Little League T-Ball (LLTB) is an introductory tee-ball program aimed at kids aged up to 4-8 years old. Its aim is to provide an opportunity for kids to build the fine and gross motor skills which they will need to be able to enjoy a lifetime to play baseball in the future. With a simple to deliver program design and all resources provided to clubs and associations to deliver it, the program aims to target everyone.
The application form below is to express your interest in running a Little League T-Ball program. This program can be run as a multi week program or condensed into school holiday programs. The KIDDO All-Abilities Tee-ball Program is a specialized, 10-week program designed for children aged 4-8 years old. Developed by the KIDDO team at The University of Western Australia, the program is designed to be fun, inclusive, and flexible. Its primary goal is to develop the physical literacy and movement confidence of young children. The sessions focus on introducing and developing fundamental movement skills essential for tee-ball, including throwing, catching, striking, running, and balancing.
A core principle of the program is inclusivity for children with any additional needs. This is achieved through a “strengths-based approach,” where activities are adapted to focus on the movements a child can successfully perform, rather than what they cannot. Sessions are built for “Maximal Participation,” ensuring all children are actively moving and involved, not waiting in lines for their turn. This philosophy is supported by a positive environment that celebrates effort more than performance and focuses on “progress, not perfection”.
To ensure every participant feels secure and engaged, the program utilizes a “Buddy Up!” system. Each child is paired with a buddy—such as a parent, sibling, or volunteer—who is key to helping them feel safe, supported, and involved. Buddies are encouraged to participate with the child, not just alongside them, and can help coaches adapt activities to meet the child’s individual needs. This approach also helps to engage families in the program.
Each session follows a consistent, proven structure to build confidence and engagement. A session begins with a 5-minute “Instant Activity,” which is a quick, fun warm-up to help children join in. This is followed by 30 minutes of “Focus skill activities” that introduce and develop the specific tee-ball skills for that week. Every session ends with a 5-minute “Fun Finishing Game,” designed to ensure all children finish on a high note and are excited to come back the following week.
