There are exciting offseason playing opportunities for WA players in the Swedish Competition, a 27-game series with two teams open to imports: the Rättvik Butchers and Leksand Lumberjacks.Details include:
- Ruling on imports for Swedish series is max four in the line-up and only three on the field at the same time.
- Non-European passport holders can apply for a 90-day visa, which may be extended once the player has landed in the country.
- Accommodation provided by both clubs would be a self-contained living quarter, either an apartment or a cabin close to the field paid by the Swedish club.
- 1-2 meals provided per day for each player.
- Coaching of youth teams required during the stay.
- Team coaches are also wanted for Swedish League and may be imported to carry out that role or serve as a player/coach.
- Flights may be covered depending on the club and the number of import players.
- June-July: Swedish imports need to be confirmed coming to WA
- Dec-Jan: Aussie imports need to be confirmed coming to Sweden
