The latest round of Harcher State League saw Victoria Park Belmont, Wanneroo, Braves, Perth, and Morley come away winners. Wanneroo, Braves, Morley, Perth, and Vic Park Belmont remain in the top five after nine weeks of play.

Victoria Park Belmont Reds 10, South Perth Souths 6
Mizuki Akatsuka was dominant on the mound, ringing up 11 strikeouts in Vic Park Belmont’s 10-6 victory over South Perth Souths on Sunday at Collins Oval. The starter gave up five hits, two runs, and zero walks in seven innings.
Vic Park got on the board in the first after Eddie Satisky singled, scoring a run. They added to their early lead in the top of the second after Sean Garrat walked and a wild pitch scored another run.
South Perth tied the game up in the bottom of the ninth thanks to two home runs. Jai Hewitt’s solo homer made it a 5-5 ballgame.
Reds flipped the game on its head in the top of the tenth, scoring five runs on four hits to break it open. Garratt’s three-run homer to left field sealed the deal.
Josh Paull earned the win for Vic Park. The reliever gave up one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking one. Curtis Bacon also appeared in relief.
Cameron Landy took the loss for South Perth, throwing one inning with three runs (one earned) on four hits with zero walks or strikeouts.
South Perth’s starter Caleb Goodwin gave up one hit and three runs over three innings, striking out four and walking five.
Reds accumulated 10 hits in the game as Garratt led with 3 RBI and Ryan Boyer, Jack Smalpage, and Joshua Greenham collected two hits apiece. The team also took 10 walks, including two each for Smalpage, Greenham, Bacon, and Paull.
Vic Park stole five bases and turned one double play, too.
South Perth’s Hewitt and Jaxon Limpus had three hits each, with the team recording 12 hits total. Limpus led the way with 2 RBI on a 3-for-5 day for the leadoff hitter. Simon Baumer collected two hits in five at-bats.
Vic Park Belmont hosts Swan Districts for a doubleheader this coming Sunday while South Perth also has two games at home vs. Gosnells.
Wanneroo Giants 11, Rockingham Rams 3
Wanneroo scored six runs in the fifth inning, helping them defeat Rockingham Rams 11-3 on Sunday at Mateljan Park. Owen Pilcher singled, scoring one run, Ethan Cooper singled, scoring another, and Drake Angeron doubled to bring home two more. An error and fielder’s choice increased Wanneroo’s fifth-inning lead.
Wanneroo got on board in the bottom of the first after Angeron hit an RBI double and Ben King hit an RBI single. Jacob Santich followed up with a three-run home run.
Rob Sorensen earned the win for Wanneroo. He gave up three hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking two.
Frazer Brice pitched three innings in relief. The righty surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) with no walks or strikeouts.
Wanneroo starter Callum Schipp allowed five hits and two runs over two innings, with zero strikeouts or walks.
Brock Molloy led things off on the bump for Rockingham, giving up 10 hits and six runs over four innings, striking out three and walking two.
Wanneroo tallied 15 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Cooper led Wanneroo with four hits in five at-bats, while Santich had 3 RBI on a 2-for-4 day. Jones and Angeron collected multiple hits as the latter stole two bases.
Giants turned three double plays in the game.
Rockingham collected 11 hits total, with three apiece for Tomas Swinson and Jesse Sequeira. Jax Williams and Lachlan Cahill were a one-two punch in the lineup, each driving in a run. Joshua Diggins collected two hits in five at-bats.
Wanneroo heads to Braves on Friday and Rockingham has a Sunday doubleheader at Morley.
Braves 5, UWA Magpies 4
Braves took Sunday’s game in dramatic fashion with a 5-4 walk-off victory over UWA Magpies at Frankland Park. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the tenth when Joel Beches singled, scoring one run.
A single by Sam Kennelly put Braves on the board in the bottom of the first.
Matthew Reyes doubled, helping UWA Magpies tie the game at one in the top of the fourth.
After a back-and-forth battle, UWA Magpies jumped back in the lead in the top of the ninth after Joris Van Ballegooy singled, Eita Samukawa doubled, and Riley Spring singled, each scoring a run.
Braves tied the game in the bottom of the ninth thanks to a single by Kevin Clark, an error, and a sacrifice fly by Cody Parkinson.
Kennelly led things off on the bump for Braves. He surrendered three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four.
Campbell Froude earned the win, giving up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Tucker Smith also pitched for Braves.
Nick Alexiou pitched first for UWA Magpies. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and four runs (two earned) over nine innings with seven strikeouts and three walks.
Oki Takishima took the loss for UWA Magpies. They went one-third of an inning, allowing zero runs or walks with one hit.
Kennelly and Beches each collected two hits for Braves. Kennelly, Beches, and Parkinson each drove in one run as the defense turned one double play on an error-free day. Parkinson made the most plays with 12.
Samukawa made the most of chances at the plate, as UWA Magpies’ number nine hitter led the team with a 3-for-4 performance. Reyes, Spring, Samukawa, and Van Ballegooy each drove in one run while the defense turned two double plays in the game.
Braves welcome Wanneroo Giants on Friday for their next matchup. UWA Magpies have the weekend off before a game at Rockingham on Wednesday 6 December.
Perth 7, Carine Cats 0
Perth defeated Carine Cats 7-0 on Sunday at Carine Regional Open Space as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Jake White and Brian (Tanner) Jessen-Dalton each pitched for Perth, with the latter striking out Kylan Granland to get the final out.
Josh McGee collected three hits in four at-bats with singles in the second, fourth, and sixth innings. His second base hit brought home Perth’s first run on the game in the fourth.
White earned the win for Perth. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none. Jessen-Dalton pitched four innings of no-run ball in relief, with zero hits, just one walk and eight strikeouts.
Conor Lourey took the loss for Carine. He threw eight innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out six and walking none.
White and McGee were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Perth. The team turned one double play in the game and didn’t commit any errors in the field. McGee had the most chances with 10.
Cooper McDonnell, Lourey, Cas Silber, and Bailey Moorfield each collected one hit for Carine as the Cats turned one double play, too.
Perth head to Gosnells for their net game one Wednesday and Carine hosts Braves on Sunday.
Morley Eagles 11, Swan Districts Swans 4
Morley took care of business at Charlie Hodder Baseball Field, beating Swan Districts 11-4.
Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sam Abbott walked and George Calverley and Callan Silvi hit into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.
Morley scored three in the top of the second on a home run to left field by Calverley.
Brendan Sing earned the win for Morley. The reliever allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Boston Foot took the loss for Swan Districts. They went two innings, giving up six runs on three hits, striking out two and walking four.
Lachlan Waite started or Morley, allowing one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Riley Franklin and Koskei Partington-Hopes appeared in relief.
Morley accumulated 13 hits in the game. Matt Dixon led the way with three hits in six at-bats, while Calverley drove the middle of the lineup with a team-high 3 RBI. The outfielder went 2-for-5 on the day.
Aaron Bonomi and Cody Nicholas had multiple hits for Morley while Zac McMillin and Bonomi stole multiple bases. The team had six SBs and turned one double play.
Brody Clarkson, Maverick Hamilton, and Michael De Gasperis each collected one hit for Swan Districts. Clarkson, Dan Carter, and Camero Phelts drove in one run each.
Morley plays Rockingham at home on Sunday and Swan Districts visit Vic Park Belmont on Sunday for a doubleheader.
