Out-of-hours works to the Nicholson Road underpass in Thornlie
What we are doing
• extension works at the Nicholson Road underpass located between the rail corridor and Yale Road in Thornlie
• movement of construction equipment and materials
• delivering and installing large pre-cast concrete underpass arches and wall segments
• concrete works
• weekend southbound Nicholson Road closures with traffic management in place
• path closure to safely undertake these works due to presence of large equipment.
When
• planned southbound closures of Nicholson Road:
o from 7pm Friday 28 March until 4am Monday 31 March
o from 7pm Friday 11 April until 4am Monday 14 April
• intermittent night shifts from late-March to end-April
• see the project website and variable message sign boards for any changes to above work dates.
Where
• Nicholson Road southbound between Bannister Road/ Wilfred Road and Yale Road/ Garden Street roundabout – see map overleaf
• the underpass at Nicholson Road
• access via Nyandi Court, Wilfred Road and the Nicholson Road Station site.
What to expect
• detours via Bannister Road/ Ranford Road and Spencer Road/ Yale Road, with signs to guide road users
• temporary closure of the path
• use of construction equipment including cranes
• increase in noise and light around the area
• installing traffic management
• every effort will be made to minimise construction impacts.
