The 2024 Women’s Elite Series continued on Wednesday night as Braves defeated Kalamunda Rangers on the back of a clutch display from Leah Cornish.
In this new Club Cup Tournament, games are seven innings with a two-hour time limit, and each one is broadcast on Streamer (7West Media) as part of an exciting partnership.

Braves 14, Kalamunda Rangers 3
Leah Cornish drove in five runs on three hits to lead Braves past Kalamunda Rangers 14-3 on Wednesday at Empire Ballpark. Cornish hit an inside-the-park home run in the second scoring two, singled in the third scoring two, and tripled in the first scoring one.
Braves got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Cornish tripled, scoring one run, Caitlin Eynon drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lily Duckworth singled, scoring two runs.
Braves added four more runs in the bottom of the second inning on three hits. Shenaye Lett drew a walk, scoring one run, Cornish hit an inside-the-park home run, scoring two runs, and Mia Davis doubled, scoring one run.
Braves extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Cornish and Madison White.
Amanda Mirco earned the win for Braves. The pitcher allowed three hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking three. Isabella Clarke took the loss for Kalamunda Rangers. The righty went three innings, giving up 11 runs (nine earned) on 11 hits, striking out four and walking three.
Braves accumulated 13 hits in the game. Duckworth, White, and Eynon each collected multiple hits for Braves. Jemma Golding, Duckworth, and Eynon each stole multiple bases with nine total in the game. The defense turned one double play.
Emily Millard, Ashleigh Hort, and Sheena Trigg each collected one hit for Kalamunda Rangers. Shannon Barnden and Jaclyn Zorn each drove in one run while the defense turned a double play.
