Wanneroo Giants are headed to the Junior League World Series!
This talented group of 12 to 14-year-old baseballers were thrilled to bring home the 2023 Australian Junior League Championship after an action-packed week in Adelaide.
The Giants put together a 6-0 campaign with 65 runs scored and 25 runs given up throughout the tournament. Their dominance continued into the gold medal game where Wanneroo held on for a 3-2 win over Adelaide Marlins.
After clinching the Australian Championship, Wanneroo will continue training in preparation for their next stop: the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan, USA from 13-20 August.
“We are incredibly proud of these juniors who have continued to develop their skills through hard work on and off the field,” BWA Participation Manager David Hayes said. “Many of these players were on last year’s Intermediate League team that represented Australia at the World Series. What an incredible opportunity they have to continue chasing their baseball dreams this year.”
“We congratulate everyone involved on an amazing AJLC performance and we can’t wait to see what the World Series has in store.”
