2025 Little League Development Shield State Champs – April 19 Recap

Game 1: Big Fifth Powers Carine Cats Past Cavaliers Brown

Carine Cats smashed Cavaliers Brown 15-2 at Mateljan Park thanks to an eight-run fifth inning. Trailing early, Carine surged ahead with a six-run fourth sparked by Owen H’s two-run single. Cannon W and Parker S also drove in runs, while the Cats ran wild with 11 stolen bases. Cody S struck out seven across two innings. Cavaliers Brown managed just one hit, led by Ethan H, and stayed error-free in the field.


Game 2: Cavaliers Gold Storm Home Over West Coast Rays Blue

Cavaliers Gold fought back from four runs down to defeat West Coast Rays Blue 14-6. Finlay K’s two-run double highlighted a six-run first inning. Cavaliers Gold continued to dominate with steady scoring across four innings. Wynter L, Kieron D, and Theo L all collected multiple hits. Despite a solid effort at the plate with 10 walks, West Coast Rays Blue couldn’t keep pace.


Game 3: Southern Titans Fall Short Against Eastern Phantoms

Despite an early three-run single from Tyler K, Southern Titans fell 10-6 to Eastern Phantoms. The Phantoms exploded for six runs in the third, led by Kayden R’s two-RBI single. Kealan E fanned six in relief for the Titans, but the Phantoms’ strong baserunning and six walks helped seal the win.


Game 4: Central Firebirds Roll Over Carine Cats

Central Firebirds cruised past Carine Cats 14-2 at Mateljan Park. Bentley S opened the scoring and Cruz A kept the momentum with a two-RBI effort. Lukas H was dominant on the mound, striking out five. Carine’s lone highlight was a hit from Hayden A, but they couldn’t contain the Firebirds’ pressure.


Game 5: Wanneroo Giants Black Shut Out Cavaliers Brown

Wanneroo Giants Black overpowered Cavaliers Brown 12-0. Early RBIs from Zachary H and Jaxon B set the tone. Jaxon finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Aston B walked three times. Izaac B was brilliant on the mound, fanning eight across nearly three innings. Cavaliers Brown struggled for hits in a tough outing.


Game 6: Southern Titans Hold Off Fast-Finishing West Coast Rays Blue

Southern Titans survived a late fightback to beat West Coast Rays Blue 14-12. Jumping out with a six-run first, Titans kept the runs coming with 11 total hits. George F went 3-for-3, while Jake S and Thomas L drove in multiple runs. Despite 16 walks and six stolen bases, Rays Blue just fell short.


Game 7: Southern Hills Warriors Blank Swan Hills Aces

Southern Hills Warriors dominated Swan Hills Aces 18-0. Alessio B’s two-run double and 13 team walks broke the game open. Luca B was outstanding, striking out seven across three innings. Swan Hills struggled to find answers against the Warriors’ aggressive base running and pressure hitting.


Game 8: Wanneroo Giants Orange Rally Big Against West Coast Rays Gold

Down by six, Wanneroo Giants Orange roared back to smash West Coast Rays Gold 22-7. Taitan H’s three-run homer flipped momentum as the Giants piled on across three innings. Ava Z starred with two hits, and the Giants drew an incredible 22 walks, stealing 14 bases for a dominant win.


Game 9: Wanneroo Giants Orange Edge Southern Hills Warriors In Thriller

In a high-scoring battle, Wanneroo Giants Orange edged Southern Hills Warriors 11-10. Taitan H starred with a 3-for-3, five-RBI performance. After falling behind early, Giants rallied with a six-run second inning. Alessio B collected two hits for the Warriors, but despite a fierce fightback, Wanneroo’s late doubles sealed a thrilling win.
