Morley Eagles are back-to-back Harcher State League Champions! They won the 2025/26 best-of-three grand final series on Thursday night at NSR Hire Ballpark with an 8-4 victory over Braves, after a walk-off 9-8 win on Wednesday.

Grand Final Game 1: Morley Eagles 9, Braves 8
Morley Eagles took Wednesday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 9-8 walk-off victory over Braves at NSR Hire Ballpark. It was tied at eight in the bottom of the ninth when Jess Williams singled, scoring one run.
Morley collected 11 hits and Braves had 13 in the high-scoring affair.
Braves got on board in the top of the first inning after Sam Kennelly grounded out, and Jake Bowey singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Morley made the score 3-2 in the bottom of the first after Matt Kennelly induced Bodee Wright to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored, and Williams grounded out, scoring one run.
Three more Morley runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 6-2. Wright hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Mitch Graham homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Eagles committed an error, which helped Braves tie the game at eight in the top of the ninth.
Warwick Saupold earned the win for Morley. The hurler surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking none.
Todd Hatcher took the loss for Braves. The hurler went four and one-third innings, surrendering one run on six hits, striking out five and walking three.
Kane Silvi opened the game for Morley. The pitcher allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking two. Brendan Sing and Kieran Hall each appeared in relief.
Kennelly stepped on the bump first for Braves. He allowed five hits and eight runs (seven earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two.
Wright provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading Morley with three runs batted in as the cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Matt Dixon, Graham, Williams, and Wright each collected two hits.
Tim Kennelly and Bowey each collected three hits apiece for Braves, while Ben Drew led with two runs batted in and Kevin Clark had two hits in four at-bats. The defense turned one double play in the game.
Grand Final Game 2: Morley Eagles 8, Braves 4
Morley Eagles were victorious against Braves 8-4 on Thursday at NSR Hire Ballpark to win the grand final series.
Morley jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Bodee Wright singled, scoring one run, and Mitch Graham homered to center field, scoring three runs.
Morley starter Raleigh Pelkonen surrendered one hit and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking four. Warwick Saupold pitched five innings in relief, giving up four hits and zero runs while striking out eight and walking none.
Tucker Smith started the game for Braves, allowing seven hits and five runs (three earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.
Morley totaled 11 hits in the game. Graham drove the middle of the lineup, leading Eagles with three runs batted in. Graham went 1-for-5 on the day.
Wright led Eagles with three hits in three at-bats. Aaron Bonomi, Jess Williams, and Cameron Bahr each collected multiple hits while the defense was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Bahr had the most fielding chances with 10.
Yuto Okamura went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Braves in hits. Matt Kennelly, Daniel Choi, and Okamura each drove in one run while Tim Kennelly collected two hits in five at-bats. They turned one double play in the game.
