of the doubleheader after scoring in the first inning on a Matt Kennelly single and a wild pitch.
Braves added two runs in the third. Kennelly doubled, making the score 4-0.
Campbell Froude earned the win for Braves, giving up five hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Tucker Smith and Todd Hatcher each threw shutout innings in relief.
Jack Burt took the loss for Gosnells. The righty went five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out three and walking four.
Braves tallied nine hits in the game. Kennelly led Braves with three hits in four at-bats. The defense turned two double plays as well.
Number seven hitter Calvin Butler showed the depth of Gosnells’ lineup with two hits in three at-bats. Riley Hall and Butler were a one-two punch in the lineup and drove in one run each. Gosnells turned one double play.
Braves play South Perth this weekend and Gosnells has a Sunday showdown with Carine.
Carine Cats 10, UWA Magpies 0
Carine Cats won big over UWA Magpies 10-0 on Sunday at UWA Sports Park. They got on the board in the second, scoring one run on a Carlos Salas groundout.
Carine added two more runs in the top of the fifth inning on one hit. Cas Silber hit a solo home run to centre field, and Jacob Davila induced Kylan Granland to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Simon Fisch stepped on the mound first for Carine, giving up two hits in five scoreless innings with four strikeouts and one walk.
Fujiura Masato stepped on the hill first for UWA Magpies, allowing one hit and one run over three innings, striking out four and walking one.
Ethan Campbell threw two innings of no-run ball for Carine in relief, allowing one hit, striking out two and walking one.
Jose Fuentes went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Carine in hits while Granland went 2-for-4. The Cats had patience at the plate, with 11 walks in the game including two apiece for Salas, Tarrant Reimers, Josh Molen, and Bailey Moorfield.
Carine stole 11 bases including four by Salas, while the defense was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Reimers made the most plays with 11.
Carine Cats 4, UWA Magpies 0
Carine Cats took down UWA Magpies 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at UWA Sports Park. They opened the scoring in the first after Conor Lourey grounded out, bringing home a run.
A sacrifice fly by Tom Hartley extended Carine’s lead to 2-0 in the top of the second.
Tarrant Reimers started the game for Carine, giving up five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Bradley Tate started the game for UWA Magpies. He gave up five hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out none and walking two.
Lourey drove the middle of the lineup, leading Carine with two runs batted in. Hartley, Brendan Heath, Carlos Salas, Reimers, and Tyson Le Quesne each collected one hit for Carine. Kylan Granland led the team with two of their six walks.
Carine turned one double play in the game and didn’t make any errors. Salas had the most chances in the field with seven.
Riley Spring, Joshua Houston, Matthew Reyes, Michael Albertini, and Oki Takishima each collected one hit for UWA Magpies. The defense turned a double play, too.
Carine heads to Gosnells this Sunday and UWA Magpies visit Wanneroo.
Morley Eagles 8, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 5
Ulrich Bojarski collected three hits in four at-bats as Morley Eagles defeated Victoria Park Belmont 8-5 on Sunday at Crimea Park. Bojarski singled in the second, third, and seventh innings.
A base hit by Jack Smalpage on an 0-2 count put Vic Park on the board in the top of the first.
Aaron Bonomi singled on an 0-2 count to help Morley tied the game at one in the bottom of the second.
The Eagles flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on five hits to take a 6-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Cody Holt that drove in two.
Adam Millson earned the win for Morley. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Riley Franklin, Koskei Parkington-Hopes, Brendan Sing, and Kieran Hall pitched in relief.
Mizuki Akatsuka took the loss for Vic Park Belmont, going seven innings with eight runs (five earned) on 12 hits, striking out four and walking one.
Morley tallied 13 hits in the game. Bojarski, Jesse Williams, Matt Dixon, and George Calverley had multiple hits. Williams stole three bases while the defense turned one double play.
The Reds piled up 10 hits, led by Smalpage going 2-for-5. Josh Paull, Smalpage, and Jayden Mitchell had one RBI each.
Morley plays Perth this Sunday and Vic Park has a doubleheader at Rockingham.
Rockingham Rams 8, Perth 5
Rockingham Rams bested Perth 8-5 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. It was tied at five in the top of the seventh when Jesse Sequeira homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Rockingham opened the scoring in the top of the first on two singles, starting with Joshua Diggins’ RBI base hit.
Jake White singled to help Perth tie the game at two in the bottom of the first.
Rockingham took the lead in the top of the third. David Nichols hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs, to give the Rams a 4-2 advantage.
Perth captured a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the third after Ronald (Ronnie) Sweeny doubled, Edgar Mundarain hit a sacrifice fly, and Jesse Barron grounded out, each scoring one run.
Rockingham went back in front 8-5 in the top of the seventh when Vinnie Tarantola singled, scoring a run, and Sequeira homered to left field, scoring three.
Tarantola started on the hill for Rockingham. The lefty surrendered six hits and five runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two.
Brian (Tanner) Jessen-Dalton started the game for Perth, giving up four hits and four runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking three.
Leadoff hitter Darryl Artis led Rockingham with two hits in three at-bats. Sequeira provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led the Rams with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
Diggins and Artis stole two bases each as Rockingham had five stolen bases total.
White went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Perth in hits. Mundarain, Sweeny, and Barron each drove in a run while the defense didn’t make any errors. Mundarain had the most chances in the field with 13.
Perth 1, Rockingham Rams 0
It came down to the wire on Sunday at Inglewood Oval as Perth grabbed a 1-0 victory in walk-off fashion over the Rockingham Rams. The game was still scoreless in the bottom of the seventh when Brock Molloy induced Austin Moyle to hit into a fielder’s choice but one run scored.
Both teams were strong on the mound. Perth pitchers struck out six while Rockingham Rams sat down one.
Jordano Vivona earned the win for Perth. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two with no walks.
Jake White stepped on the mound first for Perth. The righty allowed five hits and zero runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two.
Molloy led things off on the hill for Rockingham. He allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out one and walking two.
Benjamin Nesbit led Perth with one hit in two at-bats. Perth didn’t commit a single error in the field as Edgar Mundarain had the most chances with six.
Number eight hitter Lachlan Cahill showed the depth of Rockingham’s lineup with two hits in three at-bats.
Perth plays at Morley this Sunday and Rockingham hosts Victoria Park Belmont for a doubleheader.
Wanneroo Giants 3, Swan Districts Swans 2
Wanneroo Giants snatched the lead late in their 3-2 victory over Swan Districts Swans on Sunday. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Wanneroo pitchers struck out nine while Swan Districts sat down two.
A solo home run to left field by Ben King put Wanneroo on the board in the bottom of the second.
Wanneroo’s Nicholas Riley hit a solo homer in the bottom of the third.
The home run fest continued when Michael De Gasperis sent one out of the park in the top of the fourth for the Swans.
De Gasperis singled to tie the game at two in the top of the fifth.
Rob Sorensen earned the win for Wanneroo, giving up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none.
Jacob Myer stepped on the bump first for Wanneroo. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking two.
Dillian Clarkson started on the mound for Swan Districts. The left-handed pitcher allowed nine hits and three runs (two earned) over eight innings, striking out two and walking none.
Tom Bailey and Frazer Brice each came on in relief for Wanneroo and shut down the Swans.
Wanneroo tallied nine hits in the game with two apiece for King and Riley, who also had an RBI each.
Wanneroo turned one double play in the game and didn’t make any errors. Jacob Santich had the most plays with 12.
De Gasperis went 2-for-4 to lead Swan Districts in hits. The defense turned one double play, too.
Wanneroo has a doubleheader vs. UWA Magpies this Sunday and Swan Districts has the week off before a matchup with Carine on Friday 17 November.
South Perth Souths 4, Victoria Park Belmont Reds 2
Cameron Landy collected three hits in three at-bats as South Perth won 4-2 over Victoria Park Belmont at Empire Ballpark. Landy had base hits in the first, third, and fifth innings.
South Perth’s scoring started in the top of the first with Landy’s RBI single. Vic Park tied it up at the bottom of the third with two doubles, including an RBI hit by Jack Smalpage.
South Perth didn’t take the lead until late in the game when it was tied at two in the top of the fifth. Landy’s single brought home two runs.
Jake Bowey started the game for South Perth, giving up five hits and two runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two.
Mathew Martin stepped on the bump first for Vic Park. He surrendered seven hits and four runs (one earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two.
Reliever Joseph Ranford threw one inning of shutout ball for South Perth, striking out two and walking one with no hits.
South Perth didn’t make any errors in the field as Oliver McMahon had the most plays with seven.
Josh Paull, Taiyo Kurosawa, Eddie Satisky, Smalpage, and Sean Garratt each collected one hit for Vic Park Belmont. Satisky and Smalpage were a one-two punch in the lineup, each driving in a run.
The Reds turned one double play in the game.
South Perth will travel to Braves for their next game on Friday. Vic Park heads to Rockingham for a doubleheader.
