Tigers Pounce Late to Top Cats in Tight One
The Western Tigers pulled off a late-game surge to steal a 4-2 win over the Carine Cats on Tuesday. With the game tied at two in the seventh, Jordan Trainer came up clutch, driving in the go-ahead runs with a single.
Earlier, the Cats had jumped ahead in the second thanks to an RBI single from Archer Rolfe and a patient walk from Samuel Coombe. But the Tigers clawed back in the sixth when Tyler Fraser drew a walk to tie things up.
Tane Botting was brilliant in relief, tossing 4.1 innings of scoreless ball while striking out seven without issuing a walk. Enzel Takuta kept the Cats honest early, while Finley Scott was solid for Carine, going four scoreless innings with five punchouts.
The Tigers were aggressive on the bases, swiping 12 bags, with Takuta, Kolk, Raymond, and Nicholas leading the charge. Trainer and Raymond each drove in a run, while Coorey was a standout for the Cats with three hits from four trips to the plate.
Phantoms Demolish Tigers in One-Sided Affair
The Eastern Phantoms ran riot over the Western Tigers with a dominant 14-1 win at Empire Ballpark. What started as a slow burn soon erupted, with the Phantoms piling on five runs in the fifth and taking full advantage of defensive errors and patient at-bats.
Ethan Sneddon chipped in with a sac fly, Marcus White picked up two RBIs, and Kayden Prosper delivered a two-run single as part of the big innings. The Tigers simply couldn’t keep pace.
Cody Joss was near untouchable on the hill, striking out six in just under three innings of one-hit work. Xavier Loosmore backed it up in relief with another clean spell. Hyte Brooks made his one hit count with three RBIs, and Tex Prisov showed remarkable discipline at the plate, drawing four walks.
The Phantoms also flexed their speed, stealing 10 bases, and didn’t commit a single error in the field. For the Tigers, Enzel Takuta drove in the lone run, and Koby Trousselot collected two hits in an otherwise tough outing.
Giants Blow Past Firebirds in Big Win
The Wanneroo Giants unleashed a monster performance to belt the Central Firebirds 19-5 in a game that turned quickly after a fast start from both sides.
The Giants got going early, scoring four in the first, but the Firebirds responded immediately with five of their own in the second—highlighted by a two-run knock from Joel Vlasic. But that momentum didn’t last long.
Wanneroo exploded for nine runs in the third and five more in the fourth, putting the result beyond doubt. Cooper Barber was the standout with a four-RBI double, while Sebastian Beazley went 3-for-4 and drove in three. Blake Sexton, Harry Wooden, and Quinn Fatai all added to the fireworks with timely hits.
Brayden George kept things steady on the mound for the Giants, while Connor O’Byrne had a tough day for the Firebirds. Wanneroo finished with 18 hits and eight stolen bases, showing dominance in every department.
Firebirds Survive Late Scare to Edge Titans
The Central Firebirds built a handy lead and held off a late fightback from the Southern Titans to secure a nail-biting 5-4 win on Tuesday. Up 5-0 by the fifth, the Firebirds looked comfortable until the Titans clawed back with a flurry of late runs.
Archie Moffat kicked off the scoring in the first with a groundout RBI, followed by a run on a wild pitch in the second. Chayce Humble and Oliver Humphreys added more in the third with a single and groundout RBI respectively.
Humphreys was rock solid on the bump, tossing four scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. Kaylen Puna then iced the game with two clean innings in relief. The Firebirds stole eight bases to keep pressure on, while Connor O’Byrne and Joel Vlasic were busy on the paths.
Eli Plummer sparked the Titans’ comeback attempt, driving in two runs, and Jordan Mahauariki chipped in with a hit. Despite a late push, the Titans couldn’t bridge the gap, and the Firebirds held on for a gutsy win.
